I can't express enough how thankful I am that my Mum was able to benefit from the dedication, friendliness and quality of care displayed by every single member of the Lady of the Vale team. She recently passed away peacefully aged 89, having been in their care for nearly 3 years.
The quality of care and dedication of the staff provided her with the utmost dignity and quality of life, whilst the ever-present activities calendar provided lots of opportunities for continued socialising, fun and games, which can be hard to come by in such circumstances otherwise.
Additionally, the "open door" policy regarding visiting hours, the ongoing facility upgrade programme, wonderful grounds, variety of food, and the friendliness of all staff has also provided me with a great deal of comfort that being in such good hands.

Always welcomed into the nursing home which is set in beautiful surroundings. Spacious room provided and patient was made to feel comfortable in the environment. Staff provided regular updates on issues and were sympathetic to the issues that arose. Food was of a good quality and refreshments offered to visitors. Social events help to develop the relationships with family and friends with a regular calendar of events provided. Regular reviews on the patient undertaken by doctor(s) and medical staff with the feedback given. A feeling of community was present.

An exceptional team at Lady of the Vale. The professionalism of the nursing team, the care, respect and sensitivity of the carers, the energy and kindness of the activities manager and chefs and the hard work of the management team, all contributed to a great experience for mum during the last fifteen months of life.

Mum has been in the Vale for about three months. From the very first day the staff have been fantastic, friendly, helpful, caring and got Mum through a difficult time at the beginning. She's settled now and looks a lot better than she has for some time which I think is down to the great food and care she's received. Keep up the amazing work you all do its appreciated.

Mum was admitted to the Vale in March a week ago! The staff, manager, kitchen staff, and of course nurses are amazing caring lovely and attentive. The food is home cooked and very

well prepared and served. I can only say that this is a traditional nursing home with marvellous values. Activities are ongoing each day and residents are encouraged to join. Godfrey the manager runs a tight ship with an easy going relaxed homely feel.

Admitting my mum to Lady of the Vale was a difficult decision, filled with apprehension & sadness. However, from the moment we arrived, any concerns I had were immediately put to rest. After three challenging weeks in hospital, mum had lost her independence, but within days, the dedicated nursing team & carers had her walking again mostly unaided & enjoying meals thoughtfully tailored to her needs.

The warmth & genuine friendliness of the entire team consistently exceeded our expectations. No matter the hour, I was always welcomed to find mum either in the lounge or her room, often engaged in conversation or receiving attentive support from a member of staff. When mum sadly passed away earlier this month, she was treated with unwavering love and dignity. I am deeply grateful that I was able to be by her side during this time. My heartfelt thanks go to Otilia, Ling, Candice & Hannah and everyone who cared for our wonderful mum.

Overall Experience

The Lady of the Vale nursing staff were fabulous with my my aunt who was admitted in September 2025. She was only there for 3 and a half short weeks and unfortunately didn't get the chance to join in with many of the activities as she was just too poorly. All the team at the home were compassionate and gave my aunty dignity and respect in very difficult circumstances. She was always clean and in fresh clothes when we visited and we visited every single day so we got to know how well she was being looked after. It's always a difficult decision to place someone out of their own home and trust has to be earned. The Lady of the Vale team surpassed my expectations with their genuine care. They let us know when the sad end was coming meaning we could be there with my aunt and she didn't go alone and we'll always be grateful for this. Thank you Godfrey, Bindi, Nelly, Carla, Patience and everyone else who looked after my aunt.

An extremely caring care home. Staff were wonderful. Kind, compassionate and engaging with both my father and members of his family. All were helpful. Communication from staff members regarding my fathers care needs were very good indeed. Although my father did not participate in activities due to ill health, I noticed some fantastic activities that were available for residents displayed on a large notice board (families were welcomed too). My stepmother, myself and extended family were very pleased with the placement.

We cannot praise Lady of the Vale highly enough. We had checked the reviews and all they say is true. My sister was admitted in March 2025 and though she lived there only 3 weeks, all the staff and managers treated her with dignity, respect and genuine affection. The house and rooms are spotless and there is not a hint of the odours that can characterise nursing/care homes. The manager and staff embraced my sister and all our family from the very first day and cared beautifully for her + indeed for us. They always had time to respond to our questions and requests and to my sister's increasingly critical needs. When the end sadly came they were on hand for her and for us. The sisters and visiting priest brought great spiritual comfort, as indeed did the staff. We are forever grateful we grateful we found LOTV.

Although my mum was only in Lady of the Vale for 5 weeks, in all that time she was treated with care, respect and dignity. The management and staff were all excellent and we regularly saw the same staff over and over. The additional care from the sisters meant my mum could reconnect with her faith in her final weeks/days and hours of her long and happy life.

I cannot recommend The Lady of the Vale Nursing Home highly enough. From the moment my grandad arrived the staff went above and beyond to make him feel comfortable, happy and truly cared for. Their dedication and compassion were evident in every aspect of his care, and as a family, we always felt reassured knowing he was in such good hands.

Special mention must go to two members of staff, who are both exceptional members of staff. Their warmth, kindness, and genuine care made all the difference-not only for my grandad but for our whole family. They treated him with the utmost respect and dignity, always going the extra mile to ensure he felt at home. The entire team at The Lady of the Vale is supportive, personable, and incredibly kind, creating an environment where residents and their families feel truly valued and at ease. We will always be grateful for the love and care they showed my grandad. If you need a nursing home that genuinely puts residents well-being first this is the place.

I cannot speak highly enough of the manager and his team, as they really do 'care' , my mum was in another care facility prior and the difference at LOV was unbelievable.
The team never stop, their patience, care and understanding is incredible really , they treat their patients with respect and offer their families the upmost support.

I am incredibly grateful we found LOV as they truly cared for my mum , a proud and elegant lady , they maintained her dignity as dementia took over, and I cannot thank them enough.

I had a very positive visit to see my mother. She is very happy and content and getting to know the staff. The Lady of the Vale residential home offers many opportunities and facilities to the residents. The staff are most helpful and welcoming and most sympathetic to my mother's needs.
My mother does need to be encouraged to go to the dayroom each day, if possible, and to socialise with other residents.
A pleasure to come to the clean and well appointed Lady of the Vale residential home.

Many thanks.
