Wyncourt is a very special nursing home. Their compassionate care, under the most difficult circumstances, is a credit to every one of the wonderful staff and management. The skill and care of the trained nurses to manage a complex health condition with kindness, calmness and reassurance was so valued
by all the family. Maintaining family contact within the conditions of the Covid pandemic was outstanding, there was the provision of outdoor visits and iPad chats were made fully available. We know how fortunate we are to have our loved one in your care during that time. Thank you so much to everyone at Wyncourt Nursing Home.

A real family feeling throughout the facility. Happy staff and happy residents. Looked after my mum in her fading weeks with real genuine care and attention. We are now looking to rest my wife's stepfather from his existing care home. The difference in the quality of overall care is staggering.
Reply from Ben Mattinson, Junior Manager at Wyncourt Nursing HomeThanks for the review Des. We are proud of our family values and your mum was a big part of the Wyncourt family. She kept everyone in line and made us laugh every day. Hope you are well.

My mum lived here for eight and a half years until she passed away through a natural death.
We visited so many places and this stood out way above any others. The friendliness, approachability and my mum being the total focus of their attention. They welcomed the family in any time we wanted which
was all hours, initially. There was no place other than home where we would have left her. They engage all the time with the residents and know their individual needs inside and out. I cannot praise or promote this home enough. The team and environment are one-off.
Reply from Sue Mattinson, Owner at Wyncourt Nursing HomeThank you for your review. Your mum and your family will always remain very special to us all at Wyncourt.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.742)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.742) out of 10 for Wyncourt Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 17 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 16 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.842 for Wyncourt Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (190 Excellents x 5) + (5 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) + (4 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 203 Ratings = 4.842
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Wyncourt Nursing Home is based on 16 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 35 registered maximum number of service users is 7, which has been reached with 16 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Activities & Well-Being Manager Joined: 2010

I'm Laura Duncalf, the Activities & Well-Being Manager at Wyncourt, and I've been part of this amazing community for over 14 incredible years. I've had my fair share of experiences in different nursing homes, but Wyncourt holds a special place in my heart – I couldn't imagine working anywhere else.

What sets Wyncourt apart for me is the strong sense of family values that permeate through the entire place. It genuinely feels like we're one big family, and that extends to our residents. To me, they're not just residents; they're my adopted grandparents. The care we provide is rooted in treating them with the utmost dignity and respect, and that's something you can feel in every aspect of our community.

As the Activities & Well-Being Manager, my role involves ensuring the day-to-day stimulation of our residents, whether it's through group activities or one-on-one interactions. I also get the privilege of planning exciting events like BBQs, Christmas Parties, and Fundraisers. Our residents enjoy trips out too – shopping, museums, garden centres, you name it. Laughter and smiles are just a part of our daily routine, and it's incredible to see the positive impact it has on everyone.

In my opinion, Wyncourt is the best around, and I'm proud to be a part of this family. The joy we bring to our residents' lives is what makes every day special.
