My mum was cared for at the nursing home for two months prior to her passing in July 2024. It was lovely to attend St Barts' annual memorial service this year to remember my mum and all the other residents who had recently passed. We thank you for hosting this and allowing us to remember my mum in this
way. You have provided a complete package of care for mum and for our family and we could not recommend you more highly. Lovely and caring staff.

Mum is about to enjoy her 3rd Christmas in St Bartholomew's Court. Reluctant at first, she went in to be with Dad during Covid as he was needing end-of-life care and she couldn't have stayed on her own at home. The care Dad received gave him 51 weeks of good quality of life, and since he died Mum has
been well cared for and looked after. We feel supported as a family and nothing is too much trouble, hence we have a Christmas family party in the conservatory (and there are over 20 of us) we bring the cake and are joined by Mum's friends and staff. That family photo means the world to all of us, and this year there will be 5 generations. We couldn't ask for more.

I really can't speak highly enough of St Bartholomew's Court Nursing Home - there aren't really any words to praise the whole team as much as they deserve.
Every single member of the staff there and I do mean every single person is dedicated to providing the best care, compassion, kindness and service
they can to each and every resident.
My mum has thrived in the time that she has been there and all of Mum's family have complete peace of mind knowing that she is happy and being looked after with warmth, care and commitment from all the team.
There is an utterly professional level of care from everyone, always delivered with a smile, a generosity of spirit and great empathy.
Thank you to everyone at St Barts from Mum and all her family for looking after Mum and for looking after us all when we go and visit.
Reply from Michael Dutton, Deputy Matron at St Bartholomew's Court Nursing Home

An excellent nursing home. The staff are so dedicated and caring, that they happily go above and beyond to ensure residents are happy and well cared for. The activity programme is fun and varied, 'armchair travels' is a great idea and thoroughly enjoyed by all.
As a family, we are grateful that our
mum is in a safe environment and receives the highest level of care that is tailored to meet her needs from truly wonderful staff.

Me and my Wife could not be more happy and satisfied with the care that was given to her dad. The staff at St Bartholomews went above and beyond with his care as they did with all the residents. Everyone was involved in amazing activities and entertainment for the residents.
The staff were always friendly
and were there with a tea\coffee and a smile for visitors and made you feel welcome. We were kept informed at all times about any medical problems he had. Sadly my father-in-law passed away recently while in the home. During this time the staff were sympathetic /respectful and caring with all the family.
I would highly recommend this nursing home to anyone with a family member needing care as you will not find a better one.

My grandad spent 6 months here and from the moment he arrived they couldn't have cared for him any better. He got that sparkle back in his eyes which he'd lost. Every resident was always well-presented, clean and treated with respect and dignity when we visited. The range of activities was exceptional
and we always saw pictures of him enjoying his days. When he would wake in the night the night staff would spend time with him and he'd end up sitting with them eating and chatting at all hours of the morning. The staff are so friendly and make you feel welcome when you visit. We had a birthday party for him in a private area where all our family could visit. During his final days, they couldn't have cared for him better, washing and dressing him every morning and changing his bedding. They took care of our family so well during this time too and they'd bring in trays of tea for us. We couldn't have asked for him to be anywhere better and we will forever be grateful to the staff at St Barts.

My grandad lived here for 6 months before sadly passing away on 20th May. I could not have asked for a better place for him to spend the last 6 months of his life. The staff are amazing and you can see how much they care for the residents they look after. There are always so many activities for residents
to do and keep them occupied. My grandad always looked clean and smart. The staff looked after me and my family so well when my grandad passed away.
Thank you again, you are all amazing.

Mum moved to St Bartholomew's in November after spells in three other care homes. The difference in the quality of care was unbelievable. The staff were outstanding, not just in terms of the care they gave Mum, but also in the way they welcomed and looked after Dad - her husband of 65 years - when he
visited every day.
From the managers to carers and the domestic team, everyone genuinely cared about the residents. Most staff seemed to have been employed in the home for many years, which reflects its strong leadership and ensures the highest quality of care is consistently given. It is undoubtedly an exceptional nursing home.
The manager and the team knew more about Mum’s needs after her first week there than any of the other homes had done after several months. It took us a while to secure a place for Mum at St Bartholomew's, but it was well worth the wait. We can’t praise them or thank them highly enough.

I had my mum removed from another care home as she was so poorly looked after. She was malnutrition, had large bedsores; I thought she was going to die! Got her moved to St Bartholomew's, and she has recovered so well. I can’t thank the staff enough. They not only look after the residents, but they
also look after us relatives.

I was so upset and worried that my mum had to go into a nursing home as it was unexpected. I was reassured by all the staff who took me to one side and listened to me and answered any questions. Staff are friendly, professional and it is managed very well. Staff and managers constantly walk around
checking residents are ok and take the time to get to know them and have a laugh with them.
They have taken the time to settle my mum in even though she asks a lot of questions and I have watched the staff holding my mums hand and reassuring her of the routine. They show respect for their residents. They have welcomed family in and are very open and honest. It is spotless and well decorated.
I like the fact that most of the staff are older and seem well trained, patient and committed to their roles. Nothing is too much trouble. There is plenty of staff too so residents are not left for long periods. I feel happy leaving my mum there knowing she is well cared for and most of all happy.

Until recently, my mum was a resident in St Barts and was very poorly when she was admitted.

The staff, without exception, are second to none. The dignity, care and respect shown every day to my mum was wonderful.

I would have no hesitation in recommending St. Bartholomew's Court to anyone who

had a sick relative.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.744)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.744) out of 10 for St Bartholomew's Court Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.962 for St Bartholomew's Court Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (101 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 105 Ratings = 4.962
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.782 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St Bartholomew's Court Nursing Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 51 registered maximum number of service users is 10.2. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 10.2 = 0.882
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
