Please avoid putting anyone in this home, my family member went in for 2 weeks respite with a healing pressure sore on admission, due to not being repositioned not given enough fluids her wound massively deteriorated, trained staff told us she was EOL however as a medical professional I disagreed and
said the wound was infected and asked for the wound to be swabbed and tissue viability to be contacted immediately, family were told first swab was inconclusive which we now found out since getting all paperwork After waiting 6 weeks and getting safeguarding involved it is documented the swab was not labelled then we got told more lies that pain relief was given when it wasn't this was confirmed by another trained staff member. When we asked questions we got different answers from different trained staff no consistency , we took food in labelled and it went missing along with clothing which had clip on tags. Documentation has been filled inaccurately we have evidence of this. Horrific home

Would like to actually give this a zero star review. My cousin unfortunately had to move into this "nursing home" for respite and her care needs were not met. The care home have avoided dealing with this issue and I have had to email multiple times to get very limited and incomplete responses. My cousin
passed away due to the homes failings and I have serious concerns about other residents in their "care". If I had my time over again and knew what I know now I would not have placed her there. This case is currently being looked at by the coroners about her care.

My mother-in-law was cared for here for a few weeks before her passing (Feb 2023). The home is well-maintained, clean and bigger than it looks from the outside. The social areas are open and spacious and welcoming. We brought in personal items to make her room feel more homely. Due to my mother-in-law’s
failing health, we were able to visit as and when we needed and for as long as we needed, even overnight. The staff are friendly, empathetic, caring, conscientious and professional. Although our time at the home was short, as a family we were also looked after with great care. The home seems well staffed and they were constantly helping all the residents and always with a smile. Families are rightly cautious and wary that their loved one will be taken care of but here they are treated so nicely. When my mother-in-law passed away the staff took care of all the formalities that we would have found additionally stressful and upsetting. Adamstan House is a lovely place.

Could not praise this nursing home enough. Every member of staff are lovely, nothing is ever any trouble for them. They are very kind and caring people. My mum has been bedridden since Sept 2015 and they have now managed to get her out of bed and into the lounge . It was amazing to see a glimmer of
her old self. If you was considering this nursing home for a family member it is excellent . I have been into a lot of nursing/care home and finally feel that my mum is getting looked after 100%.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 1.000 for Adamstan House Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (22 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 22 Ratings = 1
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 0 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Adamstan House Nursing Home is based on 0 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) =

  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
