The atmosphere in the home is friendly and warm and despite the pressures, the staff are highly motivated.
Communication is good and the staff and management respond to issues quickly, sensitively and professionally.
The home is well led.
My son has cerebral palsy. It has been in six homes, none as good as this one.
The home had a very friendly, family feel to it. It was my uncle's birthday all the staff came in to sing Happy Birthday. All staff seemed friendly and to genuinely care about the residents. I only saw the living room but it was clean and pleasant.
My brother has been in the care of Birkdale Park for four months and on each visit that we have made, we have found caring hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere from all we have come in contact with. My brother looks happy and content.
Very friendly carers and staff. Clean and welcoming.
A bright, caring environment with excellent, attentive staff at all levels.
It is a delight and a relief to be able to leave my father at Birkdale Park in the knowledge that he will be looked after and safe 24/7. It provides a warm and stimulating environment. The care home enables him to live with dignity. He has privacy when he requires it and companionship when he wants it. I couldn't recommend it more highly.
They are interested in the residents and their background. They encourage them to take part in activities. A lovely environment. Very clean.
My friend well supported and looked after by the staff.
The home always clean and welcoming.
Thank you for your very kind review it is much appreciated.
My mum always had very high cleanliness standards in terms of how tidy her home was etc and I do struggle to keep her room up to the standard she would expect. I'm not saying it's dirty - not at all- just sometimes, is untidy.
The kitchen staff are great and try their best to accommodate my mum's tastes. I would like her to be more encouraged to take part in resident activities although, I do appreciate how difficult it is with her condition and mobility.
Many thanks for your kind words - we love our residents and love 'Ricky' our rickshaw too.
My father has been a resident for 3 months during this time, the staff have worked hard to help him settle in.
Thank you Carol for your kind words. We love your dad at Birkdale Park. Thank you again.
I would highly recommend Birkdale Park. The management have been wonderful, not only to my Mum but also my needs. The staff work very hard to make sure everyone is cared for.
Clean, homely and friendly with great staff.
I would highly recommend Birkdale Park to anyone. The staff and management couldn't do enough for my mother-in-law and the rest of our family.
She was treated with the utmost dignity and respect and the family was made to feel very welcome and comfortable. We had to stay over a couple of nights and everything possible was done at a difficult and upsetting time and was very much appreciated. Couldn't thank the staff and management enough.
I found every person involved in this establishment to be of the highest regard concerning the health and welfare of my wide in her hours of need. No person from the most menial to the highest of the medical team could have done more to make my wife more comfortable in any way shape or form.
I seek to visit on a regular basis, a member of our church, in residence at Birkdale Park. On each occasion, I find she is dressed smartly and her room is spotless and she is appreciative of the care she receives.
In March '18, I was asked by a funeral director to take the funeral of another resident. A member of staff was most helpful in providing me with an accurate and informative picture of the lady's personality.
All staff were great with her.
The home is run extremely well with the registered Manager on site every day. Nursing staff are wonderful to my mother and care staff very caring. I could not ask for better care and would highly recommend Birkdale Park to anyone.
June thank you so much for your kind review. It is a pleasure to look after mum in our home. Thank you once again.
A good home with caring staff.
Many thanks Chris for your kind review. Very much appreciated.
My mother was very ill when she went to Birkdale Park and she could not have had better care. All of the staff were professional and caring and we felt that we could trust them completely to keep her comfortable and secure. Everyone we met was also very kind to the family, concerned for our feelings and keeping us informed.

Meet the Team (1)

Jonathan is the Registered Care Manager and eldest son of the owner Mrs Cunningham. Birkdale Park is very special to Jonathan as it is where he grew up as a child and watched the home convert into a nursing home in the mid 1980s. Room 27 is his old bedroom! Jonathan has had a varied career. He spent 16 years in the Army reaching the rank of Major, he was awarded an MBE in 2010 for operational service and now uses all his leadership skills at Birkdale Park leading his amazing care team. He has been awarded multiple awards for services to social care and is a regular voice and face on radio and TV speaking about his passion for elderly care. He loves his team and his role as a registered care manager. He is the continuity over the care home and provides a calm hand of reassurance to staff, residents and relatives. He describes himself as the 'Captian of the ship' as the buck stops with him. All relatives have his personal mobile number so you have fabulous connection with the home and continual reassurance that your loved one is in good hands.
