Overall Experience
Dad was admitted to Birkdale park in July 2026. . He had come from hospital and was extremely ill after a fall at a previous care facility.
We knew that this was primarily end of life care. From the moment we met the staff it was inviting, courteous. Everybody was really professional and very reassuring. We felt completely confident that dad was in good hands. Dad received excellent 24/7 care. Kitchen baked a cake for dad's 98th birthday. Staff bought a Liverpool balloon for his room.
We were told promptly when Dad did not have long left . All staff handled every matter with sensitivity and compassion; they made us feel like we could've been at home with him in his final hours. They were able to arrange last rites in his room with a staff member on hand to take part while we were travelling up.

Dad spent his last hours comfortable and well cared for. We will always be grateful we chose Birkdale Park and would recommend them to all seeking this kind of care for a loved one

It gave me great comfort that Mum was well cared for, safe and supported at Birkdale during respite care following surgery. The teams were thoughtful and considerate - accommodating specific dietary requirements and even making her a birthday cake.

We, as a Family, cannot thank All the Staff enough for the loving/excellent care they have provided for Mum over the last 2.5 years she spent at Birkdale Park. They became our "friends" and made us feel so welcome when we visited, nothing was too much trouble and they gave us Mum this extra time from when she arrived so very poorly from hospital - Thank You! It is a lovely, friendly home and we highly recommend to anyone if they are considering a Nursing Home for a loved one xx You will not find a better place were you can walk away each time knowing that your loved one is being look after and cared for so well - Best Wishes to you All - John, Andrew and Annmarie & Family XXX

I would like to thank all the staff at Birkdale Park, who went above and beyond in the care for my mum over the past two and half years or so. Everyone at Birkdale Park took my mum to their hearts. Everyone was so caring and professional. What a fantastically, well run nursing home. I can't speak highly enough of everyone. We, as a familly will miss you all and we'll pop in again to say hello. Thanks you so much.
Kind Regards,

Andy

I cannot praise the care my Dad receives at Birkdale Park highly enough. All the staff are so kind and caring. When ever I visit they can't do enough for me and I am always welcomed like a member of the family. The hygiene and cleanliness standards cannot be faulted. My Dad is unable to do anthing for himself now and he is aways clean, tidy and comfortable and treated with incredible dignity when I see him. The staff are so kind when they speak to him and always have a smile on their faces and a friendly word.
I do not live locally and having my Dad resident in a Nursing Home where the care is outstanding is a huge weight off my mind as I know they look after him as if he was their own family.

A huge thank you to Jonathan and the whole of the Team at Birkdale Park.

I cannot heap enough praise for the whole team regarding the loving care which has been and continues to be given to my great-Auntie. I am a fortnightly visitor to the home and am always met at reception with a welcome smile and " how are you"?

My Auntie has many eccentricities and the home always does its best to accommodate her. My family is kept updated as to her care needs. I don't know any other home where the owner/manager can be found encouraging the residents to join in in a sing-a-long while Jonathan plays the ukulele. Furthermore, it is simply a unique experience for the residents to be taken out on the homes rickshaw whenever the weather permits. My Auntie isn't just a resident, the whole team make her feel like she is part of the Birkdale Park family and therefore Birkdale Park truly has become her home.

We asked to put mum in at very short notice, due to her sudden decline in health and her added anxiety of being home alone at night. I approached BP, as I knew it had a good reputation. They were fantastic and took her in straight away. Johnathon and all the staff were fantastic. She has made a good recovery with all their care and attention, so good that she really perked up, so that now she has left BP Nursing Home and moved to a rest home.

I can't recommend them enough.
