Dale Park care home, situated in Southport, Merseyside supports older people to lead their best lives with personalised dementia care.

The friendly and newly-refurbished home is comprised of several separate living areas which provide a choice of places in which residents can relax, dine or be creative. The pretty garden, which includes a sensory area, is a favourite spot for residents wishing to take some air and enjoy the company of friends and family. It is also frequently used during the warmer weather for events such as BBQs and Summer Fayres. Dale Park's hairdressing salon and beautiful patio are popular among residents.

A dedicated and professional care team at Dale Park strive to offer support that not only covers residents' care needs but also encourages them to live a fulfilled and happy lifestyle. By taking the time to get to know residents, they design a varied activity programme, offering those living in the home plenty of opportunities to enjoy the things they love most. The catering team also take the same approach, understanding that nutritional needs will be different for each person they create a range of delicious meals to ensure a lovely dining experience for all residents, centred around dietary requirements as well as personal preferences.

From day one, all staff and senior nurses have been amazing in the care which was provided to my stepmother. They excelled themselves during COVID times, a credit to your organisation. My stepmother's palliative care was exceptional, going above and beyond in facilitating WhatsApp and Facetime calls
with family members, in our opinion, there isn't a better Elderly Mentally Infirm home in the area.

Dale Park cared for my Mum during the final two years of her life and did a great job of providing some level of rehabilitation after a very difficult stay in hospital. Mum was well cared for and I always found the home very welcoming during my visits until the closure of all care homes due to Covid-19.
It isn't the smartest of care homes but I found that the staff were caring and helpful. The nursing staff were always happy to discuss Mum's requirements and kept me informed of any issues regarding her care. The home supported us during my Mum's final days and we were able to be with her for most of the time and in her final hours - although she did not require any additional medication, we were told this was available if required and Mum received regular personal care.

Dale Park Care Home is a very friendly home. The staff are all very nice and approachable, if there is an issue it is dealt with efficiently and to my satisfaction. Be warned, don't even deserve one star. End of life care for my father was disgraceful. I was begging for painkillers for my father. Had to ask for his bed to be changed and the staff who changed his bed glared at us and told us to leave the room and we heard my father cry out in pain, he died two hours
later. Holes in sheets, bin not emptied, dad not turned and same clothes on for 2 days. Hard to get through to anyone on the phone, my mum was stressed trying to get through most days.

The team at Dale Park showed the highest level of professionalism whilst caring for our Dad. He was treated with dignity and compassion. Dad and the family were warmly welcomed into the home. On each visit, we were given an update and we were involved in Dad's care plan throughout his stay. It is a

I had an emergency at home and left without any power until an electrician could attend, as my mother had a hospital bed I knew she would be unable to stay without electricity. I contacted Dale Park who arrived within half an hour to collect my mother. I am so impressed without warning they could accommodate
as such short notice. I cannot fault.

Dad's care has always been to the highest standard. It's his 80th birthday and all the staff, including kitchen staff, have gone out of their way for him, even though due to dementia he doesn't know it's his birthday.

My friend has been in here for a couple of months and I visit him once or twice a week and I find the staff very friendly and the care they have for my friend is second to none. Our father spent 2 years and 2 months at Dale Park. Despite a diagnosis of vascular dementia and deteriorating mobility, Dale Park staff brought about happy days for him in the last weeks of his life. Their nursing expertise and caring attitude helped him pass away peacefully.
- Good communication
with family and health professionals advocacy for daddy when in crisis.
- Always treated daddy as an individual and with dignity, helping to maintain and encourage his outgoing personality.
- Detailed care plan, arranged by the nurse, which was implemented. Wish to nominate as worker of the month 1 year.
- The activities, music, social days out, events, alleviated the symptoms of dementia, helping him to maintain a positive outlook on life.
In conclusion, every member of staff (nursing, caring, domestic, kitchen) did their best in looking after our father. It was a true team approach and as a family, we will always have happy memories of Dale Park.

I am very happy with mum being in Dale Park. The staff are all excellent and the care they give is second to none. The manager clearly knows how to run a very good home. I wouldn't consider putting her anywhere else whilst the level of care, respect and dignity is so high here.

What does kindness mean to you?


“Positive interactions, smiles on faces, working together and communicating well. Being able to spend time with the Residents and finding out about them; involvement and inclusion.”


As a Registered Nurse, Andrea has gained many years of experience in providing care and support for older people to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest possible standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Andrea shares that HC-One’s vision is aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She uses her experience to motivate her team to deliver care and support in a way that Residents gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked why she chose to work in the care sector, Andrea remarked:


“I really love people. I have all the time in the world to give. There is nothing better than making someone’s day special or being able to just listen and offer company and kindness.”


Outside of work, Andrea enjoys spending time with her three children, travelling and visiting new places, including Barbados and Dubai. She also likes trying new food from different countries and learning about new cultures.
