Overall, I find the care home to be really good. They are in the middle of a full refurbishment at the moment and it can sometimes be a little noisy, although they do try to minimise the disruption.
The en-suite rooms are lovely, with a nice bathroom. Unfortunately, my mother can't use hers due to
being bedbound.
The staff are always friendly, although some are a little hard to understand sometimes.

Both of my parents came to the home - my father needed nursing care, and my mum respite following my father's illness. They have both been treated with dignity, respect and genuine care and attention. My father sadly passed away in May, and the whole family was supported by all the staff. My mum is
now residential, and the whole unit has a warm family feel with their individual needs cared for. The staff have all become part of our family, and everyone is encouraged to be a part of the community. One of the best reviews came from a paramedic transporting my father to the hospital one night - "I've never seen a care home that takes as much time and care to prepare the patient for the journey".

My mum has been in Bebington Care Home for three years, during this time her dementia has got worse and the pandemic has not helped because of the lack of family visits. Despite this, her care is all we could ask for and expect during this time. We hope things will get back to normal as soon as possible
and we can resume more visits.
Reply from Olivia Shields, Marketing Assistant at Bebington Care HomeThank you, Theresa, for your comments about your recent experience at our home. Our residents’ wellbeing is our main priority and it is great to hear that you are so pleased with the quality of our care.
Due to restrictions placed upon us by government and local guidance to keep everyone safe during the pandemic we had to restrict visits to our home for the safety and wellbeing of our residents. We know how difficult this was for families and residents so are now delighted to be able to welcome family members back into our home for regular, safe face-to-face visits. Thank you again, if there is anything more we can do please contact us at the home.

Staff are always friendly and obviously care very much for the health and well being of their residents.
Mother's room is always clean and tidy as are the main lounge and corridors.
Downstairs the decor is very welcoming and feels comfortable when entering the building, calming even.

Have been able to see Mum face to face for the last 2 visits. There are systems in place to ensure contact is safe and secure. Staff are very helpful and polite. The regular contact from the care home has vastly improved (via post, email and telephone) over the last 6 months. Mum is a very private person
and doesn't like moving from her room, but staff ensure she is visited in her room as much as possible. Cleanliness in her room before COVID seemed an issue, but has improved of late. I know staff care for Mum and I'm happy now with how the care home is being run.

Not having been inside the home visiting my husband because of Covid-19 for nearly a year. My observation has to be based on my experiences when I visited 3-4 times a week prior to that. When I have seen my husband since lockdown he has always been well presented and looked after well and happy. The
staff with him appeared as caring as ever and he related well to them.

The staff are supportive and friendly to both residents and family. They try to accommodate the requests of the family to tailor care to the specific needs of the residents. Our sister always looks physically neat and well cared for. With regards to activities, these have become more diverse and of
regular, which makes the residents more able to access interests which appeal to them.

It is very difficult to write a full review as the home is shut to visitors. From what we know Mum is well looked after and is fine in herself. In the current environment, it is pleasing to see the excellent efforts of the staff to comfort the residents in the absence of families.

My mum has been a resident at Bebington for five and a half years. When moving there, she had come from six months in hospital/care setting. Initially, the support she received ensured that her physical/emotional and medical condition all improved. She has also been supported very well through a few
illnesses and a flare-up of a medical condition. She has been very happy at Bebington, often reporting verbally that the "Queen could not have better care and support". My quote below that management is 'good' is mostly to reflect recent management changes - I hope that the new manager appointment improves this.

My mother spent about nine to ten months with you. Whenever I visited, she seemed content and well cared for.
The staff were always happy and willing to transfer Mum to a wheelchair so I could take her back to her room if we wished for a quiet chat.
The compassion shown to Mum and my sisters and I
as she neared the end of her life was wonderful, from all the staff. You helped to ease her passing and make it as easy and peaceful for all of us as possible.
Thank you.
Reply from Ronnie Cavanagh, Marketing at Bebington Care HomeThank you for your kind comments about our Care team. We appreciate you taking the time to leave feedback for Bebington Care Home. We understand how upsetting it must have been, and are so pleased you felt that our team lived up to expectation and treated your mother with dignity and the compassion she deserved during her time at our home. Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.937)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.937) out of 10 for Bebington Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 59 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 58 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.937 for Bebington Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (663 Excellents x 5) + (25 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (3 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 694 Ratings = 4.937
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bebington Care Home is based on 58 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 80 registered maximum number of service users is 16, which has been reached with 58 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Registered Manager Joined: 2023

I joined Bebington Care Home as the Home Manager in January 2023.

I have a real passion for Bebington Care Home because this is where I began my career in care over 20 years ago as a care assistant.

I have worked in care for a long time, and there are many reasons for this. I love the fact that the smallest of gestures mean the most to others, and if, during the course of my working day I can make others feel valued and genuinely cared for, then I know that I am making a difference to someone’s life. Caring for others is the most rewarding career to have.

I am a perfectionist who enjoys the attention to detail that comes with this job, I like to focus on the standards of attainment required to hold the position that I love.

My door will always be open, I am responsive and ready to help in any way that I can. I both encourage and welcome any feedback that will help us to shape the future of the home.
