The care which my Grandad receives at Bebington Care Home is nothing short of amazing, after my Grandad found the transition into a care home very difficult they have gone above and beyond to care for him as though he is their own family member, we couldn’t ask for more.
As a family, we are so happy
that my Grandad is happy and safe surrounded by lovely staff that make visiting a pleasure all within beautifully renovated facilities.
To all the staff, thank you for everything you do!

My husband entered Bebington Care Home on 7 May. After two days, he started to vomit and diarrhoea and lasted 3 days. No doctor came to see him. On the 6th day, 13 May, he was carried by ambulance to the Hospital. I am questioning the hygiene of the food. I believe my husband ate food that was dodgy
and had a bug. This is not a care home for people needing care to stay.
Reply from Paul Williams, Home Manager at Bebington Care HomeClearly our care did not meet your expectations. For your experience of all this, I do sincerely apologise. I can understand how upsetting this has been for you. I also want to assure you that we take these concerns very seriously and this is not the family experience we strive for. An investigation into this matter included a review of your husband's care records and interviews with the staff that took care of him. The investigation concluded that 1. Your husband was very severely frail (his needs-based coding was Amber) and he became acutely unwell soon after being admitted to the care home. 2. Your husband was in our care for 7 days and was reviewed by a GP on two separate occasions (9th May and again on 11th May) and medication was prescribed. 3. The decision was made to transfer your husband to the hospital due to him having uncontrolled symptoms. 4. Staff attempted to update you numerous times in regards to your husband's condition but you would not engage with them.

I could not wish for a better home for my lovely mum-in-law. The standard of care at Bebington Care Home is outstanding and her needs are always met. She can sometimes become upset but the staff reassure her and always have her smiling again.
All staff in every department are warm and welcoming and
always happy to help. Nothing is too much trouble.
My mother-in-law loves her trips out, the Wednesday pamper days, getting her hair and nails done, and joining in with the many activities on the floor.
Everyone’s birthday is celebrated, so it’s like a whole new, extended family.
Having your loved one go into a home is a scary time, feelings of guilt and the worry that they will not settle. But I truly cannot thank the home enough for everything that they do. My mum-in-law is treated with respect and dignity and we know she is safe and happy.

Mum has been a resident for eighteen months and every one of the staff treats her with the utmost respect and dignity. She is offered choices as much as is possible and her views are taken into account throughout. The senior staff are readily available to deal with issues as and when they occur which
ensures Mum receives appropriate care quickly and efficiently. Communication between the home and the family is prompt and effective when needed and they operate an 'open door' policy which ensures a positive relationship. Mum is very happy and settled in the home which is reassuring for the family.

I think the idea of a regular newsletter keeping relatives and friends updated is a brilliant idea, it allows me the opportunity to send information to my brother who lives in Bedford and cannot visit. The number of different activities is wonderful as there is always something for everyone to get involved
in.
The staff are always friendly and nothing is too much trouble, I always get a phone call to update me if there is any change and always keep informed of any changes.
It is so nice to be made to feel involved even though I may not be able to visit as often as I would like as I live in Wales.

I couldn't wish for any better care for my lovely wife. The staff are so obviously very caring people who get a great deal of satisfaction from the job they do. I can't honestly think of any way the home could be improved. There are plenty of activities going on, the food is excellent and the management
is first-class.

My dad was a resident here for over a year and a half, in that time the home has seen a change in management and a complete refurb. I can honestly say, Dad was so well looked after and cared for even though he could be difficult at times. The staff are all amazing, they go above and beyond for their
residents to make sure they are happy every single day, with daily activities and parties for special occasions (always made a fuss of on their birthdays). The whole team of staff from manager, activities, kitchen, cleaning staff and all the carers are absolutely outstanding. I will be forever grateful for the love and care my dad received in the time he was a resident, as I know he was so thankful for their support.

I have found this home to be safe for my friend. Also, staff and management are pleasant and helpful and go out of their way to help. They are very caring towards all the residents and provide plenty of activities for residents, some of which family and friends can go to. The resident's rooms are a

Mum spent a lot of time in hospital and was very nervous, but having spent a few months at Bebington she is starting to feel really at home. All the staff have been really amazing and have been very patient with her and are always there for her. After a long search it was definitely the right fit and
choice. It's been a long journey and I would definitely recommend them.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.937)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.937) out of 10 for Bebington Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 59 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 58 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.937 for Bebington Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (663 Excellents x 5) + (25 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (3 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 694 Ratings = 4.937
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bebington Care Home is based on 58 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 80 registered maximum number of service users is 16, which has been reached with 58 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Registered Manager Joined: 2023

I joined Bebington Care Home as the Home Manager in January 2023.

I have a real passion for Bebington Care Home because this is where I began my career in care over 20 years ago as a care assistant.

I have worked in care for a long time, and there are many reasons for this. I love the fact that the smallest of gestures mean the most to others, and if, during the course of my working day I can make others feel valued and genuinely cared for, then I know that I am making a difference to someone’s life. Caring for others is the most rewarding career to have.

I am a perfectionist who enjoys the attention to detail that comes with this job, I like to focus on the standards of attainment required to hold the position that I love.

My door will always be open, I am responsive and ready to help in any way that I can. I both encourage and welcome any feedback that will help us to shape the future of the home.
