Lovely care home. Staff are friendly and helpful. Plenty of activities to enable residents regarding interaction and mental stimulation.
Nicely decorated and lovely bright colours. All family now feel confident that Mum is receiving the care and medical attention she deserves.

My nephew was admitted into this care home in 2022 the care that they have received has been fantastic. They are always happy when visited, telling us about things that they have done or had.
I find the staff to always be friendly and approachable, nothing is too much trouble. The management team are
there and respond with care and compassion. So helpful and passionate about their jobs.

My brother-in-law was cared for in this home for several months during his terminal illness. I visited him during his stay. The staff I saw with him were caring and compassionate and treated him with dignity and respect. They took time out of their day to make his stay as comfortable as possible.
The
staff in the home also supported my sister and her children during this challenging time, continuing beyond his death. The help and support they have provided our family are above and beyond that which I expected, and we are truly grateful.

My niece's husband was moved from the hospice to Birch Tree Manor for palliative and end-of-life care in March this year and remained there until his passing in July this year. During this time, the manager and her team gave exceptional care not only to him but also to his wife and their two young daughters.
I live 270 miles from his wife, so wasn't able to give the support that I would have liked to and that she needed, but the manager supported her throughout his time in Birch Tree Manor and continues to support her and the girls since his passing. Being the manager is more than a job to her; she genuinely cares about the residents and their families. I give thanks to the manager and her team for the care and kindness they gave him; I believe it to have been second to none.

This home went above and beyond caring not only for my brother but supporting my sister and nieces.
The manager always took the time to make my sister and our family aware of my brother's changing needs due to his illness and understand fully treatments to support him.
The home was always clean and
tidy when I visited, and other residents seemed happy carrying out the various activities the home offered.
My sister was so worried about choosing a home to support her husband, but there was no better place for him. He was always made comfortable and fully supported to eat and drink when needed.
This home is truly the best home I have had experience dealing with, and I hope the staff and manager know how much I appreciate the support they gave not only to my brother but to my sister too.

My brother-in-law spent a short time here receiving end-of-life care, and the staff were all brilliant. They addressed any worries and concerns our family had immediately and always took the time to listen to my brother-in-law - even if he wasn't making the most sense. They loved hearing about his life
before the home and anything else he wanted to discuss. My sister and nieces had many movies and take-away nights in the home, spending all the time they could there with the support of the staff.
I heard no faults regarding the care they provided, only praise.
The staff, especially the manager, have also been an amazing source of support for my sister and nieces, helping them through this tough time.
I cannot recommend this care home enough.

I can actually say that it was some comfort to know that my young nephew-in-law was being looked after so well by such amazing people. Absolutely no bad things to say about anyone there at all. Everyone needs a medal for the work they do. Living so far away, it was also a comfort to know they were taking
care of his/my family too. They all went above and beyond to help my family deal with such a tragic situation. Thank you so much to each and every one of you.

Since my loved one has been a resident in this nursing home, I have found all staff to be friendly and approachable. Nothing is too much bother for them. If I have any concerns, I know I can speak to any of them.

My Dad has been in the home for over three years and the home is a completely different home from when he first came in. The team care for my dad like it is their own parent and my dad could not be happier in the home.
The management is responsive and forthcoming and honest. The home is in the right
direction and would highly recommend it.
The home is going through refurbishments now and my Dad has brand new flooring in his room.

My Mum has been a resident of Birch Tree Manor since February 2021. It was a very hard decision for us to make but was made easier by the care, patience and understanding of all the staff. My Mum is settled, well looked after and happy. She always seems to be very relaxed and comfortable with everyone
involved in her care. Any medical issues have been dealt with quickly and there seems to be lots going on - even if she doesn’t always want to join in! I also feel that, as a family, we are listened to and any anxieties or concerns that we may have are understood and addressed. I feel very reassured that we made the right choice for our Mum.

My nan is a resident in this care home, she is looked after very well, the carers are very loving and care a great deal for all of the residents.
I have been to management a couple of times with just anxiety issues worrying about my nan they have sat with me and my family and gave us reassurance I

My mum has been in the home since May having declined in health and needed to move from a residential dementia care to a nursing home. The staff are lovely and really care for my mum and the management and the nursing team have assessed her complex needs to ensure that she gets the best care possible.
It was a big adjustment for her and myself having to move homes but my mind has been put at ease that she is now in the right place in her later stages of dementia. I can phone at any time to get an update on mums health and wellbeing in-between visits and receive phone calls to inform of any treatments or check-ups which really helps to feel part of her life and care. We have had a terrible experience here.
My brother-in-law is a resident there. He is a very vulnerable adult with learning difficulties, frontal lobe dementia and PD.
Since moving in Aug 2020:-
He lost almost three stones in nine months and nothing was done - the manager instead chose to call him
a picky eater.
He was sent to the hospital with out of date MAR chart.
He was sent to the hospital with the wrong apomorphine dosage instructions.
He was sent to the hospital without the necessary parts for a medical device.
The care home could not evidence what dose of apomorphine he had been on.
The care home ignored a prescription change for nine months.
The care home recorded a DNAR on his record without confirming end-of-life plans with us. We had no clue the DNAR even existed.
All the above has been upheld by an independent safeguarding investigation.
When we began to ask for further answers and clarification, the manager served a Notice Of Severance.
We would NOT recommend this home based on our experience.

We have responded to this factually due to the libellous claims within it.
Weight Loss -The appropriate referrals were made and this was identified on our stringent monitoring.
MAR Chart - it is not in our jurisdiction to change dosage on a MAR chart. At the time the home and yourself received an apology about this from external medical professionals. This was not a homes error.
Medical Device - Your relative was sent to the hospital with the device. The next day the medication was sent to the hospital due to the hospital being out of stock. Never was a prescribed medication missed.
DNAR - Care homes are not allowed to put one in place. This is dealt exclusively with external agencies and the home would not be able to implement this.
Independent Safeguarding - Never was any safeguarding upheld, and were all found to be unsubstantiated.
Notice of Severance - This was served due to the home not being able to meet the constant demands of the relatives and to protect the staff.

My partner was admitted to the home in June 2019. Throughout the pandemic, communication could not have been better. Bi-weekly calls from the amazing staff kept me fully in the loop. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming now visits are back up and running. The new manager is fantastic and
couldn't sing their praises more. This home is a jewel of Port Sunlight and couldn't recommend it more.

In the sixteen months my husband has been at Birch Tree Manor, he has settled well and is happy living there. The care my relative receives is adequate and I cannot find any faults. If I have had any problems, they have always been dealt with promptly and efficiently by management.
