Safe Harbour Nursing Home Bebington is located in Wirral, Merseyside and provides personal care, dementia nursing care and support to people aged over 65 living with dementia. There are keypad locks on external doors and doors leading to stairwells for safety reasons.

The home is in a purpose-built detached building in a residential road in Bebington, Wirral. There are courtyard gardens in the centre of the home and small well-maintained grounds around the building, as well as a car park located to the side.

The home has 47 bedrooms over two floors, some of which are en-suite with toilet and sink and there is access to each floor via a lift. Each floor has its own dining room and lounge. They care for both Residential and Nursing care Ladies and Gents.

There is a secure garden, with a ramp up to the 'Lighthouse', a building with electricity and water that is used in the warmer months. They offer a private dining area for celebrations and encourage families to join in with monthly events. This also allows them to raise money for the fabulous activities team.

My Mum was in Safe Harbour for almost a year (January to November 2025). The whole team were amazing. They looked after her with such kindness and compassion. I can't fault the support, cleanliness and activities at the home. The carers could not have been more caring and the entertainment team
were fun and encouraging. You could find a home with more polished and "posh" decor (many look like 5 star hotels!). Safe Harbour is simple and functional, it's nothing fancy to look at, but it's the warmth that you get from the carers that counts and my mum and I felt that from the moment we stepped in the door to visit until her last days. The residents are all happy and well cared for and that is obvious to see when you meet them along with their relatives.
Reply from Holly Dooley, HR Manager at Safe Harbour Dementia Care Home BebingtonThank you for your lovely review, only today was Mum's name mentioned in conversation. We absolutely can not be described as posh but our team is outstanding and we're glad you think so too. Thank you for your support, we really appreciate the feedback and positive comments.

My Mother Rita, entered Safe Harbour care some time ago. The best thing I can say that they look after her as if she was their own Mother. They have always gone that extra mile and have been so kind to her. I don't live locally anymore so don't see her as much as I would like. However my brothers and
sisters visit virtually every day and the staff keep them fully briefed on my Mum's health

Through their own initiatives they set up so many activities to coincide with what ever going on currently Grand National, Pancake day , Wimbledon. Eurovision etc which my Mum really enjoys. My family had a pretty traumatic time in the lead up to a mum going to Safe Harbour and we have had not had a seconds regret. She seemed happier at SF than she ever has.

Have moved away and having lived and worked around the country and I thinwhat makes Safe Harbours special is the staff. They all very special blend Merseyside warmth, kindness and humour. We as a family , I know are very grateful

Reply from Holly Dooley, HR Manager at Safe Harbour Dementia Care Home BebingtonThank you for your thoughtful review. Mum is well loved and is very settled with us. Her smile and laugh is infectious, it is clear why she is so adored by all of her children as she is the loveliest lady. We do see your siblings everyday and they too are lovely and supportive. Mum really enjoyed our trip to watch spirit of the blitz and waved her flag throughout each song. Thank you for all the support from yourself and the whole family.

My friend is well looked after. I am no longer worried for her safety. There are many kind staff looking after my friend and the staff make the effort to know me too. I can come and go any time of day when it is convenient to my friend and myself. A member of staff will always update me if needed, and
I can pass on any concerns that my friend, or I have.
My friend has a very pleasant room with a television. The staff arrange for the chiropodist and hairdresser for my friend when needed and when my friend agrees.
Reply from Holly Dooley, HR Manager at Safe Harbour Dementia Care Home BebingtonThank you for your kind review. It is lovely to receive a review from a friend as almost every review we receive is from family member. I'm glad you are made to feel welcome and that you are happy your friend is well cared for. There are not the words to say how amazing the staff are at Safe Harbour. They all go above and beyond their duties. I have observed them on a daily basis and they all genuinely care about every person there . Looking for a care home for someone you love is the most worrying experience. I looked at
many and am so pleased I decided on Safe Harbour. My brother is safe and loved and well cared for. Every member of staff from the people who make sure the rooms are spotlessly clean, clothes washed daily and catering are amazing .
Reply from Holly Dooley, HR Manager at Safe Harbour Dementia Care Home BebingtonThank you for a fabulous review. The whole team are fabulous aren't they, that's why it works so well. You've been a great support to us since the day you came, we really are grateful for all your help

My Mother is a resident at Safe Harbour Dementia Care Home. She has been a resident for nearly five and a half years.
I would love to say it has become a secure & happy home for her.
The staff are amazing & are very caring with all the residents including My Mum, nothing is too much trouble.
When
I visit they make me feel welcome & are very accommodating. My visits are only two to three times a year as I live away, so each visit is precious to me.
I would highly recommend Safe Harbour to anyone who is looking for care for their loved ones.
Reply from Holly Dooley, HR Manager at Safe Harbour Dementia Care Home BebingtonThank you for your review, and your support on on our social media pages. Amazing staff who care deeply about their work. Always going above and beyond to care for my brother. Making our visits easier and always supportive to our family.
They are caring for brother at the most vulnerable time in his life, we couldn't be prouder of them for all they do for him. They
show dignity and respect at all times and we are so happy.
I love seeing what they do during the day on social media.
Reply from Holly Dooley, HR Manager at Safe Harbour Dementia Care Home BebingtonThank you for a lovely review. Your brother has been such a big part of the activities offered since he arrived, this is much less now so he is on social media less but he does still have one to one and will continue to do so as long as he wants to. My Father paddy lived here until he passed last year for the 7 years he lived there he was treated as part of the family as were we, during his final days we were given so much support and space to get time alone with dad nothing was too much trouble they made sure we had plenty of tea and sandwiches
and lots of emotional support , the level of care my dad received was outstanding, he was always treated with respect and dignity upheld, we were always informed of changes in his condition and included in decisions regarding his care this is an excellent care home! Thank you to all the staff and especially Holly who has been a constant source of support to my family even following my dads sad passing
Reply from Holly Dooley, HR Manager at Safe Harbour Dementia Care Home BebingtonThank you for this lovely review. After 3 years of being very well taken care of, we agreed for mum to pass at the home as well. I could not think of a better place for her to leave us. She had every need taken care of right up to the end and the staff were devoted to her needs. It proved to be so peaceful and she was surrounded
by goodwill and care.
She enjoyed being at the home and it is a tribute to their care that her dementia didn't get much worse over the years she was there and mum was smiley and happy. If you're after the best care and that is your priority I couldn't recommend Safeharbour more.

My Dad came to Safe Harbour in June 2025 and settled straight in to life there. The staff are extremely welcoming, hard working, supportive and very caring to not only the residents but also the families who visit.
His previous care home could no longer support his needs and it was very upsetting
having to move him, but it has turned out to be for the best. He is constantly stimulated through out the day with all the various activities on offer, and if he wishes for a quiet time then he retires to his room.
It is a very clean building that always smells fresh & clean.
All the staff from the management to carers, cleaners, maintenance, catering etc are very hard working and always polite and pleasant.
I am very happy that my dad is now being looked after here. I can leave after a visit knowing that he is, in his own words
'very content'.
Reply from Holly Dooley, HR Manager at Safe Harbour Dementia Care Home BebingtonThank you for your lovely review. My wife has been at Safe Harbour care home for nearly 18 months now and I must say that the care and treatment she has received has been given with tenderness dignity and professionalism. I visit my wife on a frequent basis and I've been able to observe pretty much all of the staff in action at one
time or another, and it's obvious that they all display a level of very good Care.
My wife is both non-verbal and immobile but the activities team still find ways to include her and the care staff make sure that there are lots of laughter and good humour moments.
If you are looking for something with a Fancy Reception Area and 4star rooms, then Safe Harbour isn't the place for you, however if it's real care with kind, warm, well trained staff you won't go wrong.
Reply from Holly Dooley, HR Manager at Safe Harbour Dementia Care Home BebingtonThank you for the review. It is true, the home is more substance over style but we have a homely feel for certain. Excellent care received by my mum who has been a resident now for nearly 4 years
My mother in law also a resident for the last 2 years. We cannot fault the carehome at all right from the management to every staff member. They are friendly and so kind and you leave feeling your loved ones are cherished
Thank you and keep up the good work!

Cannot thank everyone enough for the love and care they give my mum. When my mum entered the home in October 2025, she was very confused, agitated and very depressed, the staff realised this and so arranged to change her medication, I now have a much happier mum! I love that its the same people every
day dealing with mum, and thats my point, its the care that counts, not a shiny environment.
I go daily so I see a lot, every day there is entertainment on, tea, biscuits and chocolate, the staff try to make the day fun and entertaining for everyone, in fact, when I retire, I want to work there!
Reply from Holly Dooley, HR Manager at Safe Harbour Dementia Care Home BebingtonThank you for a lovely review, but who are you kidding? Retire? Never! Jokes aside, Mum is so much more settled in what she believes is a 5 star hotel, she certainly is happier and that can be seen during the activities and on the photos. Mum is very lucky to have a lovely family surrounding her who are involved in everyday care. You are a lovely family to have with us and we thank you for your support.

What can I say about the wonderful staff at safe harbour?
My dad was a resident here for nearly 8 years, he was treated with such care, love and dignity and I never had a complaint, and as a family member, was kept advised of everything in dad's care and his day to day routine. Staff always found
ways to entertain all residents and even when dad became bed bound, he was given such care and love and 1-2-1 attention such as sensory lights, pampers and music sessions, etc.
My dad did pass away 12 months ago but I still feel this review is relevant to now, as I continue to visit for fundraisers and can still feel the love and care from the minute I walk through the door.
Such an amazing team and I wholeheartedly recommend this fabulous care home for loved ones.
Reply from Holly Dooley, HR Manager at Safe Harbour Dementia Care Home BebingtonThank you for this lovely review. We love that you still join us for the family events. Once a family member, always a family member. You and your sister have been a great support to us, I often think of the trip to the art gallery when you both came with us and many times you have sent items via Amazon for the activities and even personal care items. We can't thank you enough for being so wonderful. Dad will forever be missed too.

My Mum received loving and kind care at Safe Harbour.
I was always welcome to visit, and often joined in with the activities.
The activities coordinators are fab, working so hard to provide stimulating and fun activities for all the residents.
The care staff are wonderful, providing support when needed,
but encouraging independence for as long as possible.
Management are present, and take an active interest in the residents, chatting with them, and ensuring their needs are met.
All the staff pull together for the benefit of the residents.
Thank you for everything

My nan moved to safe harbour last year and the level of care she has received has been phenomenal! She has not been this happy in years, and you can tell the staff are so dedicated, knowledgeable, and supportive to each service user there.
It was recently her birthday, and they even arranged a birthday
party for all our family to come, provided the decorations, cake, tea and coffee and made it a special day for everyone.
The home is cleaner than any i've seen, and the rooms are lovely.
There are constant activities on for the users there, which is so reassuring and lovely to see.
Couldn't wish for a better place for my nan to be. 10/10!

My aunt's mood in the main has been better since being at safe harbour. I have, so far, always found her in the lounge, whereas prior to this, in her own home, she had mostly taken to her bed, which affected her mood. The staff have always been kind and helpful, even putting up very well with her grumpy,
complaining times (which is nothing new!).

My Mum and Dad lived at Safe Harbour Dementia Care Home Bebington between April 2023 and June 2025.
Every aspect of their care and wellbeing was catered for by all of the caring, dedicated staff.
Mum and dad felt at home at all times, they were able to treat the staff as friends, they were treated with
dignity and respect at all times. Staff went out of their way to facilitate requests made by us regarding hospital visits and other outings and events. Mum and dad enjoyed the extensive activities and enrichment sessions and the regular visits from musicians, performers and exhibitor's laid on by the dedicated activities team.
Feed back from staff at all levels was well communicated and we always felt reassured that we knew what was going on.
When my dad was in end of life care we were very happy that he was at Safe Harbour with staff who he knew and we all trusted.
Our family is very grateful for the care which Mum and Dad received during their stay at Safe Harbour.
Reply from Holly Dooley, HR Manager at Safe Harbour Dementia Care Home BebingtonThank you for a kind review. Having Mum and dad with us was so heartwarming watching them enjoy activities together. The staff at Safe Harbour are amazing, & provide excellent care for my mum. Nothing is too much trouble & goes beyond outstanding.

Looking for a care home was really hard , I visited many & came away despondent. Mums condition comes with challenging behaviour & many homes said they

couldn't meet her needs

Then the SW mentioned Safe Harbour. It was a pleasure to visit such a warm , welcoming, spotless & bright home set in lovely surroundings. Straight away we felt so welcome & most importantly not made to feel like mums behaviour would be a problem

Mum is settled, happy & loves being with people who are always smiling & supporting her quality of life. Her room is bright & everywhere so homely . The team have taken the time to really get to know her & what makes her happy..

Management, care team & activities team are all amazing & there are lots of activities for residents & families to enjoy

Knowing mum's safe, cared for & happy is all we could ask for.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.936 for Safe Harbour Dementia Care Home Bebington is calculated as follows: ( (265 Excellents x 5) + (18 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 283 Ratings = 4.936
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Safe Harbour Dementia Care Home Bebington is based on 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 47 registered maximum number of service users is 9.4, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
