From the moment, first entered the home I was very impressed with the level of care and attention by all staff. This has only increased over the time. Have been going to see my father.

I am extremely happy in the knowledge that my father is in good hands and being well looked after which a huge comfort to me.

My experience of Windy Knowe is extremely positive. The care provided to my wife is of a very high standard. The meals are varied and well prepared, and the appropriate assistance is provided to residents during mealtime. The very best attribute of Windy Knowe is the wonderful staff who are very well led. I have always found each and every member of the Windy Knowe team to be most caring, courteous and easy to talk to. They often ask after my welfare showing a wider concern for family members as well as residents.

My lovely sister-in-law has been at Windy Knowe for nearly 2 years. It's the best thing we have done for her; her care from the staff is outstanding, and they treat her as if she were family. The place doesn't feel like a home, but an extension of her own home; the food is lovely, the entertainment is always on the go, so she is never left to her own devices. Would highly recommend.

Windy Knowe is an excellent home, and I have nothing but praise for the staff. I have found them all, without exception, caring and understanding of my husband's needs. He loves the activities, is well fed and clean, and despite a limited awareness of his situation, seems content. Whenever I visit, staff take the time to speak to me, update me on what he has been doing and offer me coffee! I am so grateful for everything they do for him. All of the family comments on the atmosphere in the home and how welcome they feel.

I can not praise all of the team at Windy Knowe enough, from the Caterers to Housekeeping, Carers to Nurses and all of the Management and Entertainment team.
I was full of anxiety and worry that Dad would struggle to settle into a care home setting. How wrong I was ! From the minute Dad arrived through the door he was met with smiles, dignity and a professionalism that has kept him extremely happy, safe and very well.
Every person who works here is most definitely suited to their role and shows such warmth, compassion and good humour which is so important to my Dad and myself. All of the team work with a smile on their face and they all have time to say hello and let me know how Dad has been that day.

The endless activities sometimes have Dad thinking that he is in a club or even on holiday which brings me pure joy. It was such a hard decision to put Dad into care but I am so thankful to have found such a wonderful place so Dad can be happy in his remaining years. THANK YOU

I cannot thank the staff enough. The care, love, support, and listening to family it is above and beyond. Thank you for your kindness and for how they treat the residents; it is truly amazing and compassionate. I sleep at night knowing my dad is comfortable, safe and happily cared for. The nursing home is a credit, and I am so very grateful. The food is better than I have at my home, never hungry, always with so much to eat. Activities amazing. Thank you, Alison. I'm happy my dad is with you. Christina.

All the staff at Windy Knows Care Home have welcomed my mum with open arms into their lovely, homely home. Mum is known by all the staff who address her by name, and always stop for a little chat and a dance! Mum is encouraged to join in the daily activities, and we have recently joined mum on a day trip to the garden centre, memories my sister and I treasure. Thank you to everyone for caring for mum

Windy Knowe is a good nursing home. We have found the staff and carers to be very friendly, and they provide a good level of care to Mum. We love that we are able to mix freely within the home. The new activity coordinator has been a great asset to the team, providing stimulation for the residents. The areas that need improvement are the laundry. Quite a few items of Mum's clothes have gone missing over time, even though everything is clearly labelled. Also, Mum's evening meal is often cold by the time she receives it. The process and delivery of the meals need to be thought through. On the whole, we would recommend Windy Knowe to other users.

On April 5th my daughter was visiting my mum her nan, they were sat in the day lounge. A male resident came in and fell to the floor and was banging for help. The only staff around was a lady from the kitchen who was helping someone else and a cleaner. The lady from the kitchen rang the alarm for help but no one came . My daughter had to struggle by herself to try and help the man to get up as no member of staff could be found. This is not acceptable and certainly not safe for the residents, how could the residents be left without trained staff around in case of such an incident.

This has to be the best home I have ever been to. My father was moved in due to having an above-knee amputation. Nothing is too much trouble for them. My parents celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary. They provided us with a private room to celebrate in. They surprised them with a cake, card, flower and a bottle of prosecco. They are the most caring staff I have ever known and my dad happily calls it home.

Meet the Team (1)

Samantha Hamon
Samantha HamonJob Title:Registered Home ManagerJoined: 2025

Samantha has recently joined the team at Windy Knowe, and we are so excited to see her flourish in her new role with Springcare!

Having started her career in Health and Social Care following in her family's footsteps, Sam has progressed her career to Home Manager from being a Care Assistant straight out of college, achieving her life dream along the way.

I have worked in health and social care for 12 years, and I have been in a Home Manager role since July 2021. I love the open, honest and transparent approach of the company. I appreciate the guidance from my Senior Management Team and love the friendly feel of the care homes in the group. I like that I can support others in their journey and career within the company, and that I can support our residents to have the best life possible whilst living at Windy Knowe.

I am a family person, and when I’m not working, I spend a lot of my time with family and friends. My biggest achievement outside of work is a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Disney World, Florida, sharing memories with family.

I completed a trident in high school at a care home near where I lived. I went straight from school into college to study Health and Social Care, being successful in an apprenticeship. Following the apprenticeship ending, I was offered a permanent role.

My passion has always been to succeed in my career and become a Home Manager by the time I reach 30 – that dream came true!!!

I was a Care Assistant until 2016 and achieved my Level 2 & 3 in Health & Social Care. I then trained as a Care Home Assistant Practitioner until 2019, and then became a Regional CHAP Facilitator and achieved my Level 5 in Management. In 2020, I then returned to working in a care home, and over the course of a year, became Unit Manager, Acting Home Manager, and Deputy Manager, reaching my end goal in 2021 of becoming a home manager.
