I have never experienced such a friendly, caring management and staff in any other care home I have visited. I am extremely pleased that she was moved into Hollymere House Care Home and not kept in hospital as the care and support would be nothing like she receives here.

My aunt was a resident of Hollymere House for a brief time after coming out of hospital and before she died. Prior to admission, I thought her needs were at the forefront of our discussions. She and I were treated with consideration and kindness. My aunt had numerous, serious medical conditions and required help with all her personal care needs, this was provided with gentleness and good humour. At the end of my aunt's life, we were given support, events were explained to me with care, professionalism and kindness.

The location of the home is very convenient, close to the doctor's surgery/pharmacy and pleasantly situated. Overall it provided good care, accommodation and nourishing food. It appeared to be well run and administered efficiently. The availability of 24hour care gave us peace of mind for my ageing mother.

After viewing several care homes for my mother we jointly decided that Hollymere was the best choice for many reasons especially the warm welcome and highly skilled team. Mother is settling very well with her needs being catered for in every way.

My father's care at Hollymere up to date has been very good. He is being well looked after and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food is excellent and enjoy's his afternoon treat eg sweets, strawberries and cream cakes. My only constructive feedback is that there is a strong odour when walking through the central corridor to the resident's lounge, but this is probably caused by the close proximity of the resident's bedroom.

The staff work very very hard, people do not realise what goes on behind the scenes, say for instance residents pick a tummy bug up, there's double the work unless you see for yourself you don't appreciate what they do. I assist at meal times most residents need help with their individual needs. Residents can be very demanding and I think the staff handle it well. The staff get things the residents ask for in their own time e.g. toiletries. The food always looks appetising and always presented well. We have a new manager who thanks the staff for their hard work and is very approachable.

My dad has been in the care home for 12 months and he has improved since he went to Hollymere. The staff are friendly and helpful, always having banter with my dad. The food is good and although there are slight issues with understaffing, it's an excellent environment overall.

Overall care is good. I am checked regularly and competently by the nurse. I would like carers to spend more time carrying out care but appreciate staffing levels and patient levels.

From the program on the TV that I saw last week and heard it's terrible. This home is top home compared to them. I feel like I'm in my own home, able to do anything, ask for anything and have freedom of doing things and my voice can be heard. If I asked for something or wanted anything special they will do it for me. My daughter picked Hollymere House Care Home for me and she said it's the best. I've been here nearly 6 years, when I arrived at Hollymere House Care Home I was very poorly, bedbound, malnourished but now I am as I consider, independent...I am recommending this home to anyone.

Staff in the care home work extremely hard. Lot's of daily situations can cause them to be rushed for time but makes sure all care needs are met and each resident's individual needs are met. Lovely new manager, very approachable and lets the staff know how thanked they are for all their hard work.

The management and staff treat my mother with great care and dignity. The nursing staff are very professional and always keep me informed of any changes to my mother's health. Nothing is too much trouble and everyone is very caring, very pleasant and cheerful - so pleased I was able to secure a place for my mother. Can't thank everyone enough for their kindness.

Mum was in Hollymere House from March 16 - July16, when she died. The staff were all kind, caring and compassionate, in particular, a nurse and a recently appointed manager. They kept me informed regarding mums situation during the week when I was unable to visit as I live 150+ miles away. My only concern would be that sometimes the shortage of staff as mum would have to wait to go to the toilet and the general cleaning. The resident's kitchen was a DISGRACE. I did take this up (in the comments book) and mentioned to the manager when mum died. Also, I felt her room was not always clean. Bathrooms need updating. Care, however, is the priority and this is good.

I have been impressed with the level of care here at Hollymere. Nothing is too much trouble. Mum has fallen and the level of care and consideration were given to her has been exemplary. I have visited at different times of the day to check how mum is but to also confirm that she has good care. The open door policy is brilliant and everything here is well organised and I do have to say that everyone whenever I have called in has been working hard. It's always busy but the care and attention that other residents also receive are heartening to see. It is a credit to the manager here he is always checking that everything is running smoothly and efficiently. I would recommend the home to anyone.

My mum has been a resident of Hollymere Nursing Home at Halsington Cheshire since February 2015. Once she became accustomed to the routine of the home and the staff became familiar to her, she settled in very well. The staff know what she liked to wear, where she wanted to sit and she enjoyed having a bath and her hair done. Since January 2016 Mum has been very poorly on numerous occasions and is now much weaker. The carers are all so kind to both mum and myself, if we need anything they will do it for us. When the carers are on duty either upstairs or downstairs they will come in mums room for a word or two and she responds to them sometimes better than to me.
