My father became a resident of Lawton Manor in June 2023. We had cared for Dad at home till then but couldn’t carry on as Dad’s needs were too much. From the moment we viewed Lawton Manor, we knew it was right for Dad. The staff were extremely supportive and helpful. Dad moved in, and he has been cared for in a very caring and professional way; we can’t fault it. He is settled and very happy and content; it is lovely to see. All the residents are treated with dignity and respect. All the staff work extremely hard to ensure this, from management, nurses, carers, catering, entertainment and housekeeping. We cannot thank them enough for everything they do.
Thank you for taking the time to review our home; it is very appreciated, as all feedback is valued. Thank you also for your positive comments regarding our home and team, who work hard to deliver high standards of quality care at all times. We are so glad your father is happy at Lawton Manor, and I will pass on your feedback to the team.
Before choosing a care home for my father, my sister and I visited several within the area. Lawton Manor appeared to be the most suitable, and we knew our dad would be happy in this home. We have not been disappointed, as from the outset, all our expectations have been realised. The staff at Lawton Manor are friendly to both residents and visitors alike and give care and attention to each and every one when required. There are frequent activities ranging from Bingo, quiz games, singing and musical entertainment and encourage companionship and interaction with other residents. The location of this home is set in picturesque surroundings, and residents enjoy fresh air on sunny days. My father's bedroom is clean and furnished with quality furniture, television and bathroom facilities, and his personal cleanliness is paramount. His clothing is washed and ironed and returned to the wardrobe. Dad eats in the main restaurant, and the food is good. It is a joy to see how he has settled in already.
Thank you for taking the time to review our home and for your kind comments about your recent experience at Lawton Manor. Our residents’ well-being is our main priority, and it is great to hear that you are so pleased with the quality of our care. We are very pleased to hear that you had a positive...
My mother came to live at Lawton Manor Care Home two years ago now and I can honestly say she has been loved and nurtured to her optimum health and well-being. My mum was and remains fragile, a lady in her 90s, so vulnerable and yet I have total faith in the care of the team at Lawton Manor that all her needs are taken care of. It does not matter what time of the day or night I visit, the evidence of Mum's care is always plain to see. I could not wish for any more as far as comfort and compassion go. Last year my dad was able to join her here which has enabled me to keep a promise to do all I could to keep them together.

My gran had respite in the home recently and she described her stay as staying in a 5 star hotel and she will definitely return for future stays.
We are so impressed with everything and would highly recommend the home for anyone looking for “a holiday home” or “forever home” for their loved one.

Such a professional team of people who work at Lawton. Every team member responds to anything requested of them. Safe, friendly and very welcoming home, very in tune with how to treat visitors and residents. This home has made me feel relaxed about having a loved one in their care and has eased stressed family members. Thanks to everyone who works there.

This is my fourth respite stay at Lawton Manor. Each time I feel welcome, safe and cared for. The staff try hard to support the person you are and go the extra mile to help. I live alone and always return home feeling more confident, knowing that I can call on them for help if I need to return to regain my strength. They are a trusted part of my ongoing care. I highly recommend them.

Possibly communication between myself and the care staff could be improved upon. One employee, the activities assistant, in particular, stands out as extremely kind and caring, she encourages dad with the activities.

It looks like a beautiful home to live in. My friend's room was clean and tidy and her bed and nightdress were changed as a cup of water had leaked. The staff were very helpful.

Lawton Manor has made my mum happy and secure. This last week she has been ill and her care and attention have been marvellous. Her infirmities, acute deafness and very bad sight could isolate her but care has been taken to involve her in activities and conversations. We, the family have always been made welcome.

I cannot speak too highly of the care my mum is receiving. All the staff from the manager, to carers, nurses, cleaners, laundry, maintenance men are so kind and friendly and nothing is ever too much trouble. The chef does his best to accommodate Mums dietary needs, and the food is always very appetising. Mum really enjoyed the day trip to Llandudno on the 6th of September, it was a very special and memorable day for us both, so many thanks to all involved in organising it.

The home itself, both inside and out, looks more like a country hotel than a nursing home. The rooms are clean, the staff friendly and very capable, and the meal menu leaves me giving up all hope that my wife should ever lose any weight – it’s absolutely fabulous.
The ethos of the Lawton Manor is exemplified by the General Manager who is herself very professional as a manager, but also a very welcoming and friendly, considerate, caring, hands-on lady. The nurses always seem to be smiling – not an easy achievement – and thoroughly professional. The carers are delightful, always willing to help, and very aware that the personal care that they are giving involves intrusion into my wife’s dignity; they are rightly called carers.

Lawton Manor has provided very good care to my nan. The staff go above and beyond to make my nans time here happy. My nan is always clean and tidy and comfortable and very well looked after. I am very impressed with Lawton Manor.

Since being at Lawton Manor her health has improved dramatically and in our opinion it is purely down to the excellent care that she receives at Lawton Manor. The staff are amazing, highly competent, polite, professional and respectful of our Mums needs and wishes.
The residents are treated like VIP guests and the care team regularly organise activities to stimulate and enrich the day to day lives of their residents. We are totally reassured in the knowledge that Mum is well cared for, safe and happy.
Thank you Lawton Manor

Meet the Team (15)

Hi, my name is Rebecca and I am General Manager at Lawton Manor.
I have worked within the health and social care sector for over 15 years now in a variety of roles and services all over Central England. My passion has always been older people's care - I feel that the older generation has such a wealth of life experience and knowledge they can pass on to us, which means every day I learn something new in my role.
I started my career in care as a carer and have worked my way up to then work within a variety of management roles within the sector including home management/commissioning manager/regional support manager/regional manager in both residential and nursing settings.
I am passionate about making a difference to the people who live with us and feel I am in a very privileged role to be able to do this. I am also passionate about working with teams to develop and enhance their skills and knowledge to make them the best they can be.

Donna is our Deputy Manager here at Lawton Manor. She has been a registered nurse for over 30 years and was delighted to have been awarded a 20 year Long Service award by Barchester Healthcare in 2022.
Donna likes nursing because it’s a profession that never stops giving. You learn new things every day, and the opportunity for growth is almost unlimited. She feels so good inside when she sees improvement in residents and also when giving emotional support to their family members. Donna also said it actually gives her inner peace that she's able to help somebody.
Donna feels extremely privileged within her career so far to work with the incredible team at Lawton Manor.

This is Liz and she has worked at “The Manor” since 2010. She started as Activities Co-ordinator and is now our wonderful Home Administrator. Liz is responsible for ensuring all contracts are in place for the people we support and all the staff too. She is in charge of invoicing, payroll, purchases and takes great care of our numbers game in the home.
Liz has an open door policy and is most happy to speak with families, residents and staff that need support in the day. Outside of work, Liz likes to take trips to the farm in Anglesey with her family where they visit the beach. She also loves being a foodie, as she enjoys going to restaurants.

With years of service behind her at Lawton Manor, most of all Julie loves the interaction with residents. Julie started working with us in 2006, and her role is to support colleagues and staff members daily, especially so when meeting and greeting residents' relatives, families and their friends.
In her spare time Julie likes to be with her family and friends. She really enjoys going away on mini breaks for a bit of retail therapy and loves eating out in restaurants with her husband.

Nina is one of our Admin Assistants, and she has worked at Lawton Manor since July 2024, although she has worked for Barchester since 2017.
She enjoys meeting and greeting all of our visitors in the home and, thoroughly enjoys getting to know the residents and socialising with them.
Nina finds her role extremely rewarding as no two days are ever the same. She is excited to continue to learn more about Lawton Manor and supporting the team.

Kim joined the Lawton Manor team in 2022 as a Carer, and loved spending time with the residents so much that she moved over to our Activities team in March 2024, which she absolutely loves! Kim will regularly tell you how passionate she is about her job and enriching the lives of our residents every single day. She helps them engage in meaningful activities, which also helps support the transition for new residents.
From trips out, to person-centred activities, and making our home look beautiful and festive for every occasion alongside our Activities Co-ordinator Chloe, you can always tell when Kim has been around! We love having Kim as part of our team and seeing how she has made our residents happy each week.

Over the years that James has worked at Lawton Manor, most of all he loves the interaction and variety his role provides, and feels privileged to be able to make a difference in people’s lives by ensuring their home is maintained and presented to a high standard.
Prior to joining the Lawton Manor team, James worked as Head Maintenance for the NHS in a local hospital.

Plamen is our Maintenance Assistant at Lawton Manor, and is always around to offer a helping hand. No job is too big or too small - whatever he can do to support the team and residents he absolutely will.
Plamen works closely with James, our Head of Maintenance and no day is ever the same. He really enjoys his job and takes great pride in making sure residents' rooms and the home in general are snag free and looking great always.

Deborah has worked at Lawton Manor since 2012, and has been Head of Housekeeping since 2021. She absolutely loves her job, as she loves the atmosphere and environment of Lawton Manor.
Deborah is such an integral part of our team and so supportive - we're lucky to have her. She is responsible for making sure rooms are always looking good and feeling comfortable for our residents, as well as setting up rooms for new residents and the general cleanliness of our home.
When asked what she enjoys about her job, Deborah answered: "I love the vibe of our home, and generally making people happy. I love the bones of the team here, and especially the residents. As the Housekeeping Team, we're involved in residents' day to day life as much as the care team are, and I can never say no to them so I'm wrapped around their finger! We have such a good team, I'm proud to be a part of it."

This is Michelle and she has been a member of the Housekeeping Team at Lawton Manor since 2017. In Michelle's words, she loves the atmosphere our home has, there's always something going on and everyone is always happy.
We have a great team here and being involved with the residents' everyday lives is something special.

Diane started working at Lawton Manor in 2006 and is a member of the Housekeeping Team and Laundry Department. She enjoys the fast pace of the home and loves to chat with the residents when delivering freshly laundered linen back to residents' rooms. There's always something to chat about or help with and it's the highlight of her day.
In her spare time, Diane loves to read and go for walks. In the summer you'll find her in the garden, and in the winter she loves to spend her time knitting.

This is Flo and she has been a Nurse at Lawton Manor since 2015. Flo loves and values her job because she makes a difference, particularly when our residents are happier and give her a smile. In her words, it is the best payment and reward she could ask for, and she will treasure such memories always.
When Flo is off duty, she likes to attend her church meeting which is in line with the care of others that she does every day. To treat people respectively is her biggest value.

Jo qualified as an RNLD in 1989, and has worked with us at Lawton Manor since 2010. She enjoys delivering person-centred care to residents, and feels her career experience enables her to deliver the best nursing care to residents with complex issues and all disabilities. Outside of work, Jo likes to keep fit by running, and she belongs to a Tap Dance Group and has performed at the Crewe Lyceum Theatre!

Sam started his career at Lawton Manor in 2009 as a Kitchen Assistant. Taking an interest in the care side of our home, Sam has since worked his way up to Care Home Assistant Practitioner and is thoroughly enjoying his role as he feels there is a sense of achievement every day.
Sam spends his free time with his family as he is a doting dad and is a huge Star Wars and Marvel fan.

Lydia has worked at Lawton Manor since 2013 when she started as Healthcare Assistant. Lydia was quickly promoted to the position of “In House Trainer for Carers” before becoming a Senior Carer. Lydia has always worked very hard and qualified as a Care Home Practitioner in 2021.
In her spare time Lydia enjoys cooking various cuisine including Chinese dishes and Curries from different Nations using her own blends of herbs and spices.
