My father was a resident at Orchard Manor from 9th March 2020 through to 23rd July 2023. He was always treated well and with the utmost respect and dignity. While there the huge problem of Covid-19 was ever present with numerous lockdowns being imposed to comply with government and NHS restrictions.
The care home always made sure my father was kept safe and 'pod' visits were arranged and coordinated. Once restrictions were lifted, normal free access was resumed. I would have no problem in recommending Orchard Manor to any relatives and/or friends.

Mum has been at Orchard Manor for almost 5 years and we were made to feel very welcome from the beginning. She has had many ups and downs and at times is not easy to look after because of her condition - she receives great care from everyone and the wonderful staff on Willow 1st know just what to do.
Mum can't really join in with activities but they do their best to find something she can enjoy. All of the staff I have met over the years, no matter which role they do are friendly and helpful, not just to my mum, but they take great care of me as well. Their work can be very challenging and tiring but it's always done with care and humour. A recent request if a facility could be improved was listened to by the home management and I have been very impressed by the way they have kept me informed of progress on a regular basis without asking.

My wife has been in Orchard Manor Care Home for well over twelve months and I would not move her from here, they have been fantastic with her. The management is fantastic, their door is always open if you have any problems and are dealt with as soon as possible. The staff are brilliant, they treat all
residents and family with respect and care. The entertainment group are fantastic with all residents, putting on shows, taking them on trips out etc. The rooms are very large, clean and safe which makes the residents feel at home. Everywhere is kept clean every day. The lounge is where all residents can sit, watch TV, have drinks, snacks or just relax etc. I am so happy that my wife is in this care home.

Our mum has been in Orchard Manor for the last two months of her life. We could not have asked for better care or a care home for her. She really enjoyed her time here; the range of activities was amazing, the food was brilliant, and the staff were exceptional. From when she moved in, the friendliness
and kindness of the staff were second to none. They got to know her, and she felt at home here. As a family, we all felt very welcomed and enjoyed meeting the staff. We were amazed at how they remembered our names, and it made us feel comforted during our difficult times. All of the staff, from entertainment and cleaners to the care workers and nurses were amazing and professional. We would like to especially thank a few particular members of staff; you were truly amazing to her and made her feel so at home, and made us feel welcomed and comfortable during her last days. You were all so kind to us, and we will remember everything you did and the bonds we formed.

I have been most satisfied with the excellent care given to my wife at Orchard Manor.
The staff are always pleasant and polite and could not be more helpful. The rooms are well maintained. There is generally a good programme of entertainment for the residents. I would recommend this home to anybody.

My mother, aged 96, was admitted to Orchard Manor Care Home in a poor state of health at the end of May. Because of the excellent care she has received she is now looking very much better. She has severe memory problems but the staff are extremely caring and patient and she is quite obviously happy
and contented. There is an interesting range of activities and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. She loves the food and is eating far better than she has for a while. I recommend Orchard Manor to anyone who needs nursing home care.

Even though my visit to see my Mum was a restricted a half-hour, due to COVID protocols, I was impressed by the professional way staff quickly checked me through the appropriate measures for an outside visit. My Mum was kept warm, both physically and emotionally with an extra blanket and clear guidance
from a member of staff who carefully helped her engage with the photos I had brought with me. The professional dedication shown by all members of staff who have supported my Mum has been brilliant. Thank you, everyone.

Orchard Manor have developed safe and helpful ways for residents and relatives to communicate which has felt so important in these times. Staff have helped me with things I would normally do when I visit to try and make sure Mum's life continues as normally as possible. One member of staff, in particular,
went above and beyond helping to sort out trying on and returning new slippers. Knowing staff look after residents so well cannot be underestimated.

The management and staff at this home are extremely kind and thoughtful to both the residents and relatives. They are always on hand to put the relatives' answers to any concerns they may have regarding their loved ones' health at any time.

My father has been a resident at Orchard Manor for nearly 2 years now and in all that time I have been impressed with the treatment and care he has received. The staff are all very friendly and a lovely family-like atmosphere is prevalent throughout the home. As well as meeting all my father's needs

My mother has been in this home for five years. Sadly, she has just passed away with dementia. They have shown nothing but dignity to my mother. The care was excellent, and they always talked to her, even though she doesn't respond. I would put another relation in this home if I needed to.

My wife suffered with advanced dementia and several other medical issues, after a spell in hospital they recommended a transfer to a care home for 4/6 weeks for further assessment and arranged a move to Orchard Manor Care Home.
My initial thoughts after visiting the care facility was to move her to
a home closer to the family once the assessment was concluded, however, having spent many hours at Orchard Manor I realised the important issue was the quality of care rather than the location, fixtures and fittings.
I found the staff had excellent connections with the residents and genuine concern for their wellbeing. Having viewed several care homes I decided Orchard Manor was the place I wanted my wife to remain, a choice which I do not regret.
Over the 6 months my wife was at the home it was pleasing to see that a good relationship built up with members of the staff who were always quick to help when necessary or if my wife was anxious when I was leaving.
The end of life care for my wife (and I0 made the experience easier to deal with.

My aunt has dementia and has been a resident at Orchard Manor since August 2018. She always tells us that she is happy and is well looked after and everything I see when I visit backs that up. I think it is a very caring environment and that starts from the top. I have every confidence in the management

After two months in hospital, though receiving a high level of care, it became clear my mother was nearing the end of her life. She was in her nineties but had been generally alert so this outcome was slightly unexpected. As she would be unable to return to her own home, my wife and I were determined
that she should be able to pass her final days in a softer environment. Orchard Manor Care Home met our criteria and, fortuitously, was in the same area as my mother's home which meant that she still came under her local doctors' surgery. Surprised by her rate of decline, we did not know how much time my mother would have left. With this pressure on us to move her from the hospital, the team at Orchard Manor showed great professionalism and care in facilitating my mother's transfer as smoothly as possible. She was able to finish her days with dignity, surrounded by home comforts such as photos, flowers and tv. We will be forever thankful for the team's support at a difficult time.

It's never an easy decision to put someone into a care home but when the situation and conditions are difficult to deal with at home, selecting a care home is not easy. Our relative went into Orchard Manor and we had all the concerns that everyone has about the care their relatives need. Our relative
was resident for just over two years. The staff and facilities at Orchard Manor were excellent. We feel that he was really cared for and his needs tended to. The staff were also great with us as visitors. We were always made to feel welcome and asked to join in with social events held at Orchard Manor. We could highly recommend Orchard Manor to anyone considering a care home for their relative.

My dad had a complicated condition that needed a lot of care. The staff were genuinely caring and compassionate in everything they did to look after him. I felt he was loved and looked after as much as he would be at home, we will always be grateful to Orchard Manor.

This is review is of the nursing section of Orchard Manor. My mum started off in the dementia area (where the carers were excellent with her) but improved so much that she moved to Maple. Not just the carers but all staff (e.g. kitchen team, laundry etc) are the strongest features. Great interaction
with residents and their families. Rooms are light and spacious, two common areas and a really well-maintained garden. Bits of the home are looking a bit dated but always clean. Very flexible on food if have individual preferences. Only criticism is that communication on how the place runs, who to talk to, what can or can't ask for etc was poor. And getting hold of anyone out of hours is impossible. An induction/welcome pack would be very useful. However, my mum has now left for general residential care as has improved again and would not hesitate to return her in future or recommending.

I am unsure why you struggled to get hold of anyone out of hours as our nurse carry a phone on them at all times but I will review this?
