Excellent care given by an outstanding team of staff led by an amazing manager. My mum is very happy here and has been for over 5 years. Sadly the previous owner had not decorated for a long time so Mum's room is one of the few rooms that has not yet been updated but it is clean with an en-suite and
a lovely view of the garden. I would thoroughly recommend this small, friendly, caring home.

The care my mother has received at Rosedale has been exemplary. Everything has been done to help my mother be as well as she can, and as settled as she can, and as stimulated and engaged as possible. The home is well managed and my mother is treated with care, kindness and compassion by a dedicated
team. I feel well informed and updated by the care home manager and staff. The home is also very active in ensuring timely assessments from the wider community multi-disciplinary team. Rosedale is well-staffed with regular interactive sessions. Mum is also enjoying her food again.

Dear Staff at St Joseph's Convent Nursing Home,

On behalf of our entire family, I would like to express our deepest gratitude for the care, compassion, and dignity you showed our dad Brian

From the very beginning, it was clear that he was in kind and capable hands. Your patience, warmth, and

genuine concern for his wellbeing never went unnoticed. You treated him not just as a resident, but as a person-with respect, understanding, and humanity-and that meant more to us than words can fully express.

We are especially thankful for the small, everyday acts of kindness that made his days brighter, as well as the reassurance you gave to us as a family during difficult times. Knowing he was safe, comfortable, and cared for brought us great peace.

Your work is not easy, but it is incredibly important, and we are truly grateful for everything you have done. You made a lasting difference in his life and in ours.

With heartfelt thanks,

Vicky, tracy & family

My husband entered Nightingales in April 2026, removed from a different home. The improvement we have seen in him has been remarkable. He is happy relaxed and more alive, this is without a doubt due to the care he has received. The staff are extremely kind, attentive and treat the residents with dignity.
Having experienced a traumatic time in the previous home I would not hesitate to recommend Nightingales.

After being admitted to Lisbeth House with metastatic melanoma, my Dad was very quickly settled, respected and included like a part of the family. Care was exemplary and genuine and he was encouraged to participate in suitable activities straight away. Nothing was too much trouble and he truly enjoyed
St George's Day celebrations, peacock hunting in the village and late night cheese on toast snacks! As a family we always felt welcome and well informed and staff were friendly, professional and empathetic. Thank you for making his last days comfortable, dignified and meaningful and thank you for the support and condolences offered to us as a family.

My mum has been a resident in the home for 12 months. The initial transition from independent living to care home living was a difficult and emotional process for all of us but the professionalism and experience of the management helped us through it.
The care staff who look after mum on a day to day
basis are wonderful. They are so patient with all the residents (and visitors) and nothing is ever too much trouble for them. I highly recommend them.

My father had never wanted to be in any sort of care/nursing home and I did not want that for him either. Unfortunately circumstances dictated that a nursing home was the only option for him. I chose this home after speaking to the social services "settlement" team literally the day before he landed.
I popped into the home to introduce myself. I got a full tour which illustrated how clean and organised it all was as well as being staffed by a lovely team.
My father can be a challenge so his first couple of weeks were not without bumps in the road but all managed by the team. As time has progressed he is more comfortable and relaxed. I am more comfortable as I know that he is safe. All the staff members are lovely with him despite his erratic behaviour. What I appreciate the most is that the staff treat him as an individual, each in their own way with warmth. He is convinced that he is in a hotel in his alternate universe. This is a a testament to the "service" he is receiving!.
Reply from Claire Ellwood, Matron at St Alban's Nursing HomeThank you so much, for taking the time to share such a heartfelt review. We truly understand how difficult the transition into care can be, and were so pleased that both you and your father feel more comfortable and reassured. All the staff are lovely with both of my parents. My dad needed to go in at short notice due to my mum being in hospital and the care received was amazing. It was a very upsetting time for me and my dad because I didn't think that I was ever going to have to put my dad in a home. All the staff; in
the offices, nursing staff, care staff, kitchen staff and the people who cleaned all the laundry were and still are amazing. I can't thank them all enough for the help and reassurance they gave me. My mum is now in Beechwood too, due to her mobility and it is so nice knowing my parents are together and being well looked after 24/7. My mum tells me all the time how lovely everyone is and that she really loves it there. My dad has Parkinson's and Dementia and has a few bad days. They carers are great with him. I am so happy I chose Beechwood for my parents.
Reply from Jessica Middleton, Manager at Beechwood PlaceThankyou for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. We are so happy we could keep them both living together and glad they feel settled with us.

Nightingales Nursing Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My husband transferred to Nightingales from another local care home. I worried that he may find it difficult to settle in and to be honest I was apprehensive for myself. My worries were unfounded as we were made so welcome by all the staff, carers and admin alike. My husband soon settled in and is now
much happier. My grandson summed it up when he told me that it felt just like home.
