Dear Staff at St Joseph's Convent Nursing Home,
On behalf of our entire family, I would like to express our deepest gratitude for the care, compassion, and dignity you showed our dad Brian
From the very beginning, it was clear that he was in kind and capable hands. Your patience, warmth, and
genuine concern for his wellbeing never went unnoticed. You treated him not just as a resident, but as a person-with respect, understanding, and humanity-and that meant more to us than words can fully express.
We are especially thankful for the small, everyday acts of kindness that made his days brighter, as well as the reassurance you gave to us as a family during difficult times. Knowing he was safe, comfortable, and cared for brought us great peace.
Your work is not easy, but it is incredibly important, and we are truly grateful for everything you have done. You made a lasting difference in his life and in ours.
With heartfelt thanks,
Vicky, tracy & family

Thank you for taking the time to write such lovely and heartfelt words, at this very difficult time. It really does make a difference to all the staff when we receive such a positive and grateful thank you. It was our pleasure to take of Dad(Brian) and thank you for choosing us to do that. Can I also say thank you on behalf of all the staff for the card and very delicious cakes that you baked for us.

After being admitted to Lisbeth House with metastatic melanoma, my Dad was very quickly settled, respected and included like a part of the family. Care was exemplary and genuine and he was encouraged to participate in suitable activities straight away. Nothing was too much trouble and he truly enjoyed
St George's Day celebrations, peacock hunting in the village and late night cheese on toast snacks! As a family we always felt welcome and well informed and staff were friendly, professional and empathetic. Thank you for making his last days comfortable, dignified and meaningful and thank you for the support and condolences offered to us as a family.
Reply from Andrea Walker, Home Manager at Lisbeth Nursing HomeThank you for your lovely words which i will pass onto staff. Your dad really enjoyed the peacock hunting and the fir cone he bought me is sitting in my office, he really enjoyed his trip out. Your dad made a lasting impression on use all.

We needed a nursing home urgently, for end-of-life care for my brother. From the first contact with Lisbeth Home, we had professional help. The care home liaised with the hospital, when my brother was being quickly discharged by them - a big relief. We were kept informed on his progress by experienced
management, who were very approachable, as were all staff. He received the very best care and was treated with respect and dignity. 100% all round.
Reply from Andrea Walker, Home Manager at Lisbeth Nursing HomeThank you so much for your lovely words which I will pass on to staff. It was our pleasure looking after your brother.

Dad required 24-hour care following a 10-week hospital stay and thankfully was able to move to Lisbeth Nursing Home in Oct 2025. With the dedicated care of all the staff he eventually settled in and became part of the 'family'.
The home is beautiful, comfortable and warm. Management asks all the right
questions - dietary/drink preferences, activities they enjoy, bedtime rituals, family and life history, enabling staff to establish a personal relationship with each resident and their family. Nothing is too much.
Watching the interactions of staff with residents, the instinct of personal needs without words, always with dignity and the warmth, love and care given so freely as if their own family member was amazing .
Whether bed-ridden or downstairs in the lounges, all residents are included in activities designed to mentally and physically stimulate them.
Dad passed away recently and in the last weeks of his life the care provided was beyond excellent.
Definitely recommended.
Reply from Andrea Walker, Home Manager at Lisbeth Nursing HomeThank you so much for your lovely words which will be shared by staff, it was a pleasure looking after dad and yourselves. You are part of our family now and it was lovely to see you last week when you visited and had a cuppa.

When I first came to st Joseph's to visit my grandad in November 2025, I got shown to my grandads room, showed me where the toilets along with drinks machine. I was made very welcome and the staff was so lovely and the care they gave my grandad was very outstanding before he passed away. I cannot thank
you enough for caring for my grandad

My husband John went to Lisbeth Nursing Home on 30/12/24. Following a 5 month spell at New Cross hospital. John became Paraplegic in New Cross due to a serious infection and a fall, where he also gained a Grade 4 pressure sore, which went to the bone.
The staff at Lisbeth have worked tirelessly over
the last 13 months to heal that sore, to get it to a place whereby he can be sent to a specialist spinal unit for rehabilitation and his final step to get him home. After his poor care at hospital, I was weary of leaving him there. But I needed not to worry. All the staff have made us and John feel like a member of the family. Catering to his dietary needs and providing the excellent care he has needed. We have had a few tears, but many laughs within the home. Getting to know the staff making it a home from home for John. Andrea and Beverly took the time to ensure we were all cared for and to know John was in safe hands. I have no hesitation to recommend Lisbeth Nursing Home to anyone
Reply from Andrea Walker, Home Manager at Lisbeth Nursing HomeThank you for your feedback, it was an absolute pleasure looking after John. We are so pleased he is now on his final stage of his rehabilitation to get him back home. You are all part of the Lisbeth family.

In June 2024 my husband was transferred to Lisbeth from hospital for assessment. He had been very poorly and was in advanced stage of Alzheimer's. We had to accept a care home room wherever available BUT fortunately he came to Lisbeth. Following assessment I was so pleased he could remain there. Sadly
he passed peacefully away in hospital on the 19th January.
I need to offer my sincere thanks to Andrea and her staff for the love and nursing care given to my husband, he improved and staff could even get an occasional smile. He was well cared for throughout his time there. I was also supported on this journey and help was given with any problems or worries.
Although bed bound my husband was occasionally wheeled into the lounge for the entertainment, he loved music. I shared many happy hours there with him and I feel he was happy too.
Sending my love and heartfelt thanks to you all. xx

My Mom received amazing care in the 3.!/2 years she was at lisbeth. Mom was treated like family and so was
I and my daughter and son. All the staff are so friendly as soon as you walk through the door. They even called her nan which she liked as she had Dementia. The residents are always happy and the
staff go above and beyond. The activities are really good and so is the entertainment. Even though Mom was bed ridden at the end they still included her , what a care home. We would not have wanted her anywhere else. The last week
of moms life was hard for myself and daughter and son, watching her slip away but what a team they even made sure we were looked after. Thank you so much Andrea you have a care home to be proud of and all the staff should be proud of themselves . To everyone at Lisbeth we loved you all and we will never forget what you did for Mom.
Reply from Andrea Walker, Home Manager at Lisbeth Nursing HomeThank you so much for your lovely words, your mum was a pleasure to look after and she did make us smile. Mum and you are sorely missed by all. I am very proud of my home and all my staff.

Lisbeth Nursing Home staff communicated excellently from the moment they were contacted following a difficult discharge from the local hospital - their ability to maintain communication was empathetic, non-judgemental and second to none. Staff gave us regular updates and phone calls when new information
came to light, ensuring that what was already a stressful series of events, felt like someone cared about our family having never actually met us - this made the world of difference amongst what felt a chaotic and emotionally stressful period.
I whole heartedly and fully recommend Lisbeth Nursing Home to other families facing end of life palliative care. My father's care remained outstanding through the last weeks of his life, the lasting imprint on our lives that the Lisbeth Nursing Home team left us is one of gratitude, love and more care for my father than these words can describe - they simply wrapped him and us in love. Thank you

My Mum moved to Lisbeth in December 2024 from another care home out of the area. I can honestly say from the very first day my Mum has received the best possible care here and for this we are so thankful. All of the staff are amazing, so friendly and professional. Management are proactive and are very
approachable. The home itself is very well maintained and my Mum's room is spotless with her bed always made nicely. The food is lovely and tasty and Mum's clothes laundered well. My Mum has settled in there so well. Thank you Lisbeth .

The management team are well led and pro-active - trying their best to sort the needs of the residents. They respond to the needs to the resident. Our mother received excellent level of care in respect to her very bad bad sorts. Their attention to responding to the requirements of this specialist care
quite possibly saved our mum's life. The staff are wonderful, always smiling and taking time to chat and respond to requests. Rooms are lovely and calm. This is a truly wonderful care home!!
