Overview

The Review Score of 9.6 (maximum of 10) for King's Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 12 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for King's Court in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5 out of 5 from 11 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

Detailed Breakdown

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.589 for King's Court is calculated as follows: ( (89 Excellents x 5) + (47 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 141 Ratings = 4.589

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for King's Court is based on 11 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4

    2. Target of 7.6 positive Reviews (38 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 11 Reviews ÷ 7.6 Target Reached = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

9.6 King's Court has a Review Score of 9.6 (9.589) from 12 Reviews

When my father moved in, he was welcomed by all of the staff and the home was well organised and they were keen to get him organised and involved in the day to day life in the home.

11th September 2017

He is now well settled and likes the home and his room. He does make comments about the food, partially not having hot food in the evening.

Overall, he is happy, settled and we are happy with all aspects of the home.

Thank you for your positive review.

I call into King's Court every Wednesday with a group from the local church to chat and sing with the residents. All the staff are friendly, happy and very welcoming to us. All residents are relaxed and happy, well groomed and seem content. Surroundings are clean and fresh and they are always being offered refreshments which is very nice to see. All of us really enjoy visiting every week!

Thank you very much for your review of Kings Court. The home benefits greatly from your visits and long may they continue.

My husband has lived here for three years. I feel that he is well cared for. The staff are very kind and caring. The food is very good, my husband has Alzheimer's and I feel that this is managed as well as it could be.

Thank You for this positive review, with a new activity organiser we hope that the activities will improve.

I am very pleased with the carers that work at Kings Court. Always find them very friendly and caring. My mother when I ask always says the staff are very nice and also the food very good. Have also recommended your home when asked by others who are looking for a care home for their relations.

DENISE BEEDLE, HOME MANAGER at King's Court responded to this review on 22 May 2017:

Thank you for your kind and positive feedback.

My father was at King's Court until his death in February 2017. I am impressed with the dedication and kindness shown to him and all the other residents, I now visit to talk to the residents.
All the residents I speak to all say how happy they are. My father's social worker told me he would happily send his own father to King's Court and I can now see why. All the staff are so friendly and always seem willing to talk or help the residents when needed.

Denise Beedle, Home Manager at King's Court responded to this review on 11 May 2017:

Thank you for your positive review. Our aim is to continue to provide this standard of care to all our residents.

My father has been very well cared for since coming to King's Court. He always tells me he is happy. He had to go into hospital for an operation for a fractured hip (which happened in the car park as he was returning to the home) The operation went well but his sodium levels rose and he soon struggled to eat and was bedridden. After 3 weeks he was assessed by King's Court and they kindly offered to take him back. Due to their care and kindness, he can now stand and has started to take a few steps. He is slowly getting back to his old self thanks to King's Court.
