I worked as a nurse in Romania from 1998 to 2016 when I joined Care UK.
Care UK’s strong values were what made me decide to come to the UK and work here. After speaking with team members in the home, I felt it was a good opportunity for me to develop my career.
When I first joined Care UK, I worked as a nurse. I was soon promoted to Night Nurse Manager, then Deputy Manager and now Home Manager.
My role is to ensure the home is safe and comfortable for residents and to provide support to colleagues in our team. In this role, you need to have strong leadership, communication and time management skills. It’s also important to be confident and experienced and respect others.
My favourite part of the day is our team meeting, where all the colleagues in the home get together and make plans for how we move forward. At Pinetum, we have a strong sense of teamwork, and I’m proud of our colleagues’ commitment, which helps us to get through any challenges together.
Outside of work, I enjoy fishing and reading.
