My wife was a resident for 12 weeks as a palliative patient. Whilst residing in Rowans Care Home, she received five-star treatment from the wonderful staff, who looked after comfort, medication and wellbeing, under difficult circumstances. I cannot praise the staff highly enough for their dedication to the residents. The medical staff were outstanding in the care of my wife, in helping her, and our family through the difficult and emotional time.
Thank you so much for your kind words. This means so much to the team. It was both a privilege and honour to have cared for your wife and get to know you and your family. Best Wishes.
My mum went in the care home for end of life care. The staff were absolutely brilliant with mum, and all the family that came to visit in the 3 months she was there. They made us all feel welcome and did their utmost to look after mum. They couldn't have done anymore. They treated us all with respect, and mum had the dignity she deserved. Those last few months were made easier knowing mum was well looked after. I cant thank the staff enough, Lydia, Jane, Florin, Christina, just to mention a few - were all amazing. Thankyou, Thankyou!!
Thank you so much for taking the time to complete this review at this difficult time. I have shared with the team and those specifically mentioned and they really appreciate the feedback. We are so glad to have been able to have made your mum's final journey as comfortable and peaceful as possible for her and your family. With very best wishes.
Throughout Mum's stay, the nursing team communicated her changing medical condition in a clear and sensitive way, the kitchen team were great at adapting menus to suit her needs, and the care team offered her dignity in her personal care. Clean laundry arrived with a smile (and sometimes a song!) and the housekeeping team kept the whole home spotless and smelling fresh. If Mum hadn't been so ill, she would've enjoyed the activities on offer too.
Nursing care homes are challenging places of work: we saw nothing but respect for residents, good humour and professional care and kindness from all the staff. They also showed compassion towards us as we said our goodbyes to Mum. This is a special place and one we would whole-heartedly recommend.
Thank you so much for your kind review it makes it all worth while when you get that one review that really lifts your spirits I will share this with joy with the staffing team. It was a privilidge and a pleasure to care for your mum and you as her family.
I was told bringing mum to Rowans would be like her and us joining one big family and it was in spades!
An exemplary nursing home and I'm glad we found you in time. You should be very proud of the service and friendship you give!
Thank you for your kind words I will share this wonderful review with the staff its good to know we can get it right. It was a pleasure and a priveledge to care for your mother. warmest regrds
During her time at the Rowans the staff looked after her with kindness and thought. Any questions we had were answered straight away and clearly. We could not fault her care whatsoever.
It was a priveledge and a pleasure to care for your mother.
Mum moved in approx 2 months ago. She has been kept comfortable and clean at all times, despite us visiting at different times of the day. She has commented to us that she is well looked after and they make sure she is comfortable. She needs 24 hr palliative care is 96 years old and is a little difficult. But despite this they are kind, and look after her very well indeed.
Thank you for your kind words, it is a pleasure and a priviledge to care for your mother.
First impressions warm and inviting. Lovely atmosphere. Lots of eye contact with all the staff and nice smiles. Residents and respite short stay seem very happy. A lovely smell from the kitchen and cleanliness. Second to none I have no hesitation in recommending Rowans to anyone seeking 24 hrs care.
Thank you for your kind words, it is a pleasure and a priviledge to care for your mother.
After spending 2 or 3 weeks in hospital, they decided that my wife needed some palliative care and immediately recommended Rowans. Even from the first minute I could tell that the Rowans was a place that could offer kindness and care to my most wonderful wife. To be experiencing the few remaining days of Alzheimer's is really terrible time for all concerned, for both patients and love ones. It is hard not to mention individual names but the attendant nurses and other staff showed incredible care whatever their role. All of my wife's family were so happy to notice the involvement of each member of staff, no matter what their duty was. A cup of tea was always presented to visiting friends and each person we met showed great kindness and concern not only for my wife, but for all her visitors. During one evening I happened to be waiting (unknown) whilst the nurse was attending to my wife's comfort. I was so grateful to experience such personal and loving care. Although albeit for a relatively short period of time. Thank you to all the staff from Rowans. We all could see the wonderful kindness by all members of staff.
We are so glad we were able to care for your wife during the end of her life and are pleased we helped to ease not only her discomfort but yours and your family's. Sending our deepest sympathies on for your loss and thank you for your kind words.
Husband enjoyed the food. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Everywhere (rooms and public places) was clean and pleasant and well maintained. Would have liked husband to have had more walking about to keep his mobility levels okay but realise staffing levels may not have been able to provide this.
It was lovely to have your husband stay with us at The Rowans and we are glad he enjoyed his stay. We hope to see you both in the future if needed.
My mum sadly passed away a few days ago which was devastating. She has been at The Rowans since September 2023. I am so glad she was here the staff are ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. They supported us during mums death. They are kind and compassionate just lovely, lovely people . I can't thank them enough and will always be happy that they made my mums last part of her life as happy as they could. A wonderful place.
Thank you for your kind review. It was a pleasure and a priveledge to care for your mum she will be greatly missed.
I'm very happy here. Everyone is so caring and helpful. They have made me very comfortable.
It is a pleasure and an honor to care for you, you brighten everyones day with your chit chat.
Clean, warm and welcoming. Usually offered a drink and cake on arrival. Food looks and smells delicious. Sadly a lot of the residents seem to always be sat in wheelchairs, in the dinning room with nothing to stimulate them. There seems to be no activities on a regular basis. Christmas seems to be the last time the residents had any kind of entertainment. The games cupboard has very little equipment to encourage table games being played with the residents. Not enough physio for for residents that could do with more. Eating plans need reviewing as some residents may not need their food purified.
Residents have a perscribed diet from SALT and are refereed as required. It is a legal requirement to follow the persribed diet. We have to wait for a resident to be reviewed before we can alter a diet this is an NHS service and unfortunately we have to wait until they visit. The games cupboard has...
As a family we feel we can have quality time with Mum, Dad loves having his lunch with mum and a brew is always available
It is a pleasure to care for your Mother and we do consider ourselves one big mostly happy family!Thank you for your kind words its lovely to hear.
Thank you for all you help, care and best wishes.
It is a pleasure and a privilege to care for your Mother-in-law! Thank you for your kind words its lovely to hear.
Most staff are very good some put on the ones who are very good and dedicated, kitchen staff excellent nothing to much trouble.
Most staff are very friendly. On the whole a good care home.
Unfortunately we are an old home and with the budget we have we try to maintain good standards however the inside of the home is most important. As you are aware activities have under gone a change and hopefuly will now be more consistent. thanks for your feedback.
The staff are brilliant and always take care of me when I visit my mum. They are looking after my mother very well and taking care of all her needs. They are all stars and do an amazing job.
thank you for your lovely feedback its so nice to be able to share these with the staff. It is a pleasure to care for your mum.
A very friendly cheerful home, all staff from kitchen, cleaners, carers and managers are friendly polite, and efficient. Sometimes my mother has to wait for attention but never long enough that I have to go looking for staff. The grounds need to be tidier but this is a small point but would be nice to see it improved plenty of car park availability at the home with spaces for your car at a very local shop if needed, overall I would recommend the Rowans, good value, great care, well done!
thank you for your kind feedback it is a pleasure to care for your mother.
Mum was fortunate to get a place at the Rowans Care Centre for intermediate care following hospitalisation. We realised that her frailty meant that a permanent care home would best fulfil her needs and mum has now moved to a lovely spacious room and is settling nicely. The staff are wonderful; very attentive to her needs, very caring and kind and can't do enough for her. We are kept well informed of all developments; kept well in the loop. It has been an enormous relief to me as her carer for the last 10 years! Thank you all!
thank you for your lovely feedback. It is a pleasure to care for your Mum she is certainly one of the family. We are working on improving our activities and hope this improves quickly.
We have been made to feel welcome, like one of the family since my husband was admitted. The care he is receiving is very good.
thank you for your kind review it is great to recieve such a lovely compliment.
My 95-year-old mother was admitted to hospital after breaking her left hip. She was transferred to the Rowans Care Centre after 5 days. She was very fragile, unsteady and didn't eat or drink much. She is quite difficult to deal with. She slipped away quietly at the Rowans. Care was satisfactory.
Thank you for your review it was a privilege and a pleasure to care for your Mother. May she rest in peace.
