The Review Score of 9.6 (maximum of 10) for Walton House Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.
a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Walton House Nursing Home in Google's Search Results - more info
b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.
a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.
The Average Rating of 4.841 for Walton House Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (90 Excellents x 5) + (17 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 107 Ratings = 4.841
b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'
The 5 points available are broken down as follows:
4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.
1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.
If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.
The 4.732 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Walton House Nursing Home is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:
3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4
Target of 8.2 positive Reviews (41 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 6 Reviews ÷ 8.2 Target = 0.732
When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

After being given 7 days to find a nursing home for my mother on her discharge from the hospital, I was really worried about picking one. However, after being told after an assessment of my mother that Walton House could accommodate her and a tour of the facilities, I was in no doubt that this nursing home could give her all the care and attention that she needed. All the staff - the manager, nurses, care assistants, and domiciliary staff - cannot be faulted. Nothing is too much trouble for them. I would have no hesitation in recommending Walton House to anyone looking for a nursing home

I, like most people looking for a nursing home, didn't arrive at the decision where mum should stay lightly. I found the care my mum received whilst she was in this home to be faultless. Any requests I had regarding the care of mum were undertaken and the carers/staff were eager to oblige in whatever way they could to make mum as comfortable as possible. I was allowed/encouraged to take mums personnel items in for her which in her short stay there were much appreciated. You can visit as often as you wish and at any time which was a blessing. I felt that all the people at Walton House actually cared about my mum that she wasn't just a resident. I also found there to be plenty of staff always on duty.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home to anyone - my only regret is that I didn't get mum in there earlier.

My mother was cared for very well. She was there for 15 months and all her nursing and care needs were met.
Although I visited my mum on a regular basis and so did other family members, we were always contacted if need be.
All the staff were approachable and very friendly.

My mother in law has been treated like the carers own mother. Staff have been gentle, kind, social and my mother in law enjoyed the films, singing songs around the piano and the many themed days and shows.
Our family have been made very welcome and always been offered tea, coffee etc.
We have been shown so much kindness and support during her stay and final days when nothing was too much to ask for. We were extremely grateful and will never forget the tender care that she received which allowed us to have total confidence that all her needs were met.

My wife and I are/were overwhelmed by the kindness and professionalism shown by the staff at Walton House. My relative (sister) was terminally ill and died in Walton House but from the minute she moved in, it felt as though a huge burden and worry had been lifted from the family because we knew the staff were professional and competent but more importantly kind to both the resident and their families. I recommend Walton House without reservation - nothing was too much trouble for them and they delivered a difficult service with compassion and importantly too, a smile.

My father moved into Walton House in summer as a very frail, poorly man, he had made the decision himself as he struggled at home, he had resisted moving into care as long as possible as he worried with so much bad publicity around care homes. He settled into Walton House and often commented how well he was being looked after, the staff were all very nice. He also enjoyed the food which was a varied menu. From the families point of view the home gave excellent care. All the staff were friendly to visitors and the residents and treated each one with dignity. We knew dad was receiving excellent care and was safe. We visited many care homes before settling for Walton House and knew as soon as we looked around it was the right place for dad. Thank you.
