My husband was only in the home for a short time but the care he recieved was excellent. Staff were extremely caring & kind, not just my husband with all residents & visitors. I witnessed the staff treat everyone with respect & dignity. I would recommend the care home to everyone who needs it.

These are the reasons for this damming review.
When he first went in, we were not impressed with the decorative standard in the bedroom, it was tatty. His bed was a low, cheap metal framed one, the assorted bedding was terrible.
We were told about a state of the art location system in the bedroom, with each resident having a bleeper on a tabard, with them at all times, for immediate location position.. This turned out not to work as bleeping from the bedroom got no response from the staff. When he went to his bedroom, no one missed him and he was never checked.
The final straws came when one morning he got up wet, took his pyjama bottoms and pad off, leaving them on the floor, no one answered his bleeps, so he put his dressing gown on and pushed himself into the dining room and got breakfast. After that he pushed himself back into his room.

The family found him at 1.30pm with him sat again wet on his chair. He was there for pallative-end of life care. We removed over him immediately.

The home is ok, the room my sister is in is very basic, only toilet, no shower, shabby furniture.
Care is generally good, food good.

Very long wait when needing taking to the toilet for patients who aren't mobile.

My mum has been in there about 6 months, everyone is nervous when a loved one is going in a home but she is so happy in there. She's well looked after and well fed with healthy meals. Staff are lovely, watched them with difficult people they care for and they handle situations brilliantly. They do games, have treat days, barbecues, its exceptional. Love all the staff and so does my mum. I dont see it as shes there having her last few years shes enjoying life with other residents. Its a wonderful home for them to keep living and enjoying their lives. I have no worries or complaints.

I visit my sister who happily lives here. The staff offer me tea if I want it.

The residents seem o live in a home environment, not an hospital setting.

I'm so happy my dad is in this home. They are so friendly to my dad and give him the best care I could hope for. They are always welcoming when I come to visit and I have peace of mind knowing he is in good hands. The home is always to a high standard, which is great to see. I would definitely recommend this home to people.

My husband passed away on 19th July.

He was resident in the Belvedere Care Home for 8mth 18 days. He was well looked after and respected. All his needs were cared for. I always felt welcome when I visited the home and was offered refreshment. My husband could be aggresive but they still treated him with respect.

My mother has been a permanent resident since June 2024 and seems happy with the staff and comments how clean it is and would recommend it. I have had plenty of staff interaction and find them willing and pleasant with all the residents. The place is currently undergoing a refurbishment and the work makes the place look nice. I have had good communication from the staff if any issues have arisen and the issues have been attended to promptly.

Overall Experience
After a poor experience at a previous care home, my grandmother-in-law was moved to Belvedere.
This was a tough time for her, as a previously independent lady, a leg break rendered her in need of care she struggled to come to terms with the idea of being in a home.
During this transition, the staff were extremely caring, accommodating and went out of their way to reassure us and our relative and make her feel as comfortable as possible.
She was afforded a room downstairs, all her home comforts and is treated with dignity and respect by all staff, they are attentive to her needs and are quick to deal with any issues that arise. Some of the patients here are challenging due to dementia and staff are patient and caring when dealing with them.

Patients' needs are attended to and she likes the meals. The home is clean and tidy. We are very happy with this home and would recommend to anyone.

My mum receives excellent care at Belvedere. The care staff and management could not do more. My mum is very happy and content. She loves the food, is always stating she laughs a lot with the staff. I never come into what you would say is a care home smell! I admit, from the outside it could do with some TLC but I can not fault anything.

My friend/neighbour was admitted into the care home back in November 2023, until his passing at the end of May 2024.
The staff were always pleasant and accommodating, my friend was cared for compassionately and as a human being.
Food was good, regular and they always asked what he wanted, regular checks on him throughout the day.

I would definitely recommend Belvedere Care Home.

Review from A S (Daughter-in-law of Resident) published on 18 June 2024 Submitted via Website

Awful place took my mother in law out to a new care home on the 23rd May. My mother in law has dementia and was always left at the dining room table with her face in the table, her fingernails were never cut and they were always dirty. She was also left smelly. Her bedding also had faeces on it. She needed help eating and drinking but was not encouraged to drink which led to her keep getting UTI infections. The management are rude. When we took my mother in law out on the 23rd May none of the staff helped us with the wheelchair, leaving me and my daughter to struggle. Other residents in there are ignored when they are shouting to go to the toilet. I have run around to get somebody for the residents when they want the toilet and there's never anybody around, awful place. Glad I took my mother in law out.
