Belvedere provides care services for elderly age 65 and above and those living with dementia, and older adults with learning disabilities.

A pre-admission assessment will be carried out to assess the suitability of the match between your needs and the services and facilities of the home. The suitability of your admission will be discussed with you and, if appropriate and with your permission, your representative(s).

Emergency admissions will be accepted only in exceptional circumstances, where the health or safety of the Service User is under threat, and normally only through a professional referrer such as Social Services. In this event, the suitability of the proposed Service User will be discussed with the professional referrer to ensure that the needs match the services offered, and the normal pre-admission assessment will be carried out within 48 hours of admission.

The home welcomes short term respite.

Belvedere is also proud to be a veteran-friendly accredited care home.

My husband passed away on 19th July.
He was resident in the Belvedere Care Home for 8mth 18 days. He was well looked after and respected. All his needs were cared for. I always felt welcome when I visited the home and was offered refreshment. My husband could be aggresive but they still treated him
with respect.

My mother has been a permanent resident since June 2024 and seems happy with the staff and comments how clean it is and would recommend it. I have had plenty of staff interaction and find them willing and pleasant with all the residents. The place is currently undergoing a refurbishment and the work
makes the place look nice. I have had good communication from the staff if any issues have arisen and the issues have been attended to promptly.

After a poor experience at a previous care home, my grandmother-in-law was moved to Belvedere.
This was a tough time for her, as a previously independent lady, a leg break rendered her in need of care she struggled to come to terms with the idea of being in a home.
During this transition, the staff
were extremely caring, accommodating and went out of their way to reassure us and our relative and make her feel as comfortable as possible.
She was afforded a room downstairs, all her home comforts and is treated with dignity and respect by all staff, they are attentive to her needs and are quick to deal with any issues that arise. Some of the patients here are challenging due to dementia and staff are patient and caring when dealing with them.
Patients' needs are attended to and she likes the meals. The home is clean and tidy. We are very happy with this home and would recommend to anyone.

Pleased with the home. The room where the residents sit is a bit smelly. Staff are very busy, should have a cleaner full-time it will be smell-free. The staff are busy caring for the residents (what a good job).

My mum receives excellent care at Belvedere. The care staff and management could not do more. My mum is very happy and content. She loves the food, is always stating she laughs a lot with the staff. I never come into what you would say is a care home smell! I admit, from the outside it could do with
some TLC but I can not fault anything.

I feel the staff work very hard, there is a lot of one-to-one care given.
My mum can be quite challenging and the staff manage this very well as well as with other residents that appear challenging. I feel very welcomed each time I visit.

My friend/neighbour was admitted into the care home back in November 2023, until his passing at the end of May 2024.
The staff were always pleasant and accommodating, my friend was cared for compassionately and as a human being.
Food was good, regular and they always asked what he wanted, regular
checks on him throughout the day.
I would definitely recommend Belvedere Care Home.

Awful place took my mother in law out to a new care home on the 23rd May. My mother in law has dementia and was always left at the dining room table with her face in the table, her fingernails were never cut and they were always dirty. She was also left smelly. Her bedding also had faeces on it. She
needed help eating and drinking but was not encouraged to drink which led to her keep getting UTI infections. The management are rude. When we took my mother in law out on the 23rd May none of the staff helped us with the wheelchair, leaving me and my daughter to struggle. Other residents in there are ignored when they are shouting to go to the toilet. I have run around to get somebody for the residents when they want the toilet and there's never anybody around, awful place. Glad I took my mother in law out.

My mother went into full-time care approx one year ago. The staff here went out of their way to welcome her, (and her family). She was in a very poor state of health, they have looked after her like part of a family and she has blossomed, put on weight, colour back into her face as a result. Most of
all her smile. Although she is quite confused due to her condition, family members are always welcome at any time and can have a meal with their family member if they wish (if covid restrictions allow). Well done to the staff at Accrington Belvedere.

I cannot fault the care given to my dad. The staff are wonderful, they go above and beyond to care for the residents. They are so loving and that makes a huge difference and adds to the homely feel as soon as you walk in. My dad was in another care home and was rapidly going down hill but due to the
care and attention given by staff he is now a lot more settled and so well looked after. The staff are always on hand to help the relatives with nothing being to much. I can now rest a little easier knowing my dad has the best care possible.

We are very pleased and impressed with the home. My father has been in a number of homes due to his aggression. Since he's moved he's now much happier and content, without any aggression.

My mother started staying here from August 2018 because she could no longer look after herself after the death of her husband in July 2018. The manageress and the staff have done a brilliant job with her and the quickness of the staff got my mum to hospital after noticing she couldn't swallow. After
being diagnosed with asphyxiation pneumonia and given only weeks to live. She went back to the home on 18th December and is now sat up every day, washed, dressed and eating, which I thought I would never see. Excellent care home.

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.177)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.177) out of 10 for Belvedere is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.377 for Belvedere is calculated as follows: ( (79 Excellents x 5) + (13 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (12 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 106 Ratings = 4.377
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Belvedere is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 38 registered maximum number of service users is 7.6, which has been reached with 8 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
