Staff are very friendly and understanding. An excellent unit manager who works hard. If there's any problem, they sort it out straight away to make my family satisfied.
I'm really happy for the care here in Greenfield.

Since mum moved to this unit, I have noticed a massive change in the care and management of her. I cannot praise the staff enough.

My 89-year-old mum had late stage dementia and a number of other health issues. After spending seven weeks in hospital the time came for her to be moved to a nursing home for her 'end of life' care.
We visited a number of nursing homes in our area and chose Greenfield because we sensed that the staff
were warm, caring and friendly and we also had a good feel for the place itself when we were shown around. We were also impressed by the Unit Manager who reassured us that our mum would be well looked after and would have her pain managed effectively.
Mum's stay at Greenfield was short but she was very well looked after by friendly and helpful nurses and support staff, who were also welcoming and supportive to family members.
Mum's pain control was managed effectively and she passed away peacefully. The family are very grateful to the (Maple) Unit Manager and to all the staff at Greenfield during what was a very difficult time for us.

I cannot praise Greenfield Care Home highly enough.
Although my dad is a recent resident, the whole team have provided much care, kindness and support to make him feel at home.
They have taken time to truly understand him and his nursing needs and have worked hard to make sure his quality of life
is as good as it can possibly be with his dementia.
Special mention for the general manager, the unit manager, all the nursing staff, the assistants and admin staff. In fact, every member of this team deserves a thank you. We, as a family are forever grateful for the love and support which makes the difference between living and existing.

Thank you to the brilliant staff looking after my brother-in-law. The nursing home is bright and pleasant to walk into. He has his own spotless clean bedroom. The staff are so helpful and kind. They converse as much as possible with his family, re medication etc., which is helpful in the forward-looking
care for him. Thank you!

The Unit Manager and her team at Maple House at Greenfield Care Home have cared for my mother tirelessly over the past 2 years. They were always professional and empathetic towards my mother during her stay and also myself and my family. It is fair to say that they have been a tower of strength.
In
days when it is all too easy for the media to only promote negative stories about care homes, I think it is important to provide some form of balance by saying that in my experience the level of care provided by the Greenfield team has far exceeded my expectations. My mother quickly settled in and considered it to be her home where she was lovingly cared for. She was able to surround herself with personal effects such as a display cabinet with ornaments in and books and plants which made the room so homely. I sincerely thank them on behalf of my mother who has now sadly passed away and myself together with my family for their exceptional level of care.

The care received in both Oak House and Maple House (Greenfields) has been outstanding. My father in law was treated with dignity, care and compassion, as were our family members. All the staff always greeted us with a smile and we felt they were all genuinely caring people. There was never anything
that was too much trouble for them to help my father in law with or to assist us too. A great team, lead by a great manager.

The standards of Maple House are excellent. Staff are friendly and caring, the home is clean and comfortable, meals varied and well presented.
Any problems or worries are dealt with promptly. Residents are treated with dignity and compassion. My sister is part of a family community which is a very
happy environment. Staff go out of their way to make everyone happy, including visitors.

The home covers several units.
The unit Mum is on, certainly provides the care she requires.
Staff are caring and thoughtful.
They are very welcoming with visitors.
I am always informed of any problems/changes with Mum's health and am happy with the service/care provided.
I am hopeful that the
new management will continue and, indeed, possibly improve, the good work of the home and the care of all the residents.
My only negative comment relates to the decoration in the unit's lounge/dining area - this needs refreshing, as does the decoration in Mum's bedroom.
Reply from Clare Sheehan, Care Advisor at Dovehaven LodgeThank you for your review, we appreciate all feedback received as this helps us to improve our service where required. Since coming to Greenfield my husband has had much better physical care but I feel that he is lacking in mental stimulation. The unit manager has said there will be extra training the new year and liaising with activities. /the staff treat my husband well and look after him. I find the new manager approachable
and sticks to her word and if I or my family have any ideas she acts on these and listens.

Mum had been a resident at Greenfield Care Home for over 65 years. Sadly we knew the end was approaching but the staff were amazing. The Manager and a member of staff who cared for Mum for years, both were kind beyond words up to the time she died. She was treated with care, love and dignity and we
couldn't have asked for more at a very sad time.

The manager and staff were very helpful when my mother first moved into the home.
My Mother was not happy in her first unit and neither was I. She has now moved and she is much happier and looked after better. They could do with more staff and needs decorating.

I am very pleased that Greenfield Care Home really did a good job of taking care of my Mother-in-Law. I noticed that she looks very radiant now. The home is very clean, staff are very helpful and always with a smile, plus they are very gentle to all the residents. At least myself and my Hubby are at
peace of mind thinking of the welfare of my Mother-in-Law. Thank you Greenfield Care Home and may God bless the residents and all the staff.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.121)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.121) out of 10 for Dovehaven Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 16 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.396 for Dovehaven Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (113 Excellents x 5) + (46 Goods x 4) + (14 Satisfactorys x 3) + (9 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 182 Ratings = 4.396
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.725 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Dovehaven Lodge is based on 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.85
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 80 registered maximum number of service users is 16. 14 Positive Reviews ÷ 16 = 0.875
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
