Staff have always been very kind, caring and compassionate with my parents, who are both residents at the care home.
They are very well looked after and appear to be as happy and healthy as can be expected.
Many thanks.

My father was only with Dovehaven for a few months due to his care needs changing quite quickly. I always found every member of staff friendly polite and professional. Covid-19 presented even more difficulties and I was only able to see Dad once on his 85th birthday. This was handled very sensitively
as it was distressing not being able to give him a hug. I can highly recommend this home to you.
Reply from Sara Allton, Home Manager at Dovehaven LodgeThank you for taking the time to write such a wonderful review, your father was a very special man. Myself and the team at Dovehaven Lodge really appreciate your kind words.

A lovely caring home where the whole team have worked so very hard to keep everyone safe during covid. They care so much for all the residents and have gone to so much effort to keep us included and reassured. Cannot sing their praises enough.

My husband has now been at the home for 2 years and myself and the family couldn't wish for him to be anywhere else, he is happy, in good health and enjoys his time with all the staff. He is well looked after. He is always well-fed, clean and tidy.
The staff are great with him and all the other residents.
Could do with more activities: singers, films etc.
I wanted to let all the people who work at Dovehaven Lodge know how much we appreciate the care and attention he gets from all.
The only thing I would like to mention is that the Beech Unit could do with being brightened up a bit.
Thank you to all.

I have been very satisfied with the way the staff react with my friend who needs reassurance and affection. Her medication is perfect, her anxiety has gone and she is able to cope with being with a lot of people after her life of quietness with just her husband and self for many years. She has adjusted
so well to accepting her place here, and the care she is given. I am given peace of mind when I visit her she is on the whole happy. The staff are all very patient indeed.

My friend has Alzheimers and Dovehaven Lodge was given to us on a list of appropriate homes. My friend was in there one week when she aspired and was admitted to the hospital. The gentleman that escorted her in the ambulance was lovely, though he couldn't converse in English. My friend couldn't go
back there. When her daughter went to collect her clothing and personal effects they were found to be in black bin bags in a cupboard. NB very few staff.

On behalf of my family, I would like to once again thank Dovehaven Lodge for the kindness and compassion shown to my dad during his final days. The support given to us a family was sensitive and caring during the period of dad's end of life care. My dad was a precious member of our family and as such
we are forever grateful to all the staff for their gentle and respectful care. Thank you from our hearts.

I would like to thank the staff at Greenfield Care Home for the fantastic care and treatment they provided for my mother over the last few weeks of her life and in particular, the palliative care they provide in the last few days.
They ensured my mother was comfortable and free from pain and provided
all the assistance and information to the family who were with my mother during her last few days. All the staff are a tribute to their profession and I and all the family thank them for their dedication.

I and my husband have visited this care home twice and the initial visit was pre-booked but the second visit was ad hoc. On both occasions, we were received with efficient, kindly and knowledgeable management and staff. We have been shown the facilities twice and on both occasions the rooms, social
areas, dining rooms, and bathrooms are spotless. The ambience is friendly and I would say buzzing as activities were in session both times. Ambient music, Wide clean corridors, pretty decorations and furnishings.

Hopefully, my relative will be able to move to this nursing home and I will feel happier that she can, in spite of her dementia, Enjoy her time.

Thank you

My mother came to stay in Greenfields after a stay in hospital and was made very welcome by the staff who helped her to settle in. She was given a lovely room which is always kept very clean. I am surprised at how quickly she did settle and she always seems happy when I visit.
The unit manager is very
responsive to any requests and all the other staff are very caring and considerate.

Mum has been on two of the other units and her care has been very hit and miss.
Whereas, in Maple Unit, the care is excellent and the staff are very attentive. The unit is well managed.
I cannot recommend the other units, the managers changed a lot, so no consistency. But no faults in Maple Unit.
Mum
is 93 and in late stages of dementia.
Reply from Clare Sheehan, Careline Advisor at Dovehaven LodgeThank you for your review; we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. No words could ever express my praise and thanks to the staff on maple unit. They truly are an amazing team who makes the house feel like one big family unit for the residents and family. My mum moved here from another care home and they restored our faith in the care system always going that extra
mile. They treated mum with the utmost dignity and respect from the minute she arrived right until she passed. The unit allowed the family to stay around the clock with her for the 3 days while she passed and went out of their way to make sure she was comfortable and made sure the family was also taken care of. Three members of staff, in particular, made the whole experience more comforting in the final days. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone who wants the best for their relatives it really is a home from home 5-star service.

Very pleased with the care of our mother since she moved into Maple Unit at the beginning of the year.
She is always up in a chair (i.e. not just left in bed) and staff interact with her all the time.
The staff are very friendly and keep us up to date with anything that's happening in regard to our
mother.
It is a very happy unit and much different to other units at Greenfield.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.121)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.121) out of 10 for Dovehaven Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 16 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.396 for Dovehaven Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (113 Excellents x 5) + (46 Goods x 4) + (14 Satisfactorys x 3) + (9 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 182 Ratings = 4.396
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.725 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Dovehaven Lodge is based on 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.85
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 80 registered maximum number of service users is 16. 14 Positive Reviews ÷ 16 = 0.875
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
