The standard of care and compassion and the thoughtfulness of the staff when it was apparent my wife was approaching the end of her life was second to none. I was able to stay with her for three consecutive nights before she passed away and nothing was too much trouble for anyone, from the matron to
the nurses to the cleaners and the kitchen staff. Not for the first time, I blessed the day I found such a wonderful nursing home for my wife to be lovingly cared for over the last two years and eight months of her life.

A nursing home peopled by caring, attentive and dedicated staff who try their best to make the experience for my relative comfortable, pleasant and well cared for. Each time we have visited my uncle, the staff have been busy but friendly and welcoming.

As always, the Old Rectory team continue to be superb, so caring and diligent. I know that Mum is in very safe hands and I am so pleased that I managed to get her into the Old Rectory. Whilst Mum is no longer able to avail herself of all the activities, I know that a lot of effort in thinking goes into

We couldn't have had a better home for my sister. She was looked after for two and a half years during the pandemic, which was hard for us and very hard for the staff and their families. She was always shown great care and dignity by everybody. In her last days, the care and compassion was a great comfort
to her family and I will be forever grateful to everyone who helped my dear sister. If I ever needed to be cared for, The Old Rectory would be my choice and recommendation to others.

Beautiful home from home. Mum seems happy to be here. Well kept stunning gardens and the inside is highly maintained. Staff are very welcoming, caring and are always able to answer questions. There are plenty of variations of activities for all to join in with. Had a lovely afternoon celebrating the
Queen's jubilee, the staff really went above and beyond to make this a special day for families and residents. Regular reviews to keep you updated and monthly newsletters so you know what is happening within the home, regarding activities, birthdays and special occasions. Fantastic communication and the staff are very approachable and extremely supportive. Staff really do know their job and the level of care mum receives is A*. Would highly recommend it!

My wife was made to feel welcome at your nursing home and was looked after professionally by all your staff, even though she was only there for 14 days respite, we would not hesitate should the time come for her to need full-time care to opt for The Old Rectory Nursing Home. She made some lovely friends
and loved every minute of her stay there. We both would like to thank you all for the love and care you provided. God bless you all, 5 star ratings.

A care home in a lovely location that appears very welcoming, with gardens well presented that make it enjoyable for the residents to sit outside. Inside is decorated and maintained to a high standard, the staff are all very pleasant and approachable and the level of care that my mother has received
has been really good as we can see an improvement in her well-being. A weekly activity programme of different activities is also a welcome addition to helping each day be slightly different.

This nursing home is the best by far. Our Mum has been here for the last 5 1/2 years and the care she is given is second to none. The staff are 100% dedicated to their roles and treat every resident as if they are their own.

I was very happy with the care Mum received at The Old Rectory. She was always treated with dignity and was happy there. She appeared to have a good relationship with the staff. Covid, of course, meant that there weren' t the same activities, but the staff did the best they could under the circumstances.
The staff were extremely helpful and caring with us, as a family, too when times were difficult for Mum.

My auntie has been living at the Old Rectory now for over 5 years, and although she can be challenging at times, she is looked after and cared for by the whole team, including admin and kitchen staff. The Old Rectory is a comfy nursing home, that concentrates on the word home, it doesn’t feel clinical
when you visit or have that smell of some nursing homes! Throughout the pandemic, the staff have worked tirelessly to protect all residents, often putting themselves at risk, and we can’t thank them enough. Not living close to The Old Rectory is often worrying, but the introduction of FaceTime has been fantastic for all, to be able to see the faces of our loved ones, and to be honest, it helps ease that ‘guilt feeling’ when a relative lives in a nursing home and you can’t get to visit as often as you would like. The Facebook page is great to see staff and residents enjoying activities. The staff are amazing people each with their own personalities which gel together to create a great team.

I honestly can say I didn't believe a place as outstanding as this existed. My husband was only in for a short period, but the genuine care he received was exceptional on every level, and I couldn't have asked for any more! So I thank you with all my heart.

It was a difficult decision for our family to support my wife’s request to go into a care home. It involved many family conversations and support from social services. The Old Rectory, Grappenhall was selected on the basis of personal recommendations, visits, and a guided tour with staff. My wife has
now been in the care home for approx 3 months. From the initial contact onwards the staff have been welcoming, professional and kind. Covid has presented great challenges for everyone. The Old Rectory has kept visitors well informed by emails etc of the changing situation regarding visits etc. The staff have helped my wife settle in, and have always been prepared to go the “extra mile” to help and support my wife. They have in my experience been kind, caring and respectful in demanding situations, often with a smile. I would have no hesitation recommending the care home to a family in similar circumstances.

The Old Rectory has dealt with the need to implement covid management in a very structured way and communication has been excellent. Now the Old Rectory is open, it is pleasing to see the re introduction of events including trips out, have to say I am waiting for the boat trip. Mum is dealt with in
a sensitive way and has made friends amongst the staff as well as residents. The staff may not believe this but Mum is far more relaxed than she has been for some time. The gardens are a great asset and weather depending, it’s great to see Mum out in the garden having a good time with the residents and staff. I think the food offering could be vastly improved by at least two choices at dinner and perhaps more variety at supper. The level of cleaning in Mum's room is excellent, this is really important as she takes pride in keeping her room neat and tidy. There are recurrent heating maintenance issues which it seems are none too easy to resolve.

I get the impression that working here is not just a job, the residents are part of the family and the staff work hard to ensure that the residents have the best possible quality of life. Each resident's unique needs and wishes are managed with dignity and respect whilst maintaining their individuality.
The team have worked tirelessly through the pandemic, which hit the home hard, putting the residents' needs and health before everything else. The environment is spotless, well maintained and feels welcoming as you enter without the "care home" feeling you get at some. Communication between the home and relatives is clear and regularly updated. Throughout the pandemic, we were kept informed of all changes and every effort was made to enable residents to maintain contact with their families. The Old Rectory raises the bar in care home provision.
