Summerville Care Home

After suffering a stroke Mum came to Summerville in Oct 2023 & was treated like Royalty which she truly believed she was. From day one until her passing in July 2026 every care was given to her ongoing needs. A much family thanks from all.

Sadly but not unexpectedly, my mum passed yesterday. She spent the last three years of her life at Summerville and was so well looked after. Thank you so much to all the staff who did everything possible to make the last years of her life comfortable and bearable. You are all truly amazing people! Thanks is not enough.

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Summerville, from our very first contact, the whole admission process was handled quickly, professionally, and with genuine care. We were amazed that mum was assessed at home and offered a room on the very same day. The carers, staff and everyone involved have made us feel so welcome from the start, and most importantly, mum is very happy and settled in. A special Thank you to the Deputy Manager who has gone above and beyond to support our mum and family

I can't thank all of the staff enough for the excellent care they provide for my mother from management, through to housekeeping and activities.

The staff are exceptional. The existing manager is amazing. She knows every single resident and is always checking on them. The staff are all lovely. The admin lady is so helpful and kind. The head nurse is amazing with my mum. She is well cared for and loved.

I have always found that the staff treat the residents with great care and respect.

Summerville is literally heaven sent for my mother the staff do everything within there power to make my mothers life as comfortable as humanly possible she's treated like royalty and the relationships myself and my mother have with all the staff is second to none. Thank you everyone for everything.

The care home is very friendly with very caring, compassionate staff. Catering is superb with a very varied menu.

All the staff at Summerville are very friendly and welcoming creating a very pleasant environment for both residents and visitors. My cousin is very happy there and I am extremely pleased with the care and attention he receives.

We have nothing but gratitude for the staff at Summerville. My Father has been in a care home for the preceding 3 years until his needs required nursing care. From the start, we were very impressed with the professionalism and compassion. Dad was made very welcome and swiftly made comfortable in his room. It was clear to all of us that each of the residents received a very personal level of care, Dad was no exception. The staff took the time to get to know Dad on an exceptional level. Such was their care, they always make decisive decisions in medical and nursing. Dad adored the staff. Support to our family will never be forgotten. Summerville is highly recommended.

Wonderful care of Mum, lovely staff. Couldn't thank all the nurses, cleaners, carers and all involved at Summerville enough, all so polite and helpful to not only residents but relatives and visitors as well, thank you all.

I want to mention the staff at Summerville, who have been exceptionally helpful to me during a difficult time of readjustment. They have not only cared for my husband, now resident, over the last weeks but also me. I have found it a very stressful time to adjust to living alone. Their care at every level is exceptional. Never too busy to listen, however large/small my concerns are. They are a dedicated team in every measure, I feel confident that they will listen and help at every level.

The change in my nan since she moved to Summerville is unbelievable. She looks amazing. She has gained weight and even her hair is back to the full, shiny style that she has always had. She had got so thin in her last home and her hair had even become thinner too. The staff are always so kind and caring to my nan and all of the other residents too. It's so lovely to see.

My mother-in-law seems to be getting excellent care at Summerville. Her room is always spotless. Her clothes are always clean and changed daily. The staff are quite respectful of Mum and seem quite responsive to her particular needs. Mum had been in another facility and has been quite pleased with the change. She gives high marks to the kitchen staff for good food that follows her dietary preferences.

Always something going on, singers, games, church and even a trip on a barge down the canal. Very pleased where she is!

Excellent care is provided to residents and family. Residents treated with respect and dignity and nothing was too much trouble. The staff without exception were kind, caring and courteous. Can't speak highly enough of them.

A warm, friendly and caring atmosphere. Some lovely staff, who have done a good job of keeping me informed regarding Mum (I live in Yorkshire so I really appreciate this). The rooms are lovely and the food is excellent.

Used the 'welcome bar' this afternoon to get together with family members to celebrate Mum's birthday. Spent a very pleasant hour. Many thanks to a certain member of staff for suggesting we use the room. Thanks to all.
