Special shoutout to Shirley! She and all the amazing staff and residents. :)
Food is very good ,with options.
Activities are very good.
Care given and observations are very good.
Room very basic, (can only comment on the one I've seen). Needs to be more welcoming.
Looking tired in places, but it is an old house, and in process of being decorated.
If I had any negatives, it would be the outside areas that let it down, definitely needs looking at, and a gardener, just for garden areas.
You're absolutely right that we have an ongoing redecoration programme, with several areas already scheduled...
I can only describe the staff at Hollymount care home as exempley, they are to a man all caring and respectful to the residents. The food provided is very good and nothing is too much trouble for the residents and visiting family. Unfortunately my husband has had to leave Holymount as his dementia has detereated.
Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful words. On behalf of the entire team at Hollymount Residential & Dementia Care Centre, we are truly grateful for your heartfelt feedback. It means so much to us to know that our staff's care, respect, and dedication made a positive impact during your...
My uncle always seems very happy and cared for when my sister and I visit. Today, we played a game of Bingo with him, and he won! There is always something going on for entertainment-wise, and the tea trolly with biscuits is usually passed around to his and our delight! The staff are all so very caring with all the residents, and the meals look great too.
Thank you for kindly taking the time to share your review. He does love to get involved with all of our activities and events, and it is always a pleasure for us, as he does so with such enthusiasm and joy. We have lots of events over the next week, including a summer fair day on the 31st,...
The care that my mother received was second to none. The staff are wonderful and caring. The building is a bit dated but they are slowly renovating. The love and care from the staff makes up for that.
They celebrate all festive holidays and this is accompanied with delicious homemade food.
They have an on-site hairdresser which I am told is amazing.
Kind regards from everyone at Hollymount.
My mum moved into Hollymount a couple of months ago and I’ve found the home to be just right for my mum. The staff have been so lovely and patient with my mum's dementia. They all work hard to keep all the residents occupied and entertained. My mum hardly ate anything before moving into the home but thanks to the chef and lovely kitchen staff she’s eating really well. My mum's room is cosy and clean and she’s been very comfortable there. I can’t thank everyone enough at Hollymount for giving excellent care to my mum.
Thank you for sharing your very kind words about the care of your mum. This means the world to us all and we have shared this with everyone in our team. Your mum settled in very well and we all love caring for her.
Lots of love from everyone at Hollymount.
I would recommend Hollymount.

Hollymount care home provides outstanding care and support for my father in his dementia journey. Hollymount is a welcoming and nurturing environment which responds effectively to Dad's changing needs.

My father had a fall which resulted in hospital admission. Not mobile enough to return home he was given 4 weeks in Hollymount to build him back up. My father arrived in a weak state both physically and mentally. Staff worked hard to gain his trust and by week four their relationship was mutually warm and caring. Humour played an important part in their daily routine too. My father is back walking with his frame and doing well. Thank you to all the staff.
Kind regards
The home is lovely and clean light and airy.
Dad has settled extremely well.
Kind regards,
Hollymount Care Home

My wife has been a resident of Hollymount Residential & Dementia Care Centre for some 5 years, initially suffering with moderate Dementia which as time has passed, has become much worse. During this period she has been looked after with great care, her needs have been attended to by a very helpful, kind and caring staff and I have no hesitation in recommending Hollymount Residential & Dementia Care Centre as an excellent establishment to anyone who needs their services.

The care she receives is very good but unfortunately Mum can communicate any more.
The activity programme keeps Mums mind occupied and the food is good and cooked on-site.

My wife has been in this care home for 14 months. I have only good comments about her care there. She is very happy there and is well looked after by caring staff who are well managed. Being 85 myself, it's good to know she is in safe hands. Her room is spacious, well presented and clean. Her clothes are kept in good condition, and she always looks so nice when I visit, which is often. The food and activities are brilliant. I have no complaints whatsoever about Hollymount.
If there is anything else you feel we can do, our door is always open.
I have found Hollymount a friendly caring home. Residents are treated like family and have regular activities to keep residents occupied and stimulated. The meals are excellent, my relative has always praised the meals, the staff are wonderful with the residents and should be proud of themselves for keeping the residents safe and continuing care throughout this very difficult 12 months.

Moving my dads care to Hollymount was the best decision I have made. Staff are so helpful, especially the manager. My dad loves the food, he always talks about the Chinese night and Sunday roast with all the trimmings.

For some time my Father had been living in a small flat on his own, his health and wellbeing had deteriorated over the last few years and although we tried to help him keep his independence we were very concerned after he had a number of falls at home and on occasion had been found wandering the streets alone late at night. He had been hospitalised for observations and finally came to stay at Hollymount! All I can say since he has been there, he looks so healthy and is being fed really well! The staff are fantastic and go the extra mile. The manager of Hollymount went out of her way on a number of occasions to help us as a family to see him and help my Dad to settle in, which has not been easy in these uncertain times. I feel this was the right thing to do, as we know he is safe now and hopefully soon we can visit more. Can't recommend Hollymount and the staff enough! Thank you.
Hi Joe,
Thank you for your kind comments and for sharing your experiences with us.
It is a pleasure for everyone at Hollymount to care for your dad. He settled in at the home very quickly and we have all loved getting to know more about him personally each day. We always look forward to him...
My mum has been in Hollymount since the end of September 2019. She seemed to settle in quite quickly. Mum had issues with her mobility but Hollymount was fantastic in helping mum get some of her mobility back. All the staff are kind and compassionate towards all the residents and their families. I am confident that mum is safe and very well cared for. I ring every two days any time of the day or night, and I have always been made welcome to visit anytime before lockdown. During lockdown, there has been no direct visits but Hollymount have provided excellent visiting facilities so I can still see mum.

Meet the Team (2)

I have worked in the care industry for over 20 years and been in a managerial position for over 6 years. I have worked with a range of clients, from young adults with learning difficulties and elderly clients in residential/dementia homes. I have a lot of qualifications and completed my level 5 in leadership and management, and achieved my qualification in dementia care mapping with Sterling University.
I thoroughly enjoy my work and get great satisfaction on a daily basis here at Hollymount. We are quite a big family here, and like to ensure that the home promotes equality and diversity. All support is tailored to the individual. I am passionate in improving staff knowledge which is essential to their roles which ensures they have the skills and knowledge to create the best for the organisation. Reflective practice is a huge part of my professional development, criticising my own practice is not always easy but taking a step back and taking another look at it can benefit me and my skills in improving my knowledge so I can become a role model for other staff. I like to feel that I am learning and changing as a result of all I do.
I have a 24 year old son who is very important to me and my family is paramount to me. Hollymount has my full dedication and I am looking forward to developing the service further and further improving the home.

Hi, my name is Shirley. I started as Activities Coordinator at Hollymount in 2022, prior to this I had worked at Hollymount as a care assistant.
I have had a very varied career which I feel enables me to bring a lot to the role.
I just love my role here at Hollymount and I find it very rewarding. It’s a vital part of the home and essential to the well-being of all our residents. The residents are full of character and have amazing stories to tell, I have made lots of friends and it’s great to see smiles on their faces.
