I was so nervous about visiting my friend PH but I needn't have been. The staff were so welcoming and friendly to us. 2 members of staff came into his room while we were there. Their kindness and gentleness to him was second to none. I also saw this with other service users too. I get they love what they do, it was heartwarming to see. The home itself is very clean. My friend has the best care home and everyone goes the extra mile.

I always enjoy coming here to visit my friend. from the moment you arrive, everyone is so friendly and welcoming, which creates such a lovely atmosphere. The home is always clean, tidy and well looked after and its clear that the staff take great pride in maintaining a comfortable environment The staff are always happy to chat and make both residents and visitors feel at ease. They genuinely care about the people they look after and it shows in the excellent care kindness and compassion they provide everyday. Its reassuring to know my friend is in such good hands. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a caring and supportive environment
I honestly can't thank everyone at Dearnevale enough for everything you do for my grandad. It truly feels like you have given me my grandad back. Seeing him smile again, laugh, join in with daily activities and enjoy life, I wasn't sure we would see this again, and it means more to me and our family more than words can express. From the moment he arrived at Dearnevale, he's been treated with such kindness, dignity, patience and respect. Thank you to an outstanding team.

My dad has been at Dearnevale for the past 15 months and they have given him the best 15 months of his life. The care provided is outstanding. Every member of staff is kind, caring and dedicated to ensuring residents feel valued and supported. They encourage my dad to get involved in activities, which has made a huge difference to his quality of life. At 84 years old, seeing him take part, enjoy himself, and stay active is a wonderful achievement. I can't thank the team enough for everything they do. I would highly recommend Dearnevale.

Dearnevale is brilliant with my grandad, they include him in everything that they do. He is very well looked after. I couldn't thank the staff enough for what they do. My grandad is fussy with what he eats so kitchen staff will make him anything that he wants. The managers are brilliant with him with letting him be able to do his activities in his room. The staff for taking him out shopping. He is doing so much better in here than where he was last.
I cannot praise Dearnevale enough. From the activities team to nurses and all the care staff. You do all do an amazing job. We are always confident that my sister is happy and well looked after. She's been so, so happy since moving in, and we're really thankful for that.

My mum has been in Dearnevale for nearly 2 years. Had excellent care from staff and all departments. Excellent meal times. We really enjoyed Christmas this year and all the festive activities put on. We would like to thank everyone for constant support they give our Mum and us as a family, always there to talk to if we have any concerns.

We was so worried that our daughter wouldn't settle! But Dearnevale is absolutely amazing our daughter gets involved in everything and loves to take part in everything what is going on and can not thank everyone enough for they support

Recently my dear friend passed away after 18 years of living at Dearnevale. I would like to commend the team at Dearnevale for the care and compassion that they provided from the beginning to the very end. My friend was in services from being a child and never truly felt like he belonged until he come to Dearnevale. They become a family to him and I am truly greatful to them for giving him the sense of belonging and support especially in his final parts of life. Dearnevale truly is the most outstanding home with the most outstanding team of staff.

Dearnevale Care Home is the best care home we have seen. The care what my son is given is 100% and more if you could give. Staff make me feel very welcomed. The home is clean and tidy the staff are always supportive to service users and family. I as a mum can not thank Dearnevale enough.

We have found Dearnevale to be the best place for our daughter, its well staffed and they all care for her very well. The management are always approchable if we have anything we have anything to discuss. The place is clean and well maintained. Our daughter is happy here and has a good relationship with many staff dispite her complex care needs and knows their names.

I find Dearnevale and all the staff are amazing the amenities, events and days out for people who live there are outstanding, as is the love and care the staff share, I am happy and at ease knowing my brother is being cared for and loved by staff who go above and beyond their duty.

If I could aware 10 stars to Dearnevale I would. The care my loved one recieves is absolutly outstanding, he is happy here which is so important. The standards kept at Darnevale out class the first carehome he stayed at. Without, Dearnevale I really don't know how I'd cope with life as I can't care at home for the needs he needs. Dearnvale has given life back to us all concerned.

What can I say about my husband's care home. From the minute you walk through the door it feels like a second home. From staff in the reception, management the care staff, the cleaners, skills team, everyone. Everybody treats me and my family with such respect and friendliness. I feel part of the family, the care they give my husband Paul and others is second to none, treating every person with individuality, respect and dignity. I don't know where I'd be without them. I call them Paul's Angel's. Everything is outstanding and the little touches are amazing.

My step dad is a resident in Dearnevale Care Home and I couldn't ask for him to be anywhere better. The staff who care for him are absolutely amazing and its so settling knowing that he has carers who truly love and care for him like their own family! They always go above and beyond to make sure my step dad is happy and comfortable and looked after properly. They also show so much love and support to our family at ay time that is needed and we are so grateful .

After my mum's journey through her appalling and disgusting care home, mum is now in Dearnvale Grimethorpe, very settled, care-free and loved with dignity and respect. We can now sleep at night with rest.

Visit quite often to see my father-in-law on any basis and can categorically say we are truly overwhelmed with the care that's provided. The staff are second to none and deserve a commendation for their skills and politeness towards him and his family. The home is very clean and all times and pleasant odour too. Hi, I’m Helen and I’m the Registered Manager at Dearnevale in Grimethorpe, Barnsley.
I qualified as a Nurse in 1986 after completing my training at the Sheffield School of Nursing. My ambition from the age of three was always to be a Nurse, and I’m so proud that I achieved it!
After qualifying, I worked at Lodge Moor Hospital in the infectious disease unit, and then in general medicine before joining the British Army and serving in the Queen Alexandra Royal Army Nursing Corps.
Following my time in the Army, I worked for the Ministry of Defence in Germany.
When I returned to England, I started working in elderly care and general rehabilitation, including in a specialist stroke rehabilitation unit.
I joined Dearnevale, part of Exemplar Health Care, in February 2008 working as a Nurse.
In the summer of 2008, I became Unit Manager in Darbyshire Unit at the home, and in 2010, I became Clinical Nurse Manager.
Five years later I moved into the Home Manager role. I’ve loved that my whole career with Exemplar Health Care has been spent at Dearnevale – it’s my second home and family!
