I was assured by the manager that Dad would have plenty of interaction with other residents and there were lots of activities to get involved with. However, activities were non-existent and he and most of the other residents spent times outside of mealtimes in their own rooms or wandering the corridors.
There are lovely lounges on both floors but I never saw any residents in them.
It’s a huge place, in superb grounds but unfortunately, unless you take your loved ones outside yourself they never see daylight.
The carers did their best and all seemed pleasant but there just didn’t seem nearly enough for the number of residents there which lead to long waiting times for the buzzer for help to be answered and no interaction at all except the very basic care for the residents.
Fortunately, we were able to go inside and experience daily life there and very quickly had Dad transferred to a much better home.

I cannot speak positively enough about this care home - the staff, the setting and the accommodation are spot-on. My parents have been in the care for just over a year, and they are very happy and settled. Their move into the care home was quite literally a lifesaver - thank you.

In our experience, mum and dad were treated by all staff at Treeton Grange with care and dignity. The home appeared to be well run.
Specialist emotional support for dementia patients and additional time/care needed for deaf/blind patients was not readily available. We appreciate that this is difficult
to provide given the number of residents and day to day requirements but we mention it as we feel this would improve quality of life for residents with these challenges.
Much greater transparency is needed on the cost of care. The weekly charge should be explained with a detailed breakdown of running costs.

Since arriving at Treeton Grange, Mum has been well looked after, with a high standard of both basic and nursing care. All staff have been friendly and very helpful in settling Mum in. Bedroom is always clean and tidy and comfortable enough.

Mum and Dad were made to feel very welcome and allowed plenty of time to decide if they wanted to become permanent residents.
The carers are excellent they seem to be aware of any issues and are quick to respond to any problems.
We are particularly impressed with the number of varied activities provided
which really helps Mum (as she suffers from severe depression).
The room they have is lovely, with a great aspect, and contains everything they need.

A good care home, nice and clean, the food is nice.
The staff are caring and friendly, work hard although seem a little short-staffed at times.
The gardens are well kept and allow visitors to come and go at reasonable times.

The main thing you want for your relative is good care. At Treeton my Mum has excellent care from all staff. They always have a smile on their face and a witty remark on hand. And the activities are fantastic and very enjoyable for the residents. Mum hardly ate when she went into Treeton, now she is
eating 3 good meals a day and it is so good to see her with her appetite back. Moving Mum into Treeton is the best thing I have done for her health.

Staff are always kind and sympathetic to my aunt (who is not responsive) whenever I observe interactions.
Costs are reasonable, the facility is clean and welcoming, though the decor is traditional and homely.
Communication about my aunt's condition is prompt if there are concerns, though in relation
to finances responses tend to be much slower.

Overall standards are good. My relative is very settled and comfortable in her surroundings.
My only area of dissatisfaction is the occasional lack of hygiene, i.e. allowing residents to wash their hands after going to the toilet, being provided with wet wipes to clean their hands before meals, incontinence
pads to be changed more often.

to sit out and enjoy the sunshine and have a walk around them.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.600)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.600) out of 10 for Treeton Grange is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.800 for Treeton Grange is calculated as follows: ( (87 Excellents x 5) + (15 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 105 Ratings = 4.8
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Treeton Grange is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 50 registered maximum number of service users is 10. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 10 = 0.9
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
