Wife has only been in Treeton Lodge since 30/06/2025. Had a few problems at the start, but they were soon solved. Staff are great, they feel like family. Staff have a few minor problems, but these will be sorted.

My mother-in-law resided at Darnall for 1 year. During that time we were happy with the care she received. The home was clean and all of her needs were met. The staff were always friendly and welcoming. However we were disappointed to be informed that her residence was terminated by telephone whilst
we were out of the country on holiday. Staff felt they could no longer meet her needs due to the risk of falls. She is 94 years old and currently has nowhere to live!

Mum has been staying here for 5 months now. We have found all the staff to be very caring and friendly. They have been very alert and aware of mums care needs. This has definitely helped mum to settle here and helped us with the transition.

Mum moved into Ackroyd in December 2024 from a different (unsatisfactory) care home setting. From my very first contact with Ackroyd, the managers and staff were friendly and extremely supportive. Mum's last 10 months were difficult due to her worsening health and dementia, but staff always treated
her with respect, dignity and kindness. Staff were always present in communal areas and could answer any questions regarding mum's care, sleep, food etc. using a phone app that was regularly updated. The standard of food was amazing, always well presented, delicious and appropriate to the resident's requirement. Mum always enjoyed her meals until latterly when her condition deteriorated. In her last few days the staff were fantastic, treating mum with dignity and keeping me informed of every development.
During mum's time at Ackroyd I always felt happy with, and had confidence in, their very capable, caring staff.

Excellent visit to see my cousin. The staff are amazing, attentive, caring and very pleasant and informative to us as visitors. I just wish I lived nearer, I would visit very much more and would be supportive to the wonderful home.

For the duration of my mother's stay in Akroyd House, she has been looked after to a very high standard. All staff and management have cared for her and treated her with respect. My mum sadly passed away on 11th September, and she was treated with dignity. Management and staff talked me through her
passing. They were fantastic with me. I can't thank them enough for everything.

Our father's previous care home was unable to meet his needs and we were faced with having to move him. This was no easy task. However from the very first meeting, Janet, the manager, and her team were hugely supportive. Janet went above and beyond the call of duty to help us with this very difficult
transition for our father. Since then, the support from management, the nursing and the care team has been of a very high quality. Communication across the care home is excellent.
We are provided with regular updates about his medical/nursing needs and generally how he appears to be from day to day. Our father has presented as quite agitated and difficult to manage at times. However, we feel very confident and reassured that he is well looked after and cared for by the staff and that his changing needs are being monitored and addressed.
Additionally, the food is great and we feel very welcome as a family. Many thanks for all your support and looking after our father so well!

Admitted 8/8/25 from hospital after broken femur surgery. I was booked into room 44 by an extremely professional lady. She was very efficient, friendly and surprisingly deaf aware. The latter a big plus as my family, genetically profoundly deaf and suffers the ignorance especially by the NHS. My daughter
in attendance is sensory operational head in the HNS and was extremely impressed by this lady's professionalism. The staff encountered were co-operative, efficient and always a smile on their faces. On my 1st night I couldn't sleep and had to all for assistance to the toilet 5 times and each time met with a smiley face! until leaving on 20/8/25 these same standards were maintained. The food was outstanding quality - yum! Even though I was glad to be leaving, there was a certain reluctance to leave! Briefly Darnell Grange was the 5* amongst all 5*'s. Thank you!

My dad following a fall was admitted to Darnall Grange Care Home 60hrs ago at the time of this review. The moment we all arrived 2.5 days ago following his discharge from hosp he has been treated with the upmost respect, dignity and care. The staff cannot do enough for you and to ensure you feel at
ease and involved. The Deaf awareness of staff was second to none! I'm so impressed and reassured knowing my dad is in the safe hands of this care home. The fact physios are available to support with his rehab & recovery programme means dad is determined to get back on his feet again. Our mum is already happy and settled knowing her husband of 60 years marriage is being looked after and in their safe hands. It's only been 2.5 days and already are minds are at rest Thank you for just being amazing and making this care home a home-from-home experience - we are truly thankful

All though my father only has his last two weeks of life in this care home we was looked after exceptionally well. The staff made sure he was fed, clean and comfortable in his final days and treated with dignity I would definitely recommend.
