Darnall Grange Care Home

A first class facility with excellent service throughout. My Mum has settled in really well (over a year now). The people at all levels are so friendly and engaging and without doubt I know mum is safe now. The medical and nursing side of things is 100% satisfactory and there 24/7 for her. We are very happy to endorse Darnall Grange to anyone.

My dad was referred here for rehab after a fall, never expected him to get back on his feet walking again, but he did after the great support he had here. Darnall Grange (upper floor) has a great team which are lovely welcoming, supported Dad for all his needs. we believe he was taken Care of very well staff was amazing

My mother has received not only compassionate care but also kindness and empathy. A special thank you to the manager who has always listened and actioned any requests. The staff are genuinely happy to provide care and attention to the families as well as the residents. It's reassuring to find nursing homes doing their jobs so well. Thank you.

My mum came in for rehab after being in hospital, then Mum asked to come back in for respite for 2 weeks. Mum has asked to stay permanently, so this makes me feel straight away Mum's happy here. When we have spoken before about her needing care in the future, she was adamant she was not going into care. So this has come as a surprise, she wanted to stay. I'm happy she's happy and safe. The staff are very caring and friendly and the manager is very approachable, which is good. Mum seems more herself since she came in here, she's eating and drinking better and back socialising, which she stopped doing at home. So overall this is the best decision Mum's made and I don't have to worry as much about her and she is happy.

My partner was transferred to Darnall Grange after a stay in hospital. I must say that the physiotherapy he received was so good. All the staff, from the doctors to the domestics were so helpful. He is now home and his mobility has improved so much since being in your home. Thank you.

After quite a few recommendations about Darnall Grange our mum was transferred from another home. We are so pleased with Mum's care. She is always clean, well-fed and cared for. Nothing is too much trouble from all the staff, who are very friendly, welcoming and polite, very dedicated to their residents. The food quality is good and plentiful. A well-run care home. Thank you team for taking care of our mum.

Visited Magdalen (in a rehabilitation placement) as it was her son's wedding day and she was too ill to attend, so we were surprising her with an afternoon tea and video link to the service. All staff, particularly Caron, the activities co-ordinator, were amazing. Polite, friendly, professional, going the extra mile to support us in making Magdalen's day as special as it could be under the circumstances. It was really positive to find Magdalen in a chair aerobics class too on arrival! Simply first-class.

My mother was admitted to Darnall Grange for rehabilitation following a very nasty fall. She has had excellent care and has gone from being unable to walk to being mobile with a frame in 3 weeks and is now back home. The carers have been excellent, very kind, always supervising residents in the lounge. Great efforts were made to maintain hydration with fluid/drinks always available. The quality of food was good and appropriate. The home was spotless with cleaners present all the time. The overalll care was excellent.

My mum was a resident at Darnall Grange for 6 years and whilst there received nothing other than excellent care. The staff and management always treated their residents with care and dignity. Staff were always very welcoming and looked after mum really well.

My mother-in-law resided at Darnall for 1 year. During that time we were happy with the care she received. The home was clean and all of her needs were met. The staff were always friendly and welcoming. However we were disappointed to be informed that her residence was terminated by telephone whilst we were out of the country on holiday. Staff felt they could no longer meet her needs due to the risk of falls. She is 94 years old and currently has nowhere to live!

Admitted 8/8/25 from hospital after broken femur surgery. I was booked into room 44 by an extremely professional lady. She was very efficient, friendly and surprisingly deaf aware. The latter a big plus as my family, genetically profoundly deaf and suffers the ignorance especially by the NHS. My daughter in attendance is sensory operational head in the HNS and was extremely impressed by this lady's professionalism. The staff encountered were co-operative, efficient and always a smile on their faces. On my 1st night I couldn't sleep and had to all for assistance to the toilet 5 times and each time met with a smiley face! until leaving on 20/8/25 these same standards were maintained. The food was outstanding quality - yum! Even though I was glad to be leaving, there was a certain reluctance to leave! Briefly Darnell Grange was the 5* amongst all 5*'s. Thank you!

My dad following a fall was admitted to Darnall Grange Care Home 60hrs ago at the time of this review. The moment we all arrived 2.5 days ago following his discharge from hosp he has been treated with the upmost respect, dignity and care. The staff cannot do enough for you and to ensure you feel at ease and involved. The Deaf awareness of staff was second to none! I'm so impressed and reassured knowing my dad is in the safe hands of this care home. The fact physios are available to support with his rehab & recovery programme means dad is determined to get back on his feet again. Our mum is already happy and settled knowing her husband of 60 years marriage is being looked after and in their safe hands. It's only been 2.5 days and already are minds are at rest Thank you for just being amazing and making this care home a home-from-home experience - we are truly thankful

The care home is such a caring and supportive place, not only for the family resident but also for the families. They make you feel welcomed and you know your family member will be totally looked after, cared for and secure. The residents are helped constantly, nothing is a problem, always there to make sure your family member is comfortable, safe and as happy as they can be. We felt that we could relax knowing so much our family member was safe, and we could visit any time. The food was amazing, good choice and catered for everyone and their needs. I will greatly miss all the staff who looked after my dad.
