Darnall Grange Care Home

Right from our first visit, we were impressed with Darnall Grange. The place itself is spotlessly clean, airy , pleasant and well-decorated. it's the staff, though, that make Darnall Grange such an exceptional place, and that made us more than happy to place our mother here. Everyone we met and dealt with, no matter their role or rank within the organisation, was exceptionally warm, welcoming and helpful. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and you could tell that all staff genuinely cared for those in their charge, and treated everyone as an individual; with warmth, respect and a genuinely sunny disposition. We would not hesitate to recommend Darnall Grange.

I would like you to know that care home I have been given excellent care to me whilst staying at Darnall Grange. All the staff have been excellent from nurses, carers, cleaners, kitchen staff and everyone been so kind and caring to me. I have heard so many bad stories about care homes but this one gets 100%. One of my friends also stayed here and she told me that this is the best care home. Staff always have a smile and they treat me with dignity and respect. Thank you to management for having care staff at Darnall Grange.

The staff are absolutely brilliant, so friendly, helpful and jolly. The home is clean and very well run. The food is very good and nothing is too much trouble. Good atmosphere, parking is good. The rehabilitation isn't as intensive as I would have liked for my husband but they were very caring.

I have always found this care home to be excellent and I am more than happy with excellent care that my mother receives. The staff are very caring and kind and they treat my mother with respect and dignity. I am always kept up to date if my mum has any issues. I would highly recommend this home to anyone.

My brother was a resident at Darnall Grange for over a year. I can not praise the staff enough for the excellent care given to him by not only the carers but nursing staff and house keeping.

My dad was discharged from the hospital to Darnall Grange Care Home into a rehab bed. The staff team all made the effort to care and meet all of Dad's personal and medical needs. Dad became a resident in Sept/Oct and had his final days there. Dad was happy and safe and my sister and I were also cared for by all staff which helped us enormously. We will be forever grateful to the team there. We cannot thank them enough.

I have had a great expereince while here. The staff carers and physiotherapists have all been amazing towards me. I have been treated with respect and compassion the whole time I have been here. With encouragement and patience, I have been able to get some of my mobility back. I am very grateful to everyone here.

My husband has been a resident at Darnall Grange Care Home for 8 months now. I believe that under the excellent care manager, the team provide a high standard of care to the residents. I visit almost daily and have observed genuine kindness and consideration by the carers. The staff are welcoming and I am always offered a drink. The staff encourage families to dine with the residents which I do on a regular basis. The food is freshly prepared and varied. A big thank you to the whole team.

Did not know what to expect in your care home but everything was perfect with the care I received. The staff and food was very good. Thanks to all the staff and management. Well done.

A good friend of mine has now been in Darnall Grange for six months. When asked now he found it he said " I am sometimes lonely but the care from the staff is excellent". The outstanding feature of Darnall Grange for me is the friendliness of the staff and the respect and consideration they show to both residents and their visitors. I wish all nursing homes were like Darnall Grange.

From my being admitted into Darnall Grange I was made to feel comfortable and at ease by all the staff. They all do everything for you and nothing is too much trouble. My mum has been a resident for two years. From the very beginning, all the staff made her as comfortable as possible, My wife's grandmother had previously been a resident and had a comfortable stay at Darnall Grange as well. Therefore we had no hesitation in choosing Darnall Grange for our mum.

Although my room was very clean, the commode was not cleaned every time I used it. Also, I had a bath (which was marvellous) but the transfer seat had poo on it which I found disgusting. Some of the carers were not trained in that. Nobody came to me telling me about any activities which I would have responded to as I was spending all day in my room with the exception of physio. Having said that all the carers/nurses were on the whole great and so were the physio. Just need to get the commode sorted. I would recommend them.

My brother has been in the care home for about 3 months now. He is happy and his needs are met. The care and attention given to him by the staff is outstanding. Nothing is too much trouble. On Valentine's Day, they organised a care and special meal for him to share with his amazing wife. They treat him with respect and understanding. Watching the staff with other residents, I can see this is across the board. The food is well cooked and everywhere is very clean.

Exceeded our expectations because the staff were absolutely fabulous. They could not have been more caring and pleasant. They always brought a smile to Mum's face.

After being in hospital for 3 weeks the staff and home were lovely. I am grateful for all the help and care I have received.
