Broomcroft House warmly welcomes residents in need of nursing or residential care, including those living with dementia or Parkinson’s. Its highly professional team is also experienced in palliative, convalescence and respite care.

The home consists of two two-storey houses that both have well-furnished sitting rooms, spacious dining rooms and bedrooms with en-suite facilities. The lower floor is specially adapted for those with physical frailties and there is good wheelchair access throughout.

Residents’ individual food preferences are incorporated into daily menus and discussed with individuals shortly after their arrival. There is always a choice of hot and cold dishes and snacks and drinks are available throughout the day.

The activity programme is arranged to suit all personal interests and some residents have set up their own painting and knitting clubs. Days out and organised excursions also feature.

During the recent heavy snowfall, some carers elected to stay overnight and were able to care for us the next day. The hostess stayed and worked in the laundry and then progressed to peeling potatoes for our meal. The next day, the admin lady helped get me ready for bed. The following day at least one
staff member walked through extremely deep snow to reach us. We certainly have some extremely caring staff.

My mother has been in Broomcroft House Care Home for 8 months now and I have been very satisfied with all aspects of her care. The staff are amazing and very caring, always on hand to answer any questions about Mum and take as much interest in the wider family as well as my mum. They always find time
to chat with her, whilst making sure she is clean and well cared for all the time. The food is good and Mum enjoys her meals. The hostess really knows her stuff when it comes to controlling Mum's diet and will always try to ensure she has her favourite meals. Her room is lovely and is kept very clean and tidy by the excellent housekeeping staff. Mum also enjoys getting involved in the activities. Everyone is so friendly when we visit and it makes it easier to leave knowing how well Mum is cared for. I cannot recommend this place highly enough for your loved ones.

My dearest mother was a resident from April 2021 to January 2023, when she died peacefully, aged 100 years. The level of care my mother received exceeded expectations. Initially, it took time for her to settle, however, with staff providing excellent care and endless patience, she settled and appreciated
everything this home had to offer. My brother and I were welcomed and cared for too by the amazing staff. Thank you for everything.

My Aunt was a resident of Broomcroft House Care Home for 16 years, the care she received was outstanding, the staff always went above and beyond to ensure she was comfortable and happy in her surroundings, in earlier years she happily involved herself in the activities that the home arranged and enjoyed
sitting in the dining room listening to the chatter going on around her. Latterly as her health deteriorated she was confined to her room but the staff (many of whom have worked with her for a number of years) always found the time to pop in for a chat as well as providing the obvious care requirements. I would recommend Broomcroft House Care Home and I have to say all of the staff are amazing.

My father has been a residence on the dementia unit at Broomcroft since January 2021 and my mother has also spent time here. I simply cannot praise the staff enough for the care, compassion, empathy and love they have shown to my parents and my family. From the management down everyone working at Broomcroft
display an unimaginable work ethic and commitment to the residents, they care for. I cannot thank them or praise them enough.

My husband came into care in January 2021 and has dementia, and from day one the staff have been amazing. The care he has received from every member of staff has been wonderful. I recently came for two weeks respite care and found exactly the same care, help and friendliness just brilliant. Nothing
was too much trouble for them. We as a family cannot thank them enough for all they have done for us in a difficuly year.

The care provided was both medically and physically extremely good. My partner was kept very comfortable and pain-free during his stay in Broomcroft. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who also cared for me showing care and compassion at all times. I could not have asked for anymore during his

My wife has been a resident in Broomcroft for almost three years and this is my third review. I am still of the same opinion that this home is an excellently run care home from the management down to the maintenance department. I cannot fault the nursing and caring staff in any way. It gives me great
peace of mind knowing that my dear wife is looked after by all these lovely people. Even though management has changed in the past few weeks, the running of the home still remains the same and long may it continue.

My mother came to Broomcroft three months ago for end of life care. The manager dealt with my initial queries with kindness, sensitivity and professionalism at an extremely difficult time, and I was instantly convinced that this was the place for my mum to spend her final days. Throughout her time at
Broomcroft she has been treated with kindness, courtesy and love. She is extremely well cared for and the professionalism, responsiveness and support of the staff, for myself as well as for mum, have made these few weeks much easier than they might have been. I have nothing but praise and thanks for every single person who works here; the grounds and maintenance staff, the catering and housekeeping department, the carers, the medical team and the administrators appear to operate as part of a 'family' of care who have made my mum feel loved and safe. I cannot put into words how grateful I am for everything that they have done for us and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Broomcroft House.

Broomcroft is a large residential care home that employs trained and caring staff of the highest standard. The management follow procedures from regional and national level which sometimes makes for sluggish and autopilot responses. While I sence that the management battle against these directives from
above it's a conflict that the excellent staff win. Their caring and compassionate service is excellent from the nurses and carers to the cleaners and cooks.

I found my brother very well cared for. He slid from his chair and within seconds five people were in his room and another with a hoist superb.
However, my husband and I thought he was dehydrated by the way he took drinks greedily.

Broomcroft House is an outstanding Nursing home, this can be demonstrated by the high-quality care and support my brother receives from all the staff team. The staff are trustworthy helpful compassionate and responsive. Everyone is treated with dignity and respect. Communication is excellent, all the
staff are happy to welcome you and discuss any needs you or your relative have.
The management and staff team are very well trained this is reflective of how organised and safe the home is, my brother and I love the happy homely atmosphere.
I am very impressed by how many qualified nursing staff are on duty, safety is paramount at Broomcroft House.
The staff team are a step ahead at all times, these qualities reflect a well trained organised registered manager and team.
My brother states he loves his new home that he feels safe and all the staff who provide him support is amazing happy people and nothing is too much trouble. I would highly recommend Broomcroft House.

All the staff have been kind and helpful over the last year. Due to the Covid Pandemic, I was unable to visit my Mum indoors in her room for over 12 months. Broomcroft staff helped me to maintain contact with Mum through video calls and window visits. (An indoor visiting facility would have been
better during the cold winter months!) I have had to rely on the staff to look after every aspect of my Mum's needs. This they have done with great care.
We can now have one indoor visit per week but I feel this should be increased as both Mum and I have had 2 vaccinations, as have the majority of the staff and residents in Broomcroft.

Staff are caring and helpful and have managed my mother's changing needs. I have been contacted very quickly if there has been a problem, or my mother has had a fall. The food is very good. Living a long way away, the regular Zoom meetings have been very useful.

We feel she is treated with respect, care and love. We certainly chose the best care for our mum. (And also they take an interest in us and our wellbeing).

My husband came to Broomcroft House for four weeks of respite care. As we were in lockdown, I could only communicate with him by phone, which was always given to home. It was only on his last week, that I was allowed to visit him. Everything was very nice, but as he's suffering from dementia, he didn't
remember any food he'd eaten or activities he'd done. I was there for one tea meals, and it all looked very nice. Don't have experience with charges, but seemed reasonable. All staff very friendly and helpful.

Cannot praise Broomcroft Highly enough. Mum settled in straight away and loves her time here. Staff are experienced, warm and caring. Food, five stars, beautifully presented and always looks varied and nutritious. Daily activities are wonderful, arts, crafts and pamper sessions. Broomcroft is like home
from home. Scrupulously clean, bright, well-furnished rooms. Already booked my place here!

My Mum has been at Broomcroft House since 2019. The nursing home is well maintained and the staff are very good with my Mother's needs. Her condition has gotten worse but the staff are always aware and ready to adapt and change her care plan to cover her growing needs. I feel that my Mum is safe and

The home has a very friendly atmosphere. The majority of staff are excellent to good, most try to give good service. Breakfasts and lunches are very good. Evening meals do not reach the same standards, especially homemade sausage rolls and pasties etc.
Management is exceptionally friendly and competent.
Laundry, cleaning and general care are very good.

I have been managing nursing and residential care homes for five years and joined Broomcroft House in March 2024.


I started working as a care assistant in 2008 and worked my way up to become a home manager. I have Level 5 in health and social care management and have previously worked as a dementia coach.


I have a passion for elderly care and promoting people’s dignity and respect. I want to leave work at the end of the day knowing I’ve made a positive difference to somebody’s day.


Originally from Sheffield, I now live in Derbyshire. I have a daughter and I love going away in our caravan and spending time out in the peak district.

I did care in the community until 2014 in Wales and then moved home to Sheffield and decided that I’d like to work in a care home setting. I am a passionate and outgoing person who loves to make a difference to people’s lives. I come from a background of a bachelor’s degree in journalism studies and recently graduated with a Masters in Filmmaking. I wanted to become an activities coordinator at Bupa to use my people skills and life skills and incorporate them into care home life to make residents days fun and fulfilled, creating the person-centred care that they deserve.


I love making a difference to people’s lives and I get to do that every day in this job. I love that I get to meet new people everyday and learn about their lives and families.


I moved to Sheffield from the West Midlands six years ago to study at university. I also grew up going to the Peak District, so having that nearby is fantastic. I fell in love with Sheffield, and I never went back. I am a massive extrovert who loves people and learning about them. I have two beautiful cats (Poppy and Mowser) with my partner. I enjoy walking , camping, singing, anything crafty, roller skating and most importantly, dancing and having a boogie to some disco music (my favourite)!

My background is working with children - I started off as a childminder and also worked in a school; I have always loved caring for people. I like working in care services as I love to see the residents smile and laugh, and know that the activities we do make a difference to their lives.


I have two children, and live locally to the home. In my spare time I enjoy spending it with my family and going on weekends away!
