The Laurels and The Limes Care Home

Carers & all staff (MGT down to cleaners) are very friendly & respectful of my mother. The new manager hasn't been here very long but is implementing lots of measures to ensure residents are cared for with dignity. Family members are made welcome and the management & staff are always available to listen if their relative needs anything more. Food is always nourishing and staff cater to residents' wishes regarding portion size etc. More carers would be ideal although I understand budget constraints.

My relative has been a resident since February, 2024. We have always found the staff caring and patient. They treat my relative with kindness and respect whilst responding to his sense of humour. Cleanliness is maintained by 2 fantastic domestics who work tirelessly to keep the environment pleasant. The new manager is excellent and is bringing in changes which are for the better and shows her commitment to the residents. Things like new chairs and soft furnishings, repurposing some of the communal areas, improving the dining areas which includes nice table settings and pictorial menus. The grounds are well maintained and provide a lovely outdoor space.

Very clean, almost hotel like feel. The staff are all very caring and attend to residents needs. The staff are attentive with dad making sure he is happy, always looking smart. Dad enjoys living here, lots going on and enjoyable the whole experience for dad has been very good. He has settled well.

My mother was in the Laurels for just over 3 years from December 2022 and was looked after with kindness. She always seemed happy and at ease when I went to visit. The staff were always attentive and happy to answer my questions. In her last few difficult weeks when her mobility declined, she was looked after with great care and sensitivity.

My Dear Mum moved into The Laurels and Limes Care home in January 2023, she was very happy living in the Limes where she made friends out of both residents and care staff who looked after her with kindness, dignity and respect, sadly my Mum passed away 02-01-26 in the later stages off her life all the staff supported and comforted us, but most importantly they comforted my Mum hardly ever leaving her side. In the years she was there we as a family will always be grateful for the care she received from the wonderful care givers who really are unsung heroes your kindness and humanity did not go unnoticed by us

No complaints at all and I can recommend this home.

My mother entered The Laurels and The Limes in August 25 to receive terminal care. Throughout her care the staff were brilliant with both her and us. My mother was treated with dignity and care by all the staff including by those not directly involved with her care such as admin, housekeeping, maintenance and catering. I was often surprised that a staff member that I had never seen before would greet my mother by name and ask how she was.

The home works hard to provide a broad range of activities and events to entertain the residents.

Upon arrival there was an issue with the carpet in my mother's room but this was replaced in a couple of weeks for a new laminate one. Anything that we needed the home we're happy to try and accommodate.

Finally the medical team kept us fully updated with my mother's palliative care and her final days were as comfortable and pain free as possible.

The unfailing good natured patience, humour, energy and warmhearted care of the staff is brilliant

My mother has just spent the last 10 weeks in the Limes portion of this care home for end of life care after a cancer diagnosis. Myself and all my family have been blown away by the care she has received. Every single member of staff I have encountered has been so kind and compassionate. I would have no hesitation in recommending this place to anyone facing the difficult situation of having to find quality care for a loved one. I have come away full of respect and admiration for the lovely people who work so hard and so cheerfully, looking after the sick and elderly in just the way one would hope for.

Where do I begin? From manager, cleaners, laundry, all carers, nurses management. Everyone so kind, caring, efficient, many go the extra mile always (you know who you are). I initially came for 2 weeks respite with a view to permanent, circumstances changed and I am still here. I do not have words to describe the empathetic care, support and love I have received from management, without their continued support I could not have coped. Way, way beyond anything anyone could expect. Big, big thank you to you all. I almost forgot to mention activities, which have improved 100% since new organiser arrived. Seems hat the sky is the limit. Nobody overlooked no matter what their needs. I have previously had respite care in several care homes in s.Yorkshire/Derbyshire which were all good. However, none could match The Limes excellent, superb, team. I can definitely whole heartedly recommend.d

I am deeply grateful to all the staff at The Limes for the outstanding care they gave my mother during her 20-month stay, and especially in her final days. From the beginning, she was treated with kindness, dignity, and genuine warmth. The team consistently went above and beyond to make her feel comfortable and safe, creating a true sense of home.

Throughout her time there, I witnessed the patience, compassion, and professionalism of the carers, nurses, and support staff. Communication with me and the family was always thoughtful and reassuring.

In her final days, the staff showed incredible empathy and support, not only for her but for me as well. Their gentle presence and attentiveness brought comfort during an extremely difficult time.

Since my mum came to The Limes nearly three years ago she has been looked after by an amazing set of carers. Nothing is too much trouble for them. All staff are caring, kind and helpful to both Mum and her family. It's an amazing place.

Lovely coffee and cake afternoon which was great for Dad to have a change of scenery. The care home is great - I know Dad is being looked after, staff are lovely - great.

Always happy to come to The Lines and see my mother-in-law. She is always well dressed and cared for. I like how the staff treat her and all the residents and are always very welcoming.

I've always found all the staff very welcoming, helpful and very caring. The activity ladies do a fantastic job of keeping the residents occupied. The care workers also do a great job of looking after the residents. Mum is very comfortable here.

My brother has been in The Limes for a few months, but my experience is the staff are amazing, very caring, nothing is too much trouble. He has settled in wonderfully but only through the constant care from the staff and management. The rooms are very well kept and clean and the toe ladies who do the activities are wonderful. They do some wonderful things. All in all, very happy with this home.

Since my mom became a resident she thrived. The staff are absolutely amazing. Nothing is too much trouble. They have welcomed my mom so well in the short time she has been here. Anything medical is swiftly dealt with. The food and refreshment are lovely. Mom has put lots of weight on since being here which is something we struggled with. Overall cannot recommend The Laurels and Limes highly enough. Mom loves it here.
