The Laurels and The Limes Care Home

I would highly recommend this care home to anyone!

My mother was in The Limes for only a short time before she died, peacefully. During this time she was treated with respect and dignity. She was safe, comfortable and cared for.

The manager, was very unprofessional. My brother was very unwell with advanced cancer. She promised the world, nice room etc. When he started to get really unwell she said he had to move elsewhere as they couldn’t cope! This was awful for all of us. My brother passed away a weeks afterwards in another care home! Thanks!

Facilities are well maintained. A new manager has just taken over and arranged for the repainting of many of the public rooms. The staff are all extremely friendly and caring.

My uncle was only in the home for one and a half weeks, he was end of life care he was 101, however, he settled immediately and was surrounded by loving care.

It is never easy when a close family member needs to move to a care home. Any initial concerns about such a move have long since gone. My sister, who has dementia, settled in really well thanks to the efforts of the care staff. For the first time in a long time, I am able to sleep at night knowing that she is so well cared for. I extend high praise for the staff at The Laurels. The home is professionally run and the staff are wonderful. Always friendly, warm, and supportive of me at such a difficult time. Thank you.

Found the care home to be warm and welcoming on arrival with a nice reception/lounge area just as you enter the main doors. Found the staff to be very caring towards my husband and other residents. My husband seems very content in his surroundings and I think this was due to a warm welcome. All the wonderful staff I came across managed very well considering they were thin on the ground at times. Well done and thank you to all the staff at The Laurels and The Limes Care Home.

The small cafe is a lovely touch.

I think the home is very welcoming. The residents are treated in a friendly and caring manner. All our family are treated well when we visit. We are lept up to date on how my mother is and if she has had to have any medication from the doctor.

My Mother is very happy at The Laurels. She is well looked after and enjoys the company of the carers who give time to the residents in a very humanitarian way. Myself and my family have every confidence in The Laurels. The new manager is excellent and has an open door policy which is very much appreciated by people like myself.

Given the opportunity, I will be back.

The home provides a high standard of care and is a welcoming and friendly place for both residents and visitors. The home is very well managed and has a capable and caring staff.

My mum is very happy here, they make you very welcome. My mum loves the exercise class and there is always plenty of entertainment and she loves having her nails and hair done.

The general words I would use are; supportive, caring, knowledgeable, positive. They try to treat all residents individuals. They are appreciative of the emotions and needs to both residents and relative alike. The home and rooms are clean environmentally. Nursing staff very attentive.

My mother has been resident at The Laurels and The Limes for eight months. She is well cared for and is happy with the work.

My husband has been in The Laurels since Aug 2017. Since then I have had peace of mind and feel he is safe and cared for. It's a dreadful decision to put someone in a home but my husband is now settled and appears content.

My Dad who is 91 yrs old has been a resident of The Laurels for the past 9 months. I really like the place, it has a family atmosphere about it. He struggled to settle at first but now seems really happy there, enjoys the activities (needs persuasion to take part at times) and all the staff are really good with him.

We chose The Limes based on the recommendation of a dear family friend who chose it for herself, out of all of the homes in Sheffield, towards the end of her life; we have not been disappointed. Very kind and friendly staff. Very patient with dad's outbursts as he adjusted to being in care. Despite losing his independence, he is now really enjoying being at The Limes, which is a big help to the rest of the family. In particular his other medical care; physiotherapy, speech therapy, etc. is being properly managed and Dad feels that he is being cared about; that someone is looking out for him. The Limes have respected Dad's independence and treated him with dignity and respect which, I feel, has contributed greatly to his successful transition to being in care. Highly recommended.

Excellent care - superb staff.

Our family is very happy with The Laurels and The Limes Care Home. The staff are great with all the residents, some of whom are very challenging. They make great efforts with them in regards to entertainment and general care. The home is warm and there is a lovely atmosphere.
