The moment I visited Seven Hills Nursing Home I liked it I thought how homely and less clinical it appeared and after 4 years I have no reason to change my mind. The staff are kind and caring the management are strict but approachable.

I have found the staff at Seven Hills Nursing Home to be very friendly and helpful. My mother's stay at this home has been very well handled and she appears to be settled and happy. The home is clean and tidy and well organised and run by the staff, who deal with the residents in a kind and professional
manner. On one visit we saw a member of staff deal with a challenging situation concerning a patient who became distressed at not being able to leave, and which was handled extremely well. Dementia care is very challenging and I feel that the staff at Seven Hills undertake the work to a good standard and do a good job of helping relatives through the process.

My friend lived here for 10 months and I was extremely happy with the care he received. I was always confident that he was well looked after and if I could not see him for a few days or if I was away I knew he would be totally safe.
The staff are excellent and the home is always well staffed and professional.
I feel comfortable and I can see that residents are well respected. There is a family feel to the place as it is small and personal.
When my friend came to the end of his life he was treated with dignity and respect and I witnessed a lot of care and love for him from the staff. The staff were very kind to myself too and I still like to visit and help whenever I can.
If I knew anyone who needed this type of care home I would not hesitate to recommend Seven Hills.

My father has been a resident at Seven Hills for over a year now. I am delighted with the care that he now receives. I feel that they genuinely care about the residents and their welfare. I have observed over time how they deal with difficult and challenging behaviour, they do so professionally. I have
watched the tenderness and the manner in which they address clients, the kindness they show during activities, feeding etc showing genuine care. This sadly was not always my experience in previous homes. The staff work hard in an often challenging and difficult role. The activity coordinator approaches her work with great enthusiasm, many of the residents struggle to take part in activities but there is often one to one support, given on these occasions if they are unable to participate in a group. The food is a good standard and will often be tailored to the individual's tastes. Drinks are provided frequently and regular checks are kept on the resident's health.

The care home has been through good and bad periods in the 6 years my mother has been here. This was largely due to a change in staff/manager. At the moment very well run with effective staff. The rooms however need to be renovated with new beds needed.

Seven Hills nursing home always makes me feel very welcome and I am kept very well informed regarding my husbands well being. Any issues are fully discussed. There are always carers in attendance and it is noticeable that each resident has their own 'special# time with a carer, either by touch or conversation.
The atmosphere is always good and relaxed.

My social worker recommended this care home. As there are only 24 rooms I feel it's more homely and attention is given to each resident which gives you a certain peace of mind.

Excellent in all areas. I have been visiting this lady all the time she has lived here. The welcome when she moved in was brilliant. I have seen the standards rise over the last six months due to the change in management which has been an excellent choice. I feel that I could not get better care from
anywhere else.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.752)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.752) out of 10 for Seven Hills Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 18 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.802 for Seven Hills Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (170 Excellents x 5) + (33 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 207 Ratings = 4.802
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.95 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Seven Hills Nursing Home is based on 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.95
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 28 registered maximum number of service users is 5.6, which has been reached with 18 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
