I have been in here twice and find it very good.
Due to COVID-19 activities have been hit and miss, however, this is understandable but when activities are up and running they are enjoyable. The food is of a good standard and home cooking. The staff are excellent and friendly with a homely environment. Laundry isn’t always perfect I have lost a few garments.
After some teething problems, mainly caused by faulty information about the home from NHS transfer staff, and a lack of communication on the actual transfer, my father was very well cared for. I think he could have achieved more from the therapy on offer had he been more co-operative. He had been very ill in hospital and was still feeling tired. The care offered by the staff at the home was particularly good, I thought. I felt that he was safe there.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff.
5x plus all the way.
All of the staff have been very helpful.
I am pleased you are happy with our service. Your feedback is much appreciated.
My nan has been really settled since she has been here and we, as a family, have been very happy with the care she has received. She is up and walking using her frame, thanks to the staff who work here, which we are so wonderfully grateful for.
Since coming into this care home my father-in-law has been looked after very well. His care has been above and beyond they have given him the care he needed.
I come to visit my aunt and it always seems clean, friendly and helpful.
My 89-year-old mother went into Westbourne House for extra physiotherapy after a short spell in the Hospital. We cannot thank the staff enough for their kindness, support and their willingness to go the extra mile at all times. My mother will shortly be returning home after 3 weeks in their care and the physiotherapists have arranged for all equipment for her continued recuperation to be delivered to our home (my mother lives with me and my husband). Once again, many many thanks to all the wonderful staff at the care home and long may they continue to operate such a caring facility.
Whilst his mobility was limited, the staff were always prepared to go the extra mile, for example providing a lovely space and special environment for us to celebrate a special birthday with him.
My family are scattered both in the UK and abroad, but the staff were always happy to answer our calls and to keep us well informed.
The in house physician was excellent in managing the transition from home to hospital and then for long term care and to asses and continually update Dad' s clinical needs.
We can't thank you enough for your care and will always be grateful for making Dad's final days so comfortable.
My family would like to pass on our heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Westbourne House for the wonderful care that they showed not only to my mum but to all our family during the last days of my mum's life. We could not have wished for better care and thank you all for making her last days so comfortable. Kind Regards.
She was there for approximately 8 weeks. The care she received from all the staff was friendly and caring and as a relative you felt there was a good relationship between my mother and all the staff she interacted with. I also felt that it was a friendly place where all the staff made eye contact with you when visiting saying hello and usually smiling too. This is a big factor and tell tale sign that the staff are happy and the home is well managed. There was one issue that my mother raised with the nursing manager and it was dealt with quickly and the Home manager took the time to speak to us and explain the cause and the remedial action she took. This is a large home and they do well to keep the quality of service cheerful and caring across all shifts 24/7 . Thank you to all the staff.
Westbourne House has an excellent care management team who are committed to providing the highest standards of care. They inspire a stable team of staff who care for residents with patience and good humour. My mum was cared for here for over 3 years and it was the only option we would consider when we were told my dad needed 24 hour nursing care after having been in hospital for 6 months. The staff are proactive and keep relatives informed at all times. When I leave after a visit I am confident that my dad is in good hands. As one member of staff said 'We may not have all the bells and whistles (decoratively) but I like to think we look after everyone well'. This is so true. Sincere thanks to all the staff.
The staff are very caring and handle difficult residents very well and I think my cousin is in good hands.
