I feel my Mum has settled in very well. Her room is lovely and she can have her home comforts. The staff are lovely and welcoming an treat my Mum very well.
My only issue would be getting in and out during hours when reception is not covered, you can be waiting quite a while. I understand staff are
busy, are there any options for getting a code to enter?

Mum has been here since february. Since moving to the ground floor, she seems to be a lot happier. Unfortunately, she will not venture out of her room unless I am taking her out, therefore cannot really comment on the activities. The only slight negative comment I have is trying to access the premises
at night. I have sometimes been stood there a very long time, trying to get in and my daughter once left having failed to get in at all. Other than this, we are very happy with the care provided for Mum.

My mum came into Laurel Bank Care Home, for end of life care, following a period in hospital, from a previous care home.
From the moment she entered Laurel Bank on her 89th birthday when they put banners up and made a cake for her arrival, she received excellent service from caring and nursing staff.
As her daughter I was told to think of the home as my extended home as well.
My mum’s time at Laurel Bank was very short, she only lived for a week after her birthday but in that time she was treated with dignity, respect and care. With her passing staff treated me the same with care and love. The ethos of care shines through. I can only thank you all from the bottom of my heart, and only wish my mum had come to live at Laurel Bank sooner and also for longer. Many thanks, keep doing what you are doing as it is something really special in care.

Your care and consideration for my husband are exceptional. My daughter and others have found them extremely welcoming. I cannot find fault to the hardworking staff there. The meals are wonderful.

This review is for the Halloween party.
A welcoming and joyful afternoon. The staff worked hard to ensure all residents were involved and looked after. The singer was great with a wide variety of songs. She mingled with the residents and encouraged interaction. Food was plentiful with a variety of
refreshments on offer. Well done for a fun afternoon.
My only concern was that if l hadn't turned up, my mother wouldn't have attended. I was told she said she didn't want to go but my mother isn't capable of making decisions and she was totally compliant about going when l arrived. It would have been a shame if she had missed out, especially as she enjoyed it in her own way.

We had to find a home that could care for mum who unfortunately suffers from dementia, had a stroke and a bleed to the brain. She is unable to move anything except her head and left arm. She is hoisted and requires two carers to meet her basic needs. The staff and management team are brilliant, they
are caring and nothing is too much trouble for them. The home is modern and clean, her bedroom is en-suite. The food is varied and nourishing and they monitor her eating as she does need help and has to be fed due to her complete lack of mobility. There are various activities in the home and a full-time activities coordinator who ensures everyone participates and are therefore stimulated - he is brilliant
As a family, it was a very difficult decision for us to make but all her needs are met with dignity, compassion and caring. As a family, they are supportive of us and we can visit as often as we like and are made very welcome - all the staff team know us by name - I would highly recommend it.

We had to find a nursing home for our mum who had suffered a stroke and had been in hospital for over two months before being discharged. Owing to her condition we had to source others to care for her and it was a big decision to make on her behalf. We were impressed not only with the Management of
the Home under the Manager and Deputy Manager but with every member of staff across the day and night shifts who provided excellent care to mum.
We would highly recommend this nursing care home which became like an extended family and were compassionate and caring to not only our mum but also our family who visited mum regularly.

At what was a very difficult time for our family, we had to find a care home for our mum who had dementia. It was time for us to allow others to care for her and this was such a big decision to make. We would highly recommend this care home who then became like extended family and were so compassionate
and caring to not only our mum but also our dad who visited every day. We will never forget how well you looked after our mum and very quickly what seemed like a daunting place for her to go, she settled in and loved her new home and her new caring family. There was never a day when she never looked her best and the staff took the time to find out what her loves and passions were and embraced them with her until her very last days. The residents all interact with one another and the activities are so well thought out. They even have a hairdresser who will come in, and my mum loved a pamper. Thank you for making her care plan and her end of life care so personal.

My mother was able to pass away peacefully and with dignity, thanks to the caring and professional staff at Laurel Bank.
She was a resident during the most vulnerable period of her life.
At all times the family felt valued, informed, and supported.
The care given was second to none.

My wife was admitted directly from hospital and had a dose of covid on her birthday. A birthday party had been arranged and she was delighted unfortunately she declined due to Alzheimer's and Covid, but she was a resident for two months. She was treated like a member of the family and greeted all day
long with chatter and felt like she was at home, and the room decoration was great.

My sister is quite young to be living in a care home, it was always a worry that she would just be sat in a chair all day with no stimulation, but there are lots of activities and trips out, which my sister enjoys. Since new management was brought in, they have made a point in finding out more about
my sister and her interests and what she might like to do and are looking at extending her activities, which is very positive as my sister could potentially be at Laurel Bank for many years. Her room is comfortable, and the staff which I have met are lovely, and any concerns that I have had, have been dealt with promptly and professionally. Overall, my sister seems happy at Laurel Bank, so in turn, that makes me happy.

My mum came to stay at Laurel Bank in May. I have found the home to have a homely feeling about it. The staff are always helpful and friendly and are always caring towards my mum. Mum has seemed to have settled in very well and she always looks clean and tidy. When I visit she will always say she is
happy and the staff are looking after her when I've asked. My mum enjoys the company and the activities. A happy Mum.

Laurel Bank has been my home now for the last three years.
Nice, friendly staff welcomed us. So pleased I stayed with the coronavirus around, I had company.
The new management arrived. They are very approachable and understanding. Also came many changes of improvements with more to come.

Early this year Laurel Bank changed ownership and a new management team was put in place.
The changes and improvements made in just 4 months have been remarkable and I know that there are more to follow.
The management has a vision and determination to progress further which is inspiring and encouraging
for someone whose mother is a resident in Laurel Bank.
The carers are a team of people who show kindness and care in all that they do.
I would recommend Laurel Bank to anyone looking for care home accommodation for their loved one.

Dad came to Laurel Bank during lockdown very suddenly and we were unable to visit him for over 3 months so I was very concerned during this time. However, I was delighted to see him looking so well last week. The staff have obviously been caring for him all this time and have been answering my anxious
phone calls in a friendly and professional manner. I look forward to getting to know them all in the future and supporting them in their work. I can already notice that his quality of life is much improved. Heartfelt thanks to you all. As I have not been physically in the building due to COVID restrictions I cannot comment on the facilities accurately as yet.

My mother has been having respite care in Laurel Bank for a few years now and I am very pleased with the home. Indeed, I think it is getting better and better. She always comments on the kindness of the staff and how pleasant they are with her. She always enjoys it when a member of staff takes time
to chat with her and I think being prepared to give that time is very important. She enjoys the activities she joins in with and I always feel she is in safe hands. Thank you to all.

Kevin is our admin at Laurel Bank. He is a soft heart man. Kevin worked with us since 2022. He started as an activity coordinator and then began to show interest in our admin role. Kevin is a resilient and willing-to-learn person. He has a good sense of humour which makes him excellent as the first face you meet in our home.
