The lady in care has totally changed for the better since being in Ashbourne. She has a new outlook on life and smiles a lot. She has friends, eats well and socialises more. This time last year, she only wanted to go to bed and not wake up. Thanks to Ashbourne, she is happy and cares about life. Thank
you to the staff and friends.

My husband was accepted to have respite for 3 weeks after the manager had visited us at home. After 3 weeks, we decided as a family that we were more than happy for him to stay at the home permanently. This was the hardest decision I have ever had to make. He settled in much better than expected. There
were obviously difficulties to begin with, but it was clear that my husband was happy and has a good relationship with all the staff. Everyone is very helpful, kind and patient when dealing with any situation they have to face. The entertainment activities are also extremely good. We are always kept informed by the staff at each visit. Thank you.
Reply from Alison Foreman, Commercial Director at Whittington Care HomeMany thanks for sharing your experience of how you came to settle your husband in Whittington. Dad was taken in unexpectedly in November, and from the first meeting, everyone has been so kind, caring and reassuring. It's comforting knowing that dad is safe and well cared for. We visit regularly and are always greeted with smiles from the lovely staff who take time to chat to us and keep us informed.
Its nice to see that dad has a good relationship with his carers who are very respectful to him, shaking hands and high fiving and always interacting with him, providing him with reassurance when needed.
Reply from Alison Foreman, Commercial Director at Whittington Care HomeMany thanks for your review and the many kind comments and compliments for the team at the home who are concerned for the happiness and health of all residents, so we appreciate your recognition of their efforts. Having spoken to the home manager in regard to your ratings, she has explained that every effort is being made to keep the home clean and tidy during both flooring replacement and some remedial plastering work. However please be reassured that the housekeeping team make every effort to keep on top of this.
Like the whole of the UK, we have our fingers crossed for better weather, as we know that some residents enjoy being active and walking outside. In the meantime, should there be any hobbies or special interests which you feel would enhance the daily life of your Dad, please tell the team. We strive to ensure that every aspect of the care experience is person-centred. Kind regards

There is also a wide range of activities and the staff ensure that everyone who wants to can take part. It's very

As a visiting professional, I was always impressed with the care given to residents and how clean and spacious Ashbourne care home is. When it came to my mum having to go into care and always a very difficult decision, I was relieved a place was available at Ashbourne. The staff and management are
excellent and care given to my mum is of a very high standard, mum always looks clean and well cared for. Food is freshly cooked and prepared on site, allowing residents to have choices of nutritious food and snacks. Her room is homely and clean. Staff are very welcoming and any concerns about mum are passed onto me and acted on very quickly, staff communicate very quickly with outside agencies ie GP,district nurses. I have been very impressed with the care given and would recommend to anyone seeking care for their families or loved ones to visit here.
Reply from Davey Taverner, Marketing Manager at Ashbourne Care HomeThank you for taking the time to review Ashbourne so highly. The Lodge - my family and friends brought back from physically/mentally ill - to not far off fully better. Great to talk with Helen/manager. Plus she sorted me out everything - busses, trams, lifts, room bookings etc. Booking for shows - she and her staff easy to talk to laid back - no stress which
has brought me on considerably. They taught me discipline/determination etc - each day, showering, teeth clean, excersise fresh air. A good routine. Staff not afraid to tell me to do these things which I don't mind at all. Helen especially treats me so well, like a brother/or a son, which has really helped with my convalescing and improvement - without a doubt. Plus not just me treats all her patient the same - superb genuine empathy. Yes! I'm going from strength to strength now and am ready to fend for myself again which at one time I never thought would happen. Thanks to Helen and her staff.

I was impressed from the first time I walked through the door. The staff are friendly, kind and approachable. The residents are well cared for, respected and treated with dignity. She was always wearing clean clothes. I usually visit 3 - 4 hours at a time, and the residents are given drinks regularly
by the staff. The lady I was visiting has at least 4 drinks, and more when she wants.
