My dad lived at Ashbourne for some time, and sadly, our experience was disappointing. We often had to chase up basic care, and ongoing medical issues weren't handled as we expected.
He was frequently moved around the sitting room, which deeply unsettled him, especially as he was blind and living with dementia. Familiarity and routine were essential for his wellbeing, but weren't prioritised at all.
His room was sometimes left uncleaned for long periods, and hygiene standards fell short of what we felt was acceptable. Although some staff were kind, and Dad really liked the guy who did activities, overall care felt inconsistent.
We eventually moved Dad to another home where he now receives more stable, personalised care. He's much happier, healthier, and better supported.
We hope this review is taken as constructive feedback and leads to positive changes for those still living at the home.
