My mother lived in this home for 9 months following a cancer diagnosis. She was looked after with love and kindness by everybody. When the end came the staff were extremely good with my wife and me. We can't thank them enough for making sure my mother was treated with dignity and kindness during her last difficult months. We would have no hesitation in recommending this home to anybody.

On paper, the Aden Court "requires improvement" and that is probably because the pen pushers behind the clipboards have - fortunately for them - never found themselves in a position where they need to rely on the nursing care profession to look after a loved one. As a family, we found the Aden Court to be a nursing care home from home which made the process and decision making easier for us to deal with. The carers are absolute handpicked diamonds. The nursing team are caring and compassionate. The chefs and kitchen team care about what the residents want to eat and create amazing tasty food - and lots of empty plates. The cleaning and laundry team are lovely people and are just like the neighbours you'd be lucky to have. The manager is like a mother hen who wants the best for everyone who walks over her threshold - residents and their families alike - and is relentless in achieving this. It's always difficult for a family to hand over the care of a loved one because there is an intense feeling of failure and defeat - but sometimes when other agencies let you down - its the best, safest, kindest thing to do. The Aden Court isn't perfect, but very few things in life are. Would I recommend the Aden Court to a family who wants their loved one to be looked after in a safe, comfortable, caring, clean nursing home and with respect and dignity - yes most definitely I would.

My husband spent his last few weeks of life being cared for by the amazing staff at Aden Court. I would like to go back and visit them all again because of the superb job they did with him and the excellent care they took of me, but as yet I haven't been able to stop crying long enough. I think of every one of them as my friend.

Having to part with a loved one because of illness is a dreadful thing, and more and more of us seem to be having to do it nowadays, so to know that the place they are in is trustworthy and good is a great relief. I think Aden Court is just such a place.

Thank you to the manager, and all your lovely staff.

My mother, father and auntie have all been residents at Aden Court (between 2003 and 2017) and I have been more than happy with the care they received. My mother had complex medical needs and she was attended with care, friendliness and dignity. If issues arose (very rarely) the management was always willing to listen, reassure and, where necessary, take action. Some of the staff in 2017 were there in 2003, which speaks volumes for the atmosphere in Aden Court. Over the years the staff have become friends - not just care home staff. can't thank Aden Court enough for all the care and support they have given to the whole family.

Staffing has occasionally been an issue ( as in all care homes!) but not once have they let this affect the level of care they have provided. Thank you, Aden Court for everything.

During the 19months my mother was in Aden Court she was treated with dignity and respect. The facilities in the home are very good, a choice of 3 lounges one of which is quieter which is where my mother preferred to be. The entrance area is welcoming, the dining room is bright and airy with well laid out tables. The bedrooms are en-suite and give residents privacy. Food is varied and there is something for everyone's tastes. There is entertainment on a fairly regular basis which gets people together and everyone seemed to enjoy it. Two nursing staff were very understanding of my mother's complex medical condition.

This is a lovely, welcoming home and my Grandma is always dressed well and happy. The staff are so busy but they are there in a second. I have spoken to the manager a couple of times and she is always friendly and approachable and my Grandma always speaks highly of her. I would suggest to any of my friends that they look here if a relative needs 24-hour care. Great staff, great people.

Our relatives, (two elderly sisters) have recently joined Aden Court and our initial experience has been very positive. The home is always warm and friendly. The Manager could not have made us more welcome and all members of the care home staff have a positive and cheerful demeanour. It seems that they cannot do enough to make the place a pleasant place to live and socialise. Our relatives have quickly settled in and seem to be enjoying being there. Their happiness goes a long way to making us happy too.

Lisa Boyd
Lisa BoydJob Title:Home managerJoined: 2009

I have worked in the health and social care sector for 30 years. I started my career in the care sector as a care assistant, progressed to senior, care manager then home manager in 2009. I did get promoted to regional manager for over 3 years and although I enjoyed the role, and learnt a lot, my passion was being a home manager.

Working alongside supporting and developing my team whilst prompting good quality care for our residents is what drives me, along with having good solid relationships with other professionals.

My greatest achievement is getting a diploma in my manager's qualification.

We are very passionate about End-of-Life care for both families and their loved ones, we work very closely with the hospice palliative team.

We have strong values at Aden Court – Compassion, Aspiration, Respect & Empowerment.
