This review relates to the period between 6th to 11th March 2024. My mother-in-law was admitted for 1 week but ended up being in for 5 weeks of palliative care. All the staff were friendly, compassionate and professional at all times. Nothing was too much trouble and they gave 100% care. All staff were
approachable and confidential and gave the utmost best of care at all times. They cared for my mother-in-law with professionalism from the start to her sad passing. I thank you for the excellent care that was given at all times.

The care this care home has provided is amazing, even though they have so many residents, they take their time with each and every one, they treat people with love and care and make the whole family very welcoming. Every member of staff was very kind nd went above and beyond to help make our lives easier
and comfortable. I am so glad my mother-in-law spent her last months here with the best care possible. Thank you.

Although my husband was only in for a short time, the care and attention he got was superb. Nothing was too much trouble and he was checked on constantly. My overall feeling was that he could not have been staying in anywhere better.

Whilst my mum was only at Aden Court for a short period of time (towards end of life), we found the staff exceptionally professional and thoroughly helpful. We felt confident that the staff on duty always tended to mum's care in a very thoughtful manner. Nothing seemed too much trouble for both mum
and anyone who visited. The manager was so warm and welcoming, spending time with us during an initial visit and taking time to get to know us as a family. Staff regularly asked about our family background as well as mum's likes and interests should an opportunity arise to interact with her. Overall, we found Aden Court to be an excellent experience (despite the circumstances of why mum was there) and was treated with respect and dignity. As a family, we can't praise the manager and staff enough. I would highly recommend this care home.

It was the manager's warm voice over the telephone and her personality on viewing the home which helped us decide to use Aden Court Care Home. My stepmother was well cared for. It was clearly visible that the entire team at Aden Court was genuine in the care they gave. It was exceptional. The home is
clean and inviting. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home.

From first entering the home, I felt it was a home. The reception was very warm and I received all the relevant details to enable me to make the decision for my cousin to come and live here. We have not been disappointed and after only ten days has settled in very well and likes all the staff. Her room
is now decorated with all her favourite things.

My father arrived with Mum around the end of July 2023. He felt loved and regarded. From day one I was happy with the way the staff looked after my dad. He was always clean with fresh clothes. The staff always updated me and always had time to explain what was happening. The room was basic but adequate.
When my dad could go into the communal area he was taken and made comfortable with his own special chair. I have no criticism of his end of life care.

Although my mum was a resident for only a short time for end-of-life care, so unable to comment on activities.
The care she received was of a high standard with very attentive staff who were accessible when required.
The management were also very professional and caring. All around I felt the service
provided was first class and would recommend.

I had to find my mother a nursing home at short notice as she was diagnosed with terminal cancer, thank goodness I tried the lady in charge at Aden Court. She was lovely, kind and welcoming and had a place for Mum. She and all staff in the home do their utmost to give the best care to all residents,
can't thank them enough.

My partner went into this home on the 5th of July. The staff were extremely welcoming. They are all so kind to him, me and my family too; they always seem to 2go that extra mile".
He's had an outing to a garden centre, which he thoroughly enjoyed and can't stop talking about it. It is definitely a
first-class nursing home!

Cannot fault Aden Court. Care with a capital c is at the centre of everything they do. A wonderful team where every member of staff goes above and beyond their duties to make sure that not just the resident is cared for with compassion and dignity but so are every family member and friend. Nothing is
too much trouble. Outstanding doesn't seem to do justice for what they all do, day in and day out. We would wholeheartedly recommend Aden Court to everyone, particularly for end-of-life. Thank you.

My mother has been a resident at Aden Court now for approximately eighteen months. She soon settled into her new surroundings no doubt helped by the care and compassion shown by all the staff there.
Mum has nothing but good things to say about her room and all the care and nursing staff who attend
to her needs, this is evident on the occasions when we are visiting with the carers and nurses checking regularly on Mum, they treat Mum as if she is one of their own family which is very reassuring when we are not there.
During mum's deteriorating health the caring and professional way that the staff communicated with the family cannot be faulted.

My 92-year-old father came to Aden Court from hospital for palliative end-of-life care. The nursing and general care he received was excellent. He was bedridden so could not partake in activities or facilities provided. The room was quite faded and the furniture shabby which was our only criticism.

The staff are all nice and helpful but are constantly so busy. I just wish they had a bit more time to spend with my mum who is in bed all the time. Sometimes when I get there she looks dishevelled, not had her hair combed, her teeth are next to the bed, not been sterilised overnight and her hearing
aid is also not in, which may sometimes be down to my mum I know. Occasionally the window has been left open blowing cold and one day she only had a sheet on, not a blanket. On that same day, her buzzer wire was on the floor so she couldn't reach it. Sometimes the cleanliness of the toilet in the bathroom isn't as good as it could be. Finally, just wish the staff had time to sit with her to help her with her meals as her sight is quite poor. They all try their best I know but are always so busy, maybe more staff are required.

The manager and all the staff were amazing when my auntie moved in. My aunt was on end-of-life and died just before Christmas. The staff were so kind and helpful and treated my family with care and respect. I'd definitely recommend this home. The manager was great, and made my aunt's move into Aden

Lisa Boyd

Job Title: Home manager Joined: 2009

I have worked in the health and social care sector for 30 years. I started my career in the care sector as a care assistant, progressed to senior, care manager then home manager in 2009. I did get promoted to regional manager for over 3 years and although I enjoyed the role, and learnt a lot, my passion was being a home manager.


Working alongside supporting and developing my team whilst prompting good quality care for our residents is what drives me, along with having good solid relationships with other professionals.


My greatest achievement is getting a diploma in my manager's qualification.


We are very passionate about End-of-Life care for both families and their loved ones, we work very closely with the hospice palliative team.


We have strong values at Aden Court – Compassion, Aspiration, Respect & Empowerment.
