My 92-year-old father came to Aden Court from hospital for palliative end-of-life care. The nursing and general care he received was excellent. He was bedridden so could not partake in activities or facilities provided. The room was quite faded and the furniture shabby which was our only criticism.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for this review and the positive feedback regarding the care provided to your Father whilst he was here with us at Aden Court. I sincerely apologise that you feel the room in which your Father lived in the time that he as with us was not up to...
As a family, we are happy with the care Mum receives at Aden Court.
Thank you for this kind review, we are so very glad you are happy with the care we provide here at Aden Court.
This home is the best place we could have chosen for our mother, and I am confident and grateful that the staff treat her with such care and attention, also humour.
Thank you so much for your kind words, it is our honour to care for your loved one, and it is great to hear you are happy with their care. I will ensure to pass your comments on to the staff team.
The staff are all nice and helpful but are constantly so busy. I just wish they had a bit more time to spend with my mum who is in bed all the time. Sometimes when I get there she looks dishevelled, not had her hair combed, her teeth are next to the bed, not been sterilised overnight and her hearing aid is also not in, which may sometimes be down to my mum I know. Occasionally the window has been left open blowing cold and one day she only had a sheet on, not a blanket. On that same day, her buzzer wire was on the floor so she couldn't reach it. Sometimes the cleanliness of the toilet in the bathroom isn't as good as it could be. Finally, just wish the staff had time to sit with her to help her with her meals as her sight is quite poor. They all try their best I know but are always so busy, maybe more staff are required.
Aden Court staff will constantly encourage...
The manager and all the staff were amazing when my auntie moved in. My aunt was on end-of-life and died just before Christmas. The staff were so kind and helpful and treated my family with care and respect. I'd definitely recommend this home. The manager was great, and made my aunt's move into Aden Court, easy. She is a great care home manager.
My mum has improved greatly while being at Aden Court however her mental health is not great. I think that now the visitors are allowed back in this could help. I understand that the booking in of visits is necessary however why it has to be done days before is not necessary and can be inconvenient due to work commitments. Hopefully, now restrictions are easier more activities and entertainment can hopefully happen. If more activities were available she may take part. All the staff are excellent and caring and do their best but are overstretched. The rooms are clean, the food is of a good standard.
Thank you for this review, we wholly appreciate how challenging this time has been with the restrictions on visiting as a result of COVID, and that as restrictions are easing we look forward to when we can introduce a more open visiting process whilst maintaining the safety of our residents in line...
My Mum moved into Aden Court in June 2021; she settled quickly and we noticed a great improvement in her; she was no longer anxious and we could see that she felt safe and comfortable. The staff are lovely, dedicated, caring and my Mum is always complimentary about the care she receives. When we visit, the staff have always been welcoming and pleased to keep us informed of any updates.
Thank you so much for this review, it is wonderful to hear how happy you are with the care we provide for your loved one.
The home has remained safe for mother all through the pandemic which I am thankful for. My mother is very well looked after by the home, she is 103 years old, in good health and is eating very well. Overall she looks and is very well.
Thank you for your review, it means a great deal to all of the staff to hear that you are happy with the care that we have provided and continue to provide your loved one throughout the pandemic and beyond.
Mum is happy, well cared for, eats well, enjoys activities and socialising. Speaks highly of the care she receives. All staff do an amazing job. Staff friendly and caring. Mum's quality of life has never been better.
Thank you for your review. We're so pleased to hear that you are happy with our staff and that you and your loved one speaks so highly of the care she receives.
I was very unhappy about the state of my father's room; though clean, furniture falling apart, very dark and couldn't even sell it in a charity shop. I couldn't fault the Entertainment Manager she is amazing and I can tell my father trusts and likes her. But I feel so sad that after all his life my Dad has worked very hard to give his family a lovely home and ends up in this very below standard room.
The staff at Aden Court strive to provide the best care possible for residents...
I have nothing but praise for all the staff. My mum was very happy here and all the staff from cleaners to office staff was top marks. I can't praise them enough. They have also been very good to me and my family all I can say is a very big thank you to all.
I know if I have any issues they'll be taken care of by the management team. I can rest knowing my mum is being given the care that she needs with compassion and care.
The meals are always hot when they had been brought up to the rooms as well as the drinks. Plenty of good food.
The management get on top of things quickly.
The nursing side is very good.
The rooms can do with painting. The old furniture in the rooms do not do the rooms justice.
Thank you so much for your review, we do have a programme for refurbishing all our rooms, with new furniture and floorings.
Since my father arrived in early June, the staff have taken their time in understanding my dad and his care needs. He feels extremely comfortable which is good as he was very unsure of leaving his home that he has lived in for 50 yrs. The staff are considerate of his needs both medically and as a human being, they help him keep his dignity.
Whilst my father was with you his needs and care were excellently taken care of. Would have no hesitation in recommending your establishment. Thank you for everything for the time he was in your care.
Having visited my mum, when I have gone in the staff have addressed me by name. A very happy home. Clean, good diet. No issues. All staff are great.
When I arrive, staff can always tell me exactly where I will find my friend.
Like all people of my age, I would hate to have to go into a "home" but if essential, this would be a preferred choice of residence before any other that I have visited.
My mother in law's transition from hospital was handled well and she was settled in and cared for with the utmost professionalism.
More than that, the carers provided a real feeling of belonging.
My mother in law sadly passed away at Aden Court but the dignity and care that was shown to her and us as a family during this difficult time will never be forgotten.
Thank you to all Aden Court staff.
I feel comfortable approaching any member of staff if I am in need of advice or support regarding mum's care.
When we moved our mother into Aden Court, the staff made her and us feel welcome and comfortable straight away. The staff (all areas) do a great job and provide a great service we feel our mum is looked after very well and with dignity. The manager and nurses are very approachable, they listen to any concerns we may have and act on them without hesitation. We only have praise for Aden Court. Thank you.

Meet the Team (1)

I have worked in the health and social care sector for 30 years. I started my career in the care sector as a care assistant, progressed to senior, care manager then home manager in 2009. I did get promoted to regional manager for over 3 years and although I enjoyed the role, and learnt a lot, my passion was being a home manager.
Working alongside supporting and developing my team whilst prompting good quality care for our residents is what drives me, along with having good solid relationships with other professionals.
My greatest achievement is getting a diploma in my manager's qualification.
We are very passionate about End-of-Life care for both families and their loved ones, we work very closely with the hospice palliative team.
We have strong values at Aden Court – Compassion, Aspiration, Respect & Empowerment.
