My mum is a resident at Fieldhead Court and has been since 2017.
My mum sadly has communication issues but I know by the look on her face when those carers/ nurses walk in she is very well looked after. Her face lights up.
Fieldhead Court is a beautiful home and has beautiful surroundings for the
service users, my mum's needs are very complex and I have every bit of trust and faith in them that they are doing everything just right for her. She is well very well looked after, it’s difficult to pass on the responsibility to someone else when it’s got too much for you to care for them but I know they're doing just as well if not even better than I did. Thank you all for your continued kindness and compassion towards my mum.

My auntie was only in Fieldhead Court for a short period of time. In that time, she was treated with the utmost care and kindness by all the staff, whatever their position in the home. All the team seemed to have a considerate approach to their work. It's the little extra things they did that made a
difference.

My Mum had been a resident at Fieldhead Court for nearly 6 and a half years, throughout this time she was looked after extremely well by all staff involved in her care. She was shown a great deal of respect and compassion, along with sharing lots of laughs with the carers, particularly when singing
to them. Her care was second to none, the staff have done a fantastic job looking after her for all these years. We could not find fault with anything in the way she has been treated and looked after. My mum passed away recently and we were with her at the end, all those involved in her passing were amazing and very caring towards ourselves and mum. Thank for everything you’ve been amazing.

The team at Fieldhead Court would like to say a big thank you and it is always our pleasure and delight to care for all our residents as family, we have gone through a lot over the last 18 months and have protected everyone like our own. Your mum was a wonderful person who lightened our day with her singing and her stories of her life every day, she is sadly missed. She had been a long-standing resident very dear to our hearts. Many thanks for your lovely review of our service.

Mother has some complex medical issues that require monitoring and rapid medical intervention should they deteriorate. This was no more evident than a recent episode where the early intervention had mother back in the care home within a week, as opposed to multiple weeks staying in hospital when she
lived independently with care visits. The home dated but is compensated by its clean, tidy and pleasant staff. Mother has never been better in years after becoming a resident.

My sister is not easy to deal with; she has always held a position of authority and with the onset of dementia this made life difficult for those caring for her, as she was aggressive towards anyone who went against her wishes. She arrived at Fieldhead Court wheelchair-bound after fighting and breaking
her hip. She was 82 years old. After six months at Fieldhead she was walking, unaided. Fieldhead Court presents a friendly, caring environment. Covid-19 has made life difficult but the staff are wonderful. Residents’ photographs are shown regularly on Facebook and being unable to visit it is reassuring to see her looking happy, clean and well cared for. I cannot praise the staff enough. When further medical attention is needed I am kept well informed. She loves her dolls and cuddly toys and is seldom without one. Fieldhead Court is a mature building rather than a modern, purpose-built show house but the care is second to none and that is what is most important to me and my sister.

The staff are so caring and helpful with my mom, in her day to day care, and give her lots of things to do in these awful times which is much appreciated. The main thing is Mom is very happy and I can't thank you enough.

My husband was admitted during the national lockdown in April 2020. I have never been inside the care home but have viewed the photos and videos that the staff share on social media. I've also spoken with the staff about his care. He seems as well and happy as his condition allows. He has Alzheimer's
and I'm satisfied with the care he receives. The home looks clean, bright and pleasant, and residents look happy.

It was good to hear that my sister remains cheerful and happy especially as we've had no direct contact with her since the beginning of the pandemic.
The staff are always obliging and informative to any questions asked.
I hope you all stay healthy and safe and thank you from all of her family.

Two sublects that could be improved upon;
1, The quality and choice of meals
2, Shortage of staff at weekends (care assistants)
Lastly; lack of communication between caring staff.

My mum had a recent short stay at Fieldhead Court while waiting to go to rehab to strengthen her walking after a stay in hospital.
The staff here are all fabulous and make a real effort to make the residents feel safe and comfortable. There are activities most afternoons in the lounges and all residents
are encouraged to join in but never pressured.
The food always looked appetising and always a choice was offered, there is a consistent flow of hot and cold drinks offered throughout the day and not just at meal times.
All of the staff were approachable and greeted all visitors with a smile and were happy to help with any queries made, if they didn't know they would find out for you.
The fact that the majority of the staff have worked there for several years is a testimony to how well the place is run by the home management.
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Fieldhead Court for a short or long stay and if it was closer to home this would be my choice for Mum to stay for respite.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.309)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.309) out of 10 for Fieldhead Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.620 for Fieldhead Court is calculated as follows: ( (71 Excellents x 5) + (20 Goods x 4) + (9 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 100 Ratings = 4.62
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.689 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Fieldhead Court is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 45 registered maximum number of service users is 9. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 9 = 0.889
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
