My mother moved into this care home in late April/early May of this year. She stayed in her room choosing to take her meals in her room. She developed a sore throat/chest infection and although I visited her each day I had to work in Wales from Friday to Sunday. I spoke to her on Friday and I could
tell something was wrong she was not herself. I phoned the care home and spoke to the nurse who assured me she was alright. No one answered the phone on the Saturday or the Sunday and it seemed when there was no one in the office the phone went unanswered. I left several answerphone messages but none were returned. I then received a call from a member of staff to say my mother was very ill on the Sunday and that an ambulance had been called. I then received a phone call from the hospital telling me my mother was gravely ill with covid and asking me to go immediately to the hospital which I did. She died a week later.
Reply from Renata Nadarevic, Manager at Linson CourtWe were very sorry to hear of the death of your mother in hospital and please accept our condolences on your loss. In the brief time your mother was with us at Linson Court she received the best possible care and our staff were always attentive to her needs. We accept our high standards slipped on this occasion when it came to communication over the weekend period in question and we have taken steps to address this.

My mother-in-law came to Linson Court in April last year. When we initially viewed Linson Court we were impressed with the welcoming environment and how friendly the staff were. My mother-in-law quickly settled in and received care that I would describe as exemplary. The staff were visible and approachable
and knew her well, volunteering information as to how she was doing without being asked.
Sadly she reached the end of her life but was incredibly well looked after (as were we), with the registered nurses proactively involving the GP to ensure she was comfortable. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Linson Court is excellent in every way and is a credit to all the friendly staff who work efficiently as a team to address our mum's needs. After a three-month stay in hospital, she was welcomed into Linson Court and quickly settled into her room with amazing views over Batley. We have no hesitation
in recommending this care home due to the high level of care and attention that she receives in a clean, purpose-built, modern home.

After being informed of another close down in early January 2022 due to covid, and a number of staff away recovering, it was nice to be informed visiting was allowed again. The staff are always very helpful and informative in spending their time talking with my mum and making sure her needs with regard
to toiletries and clothing and appearance are met. I cannot praise them enough for the work they do.

A massive thank you to the team at Linson Court for making mum’s 90th birthday a very special occasion. Mum had a lovely day due to Linson Court organising a party and a fantastic cake. When mum asked for some wine it soon appeared!
It was a hard day for us not being able to visit mum inside on her
birthday because of covid but we managed a window visit. We are so grateful to the staff for their humour, patience, hard work, and great care. Thank you ….your efforts are much appreciated.

A fabulous care home with amazing staff who I trust completely with the care of Mum. Mum always looks well-cared for, clean and tidy and when I ask if she likes being there she says she's very happy. The staff are brilliant and answer questions I may have about Mum's condition.
Reply from Joy Handley, Home Manager at Linson CourtHi Karen, thanks ever so much for taking the time to write this review and for your kind words. My husband was moved to this care home in April 2019 and has settled there really well after a troubled year elsewhere.
The staff are kind, understanding and professional.
They take care to make sure he is clean and comfortable and if you notice a problem and go to the office they have always flagged
it up before you and are taking action to rectify.
I cannot praise them highly enough.

I can only say great things about the staff at this facility. My mother was in a terrible state in the previous care home and since her move to Linson Court, we have a little of our mum back. She now smiles and is more relaxed and we have the care and patience of the wonderful staff at this home to
thank for that. We all visit and are made to feel welcome and they do so much for Mum to make her feel part of the family and at home. She is treated like a person with an awful disease and not a problem, unlike the previous home. They love and cherish her and we all are grateful for the wonderful care that our mum receives.

It's almost 4 years that my mum has lived here. From the first day, all members of staff were very friendly, courteous, caring and have lots of patience, despite the fact, my mum doesn't speak English frequently.
Management takes care of my mum's food requirements.
The catering staff are extremely
helpful all the time and take care of my mum's dietary requirements.
Overall, our family is extremely thankful to each and everyone at Linson Court.

Linson Court provides high-quality care to all residents, especially my friend who currently resides at the home. The staff are attentive, understanding, compassionate and extremely professional. My friend has encountered no issues at all whilst residing at the home and often refers to the home as his
hotel which to me demonstrates how relaxed and settled he is.

I can't comment or stress enough how excellent Linson Court is. I highly recommend them!
The management of the home has done an amazing job keeping standards continuously high! Well done!

I have found the carers and nurses here to be very good, kind and understanding. A few are exceptional.
The room is alright, except it is carpeted. I think it would be better with lino as that could be washed regularly.
The food is poor.

Linson Court is an excellent nursing home where the staff are extremely dedicated and go beyond the call of duty. Their positive nature and friendliness to residents and visitors create a vibrant and warming atmosphere. The home is extremely clean and well looked after and enhanced with attractive displays.

This is the best care home that we have found in our experience, with the most wonderful carers.
My mother has never been as well looked after. She was transferred from hospital as 'end of life' care and due to the care received from the staff my mother has actually improved due entirely to their attention,
I am sure.

Visited my friend as I do regularly this week and could not believe the difference. Staff have always been caring and kind but there seemed to be a buzz this time I visited. I know there is a new manager in place so it may have something to do with that but everyone seemed so happy, all the residents
were happy & smiling and the place just seemed to be buzzing and full of life and laughter which is exactly what you need when living in care. My friend was very happy, was clean tidy and eating a delicious looking and smelling meal.
Well done to everyone, I know they all work extremely hard and could not ask for more for my friend.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.525)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.525) out of 10 for Linson Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 21 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.550 for Linson Court is calculated as follows: ( (174 Excellents x 5) + (43 Goods x 4) + (10 Satisfactorys x 3) + (7 Poors x 2) + (6 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 240 Ratings = 4.55
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Linson Court is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
