the only thing that my husband and I would like to see is a sun-room or conservatory to the back of the building adjoining the sitting room, where family and friends can sit together when visiting, when more than two visit it is too cramped in the bedrooms, and sitting in the lounge we don't get any privacy.
We are delighted that you are very pleased with the care your mum is receiving. We have been discussing with our estates department the possibility of putting a conservatory onto the sitting room and hopefully it will be in the refurbishment plans for the future.
When my mum reached the stage where we had to accept that mum could no longer manage her own house, we looked at several care homes for her. Some we could not have contemplated letting her move into. On an initial visit to Aberford Hall appeared to be by far the best available over the next two and a half years until mum passed away, our judgement proved to be totally correct. Mum was very happy and made new friends. All levels of cleanliness, staff attitudes, activities for mental stimulation for residents and support by staff for both mum and ourselves was excellent. I would have no hesitation in recommending Aberford Hall to anyone who requires this type of facility for a relative.
It had a real feeling of belonging, right from the start and staff soon felt like extended family members.
The place was warm, welcoming, clean & fresh and the residents looked happy.
The rooms are adequate and kept clean. They have their own laundry, so clothes are washed and returned quickly.
The meals are exceptional. We know because at times we also ate them (all freshly prepared) and very much appreciated, Thank you.
The entertainments lady is always busy organizing sing-a-longs; bingo etc and they have regular themed events throughout the seasons.
Dad was only there for a short while but the care he received in that time was above and beyond, all the staff were wonderful, not only did they take great care of Dad but they also cared for us as well. Thank you so much.
We would not need to think twice about recommending this HOME from HOME.
