Corinthian House is located close to the centre of Leeds City Centre with Western Flatts Cliff Community Park to the back of the home.

This purpose-built care home is situated in an acre of private gardens to the rear of the home with well-maintained gardens and a large patio that residents can enjoy in good weather. For green fingered residents there are raised planters for a spot of gardening or just to enjoy the flowers.

Spread over three floors, the home provides accommodation for 70 residents with 3 twin en-suite rooms and 64 single rooms with en-suite facilities for residents with Residential, Dementia and Nursing needs. The home was refurbished in 2021 and each floor contains a lounge, dining room and fully furnished bedrooms. At Corinthian House, they want their home to be your home and residents are encouraged to personalise their new bedroom with ornaments, pictures’ and furniture from home if this will enable a smoother transition to their new home.

They believe that the way to residents’ hearts is through the delicious food the kitchen team create and they are delighted to hold a 5 star Food Hygiene rating. Whether it be a Sunday lunch or fish and chips on a Friday there is always something on the menu for residents to enjoy.

Inside the home, there is a quiet, happy and informal atmosphere in which each client chooses their own lifestyle. The three Lifestyle Coordinators are on hand to offer friendly 1-1 time or group activities in the home or even a trip out to the local shops, parks or cinema. Activities like Exercise to music are created around the residents’ favourite tracks and gentle arm chair exercises are performed in the lounges in the home ensuring the mobility needs of all residents are met.

When his money ran out to pay full fees for his previous home, and the only option to keep him there was to pay top-up fees we couldn't afford, we had to move Dad to a no top-up fees home. The whole process was challenging and draining, but finding Corinthian House was a breath of fresh air!
The whole
set-up is head and shoulders above Dad's previous home, which was a quick selection during Covid, when options were limited.
Since moving, Dad has recieved a much better level of care and the family are well informed and kept up to date. Dad is brighter and smarter in appearance and has had the warmest of welcomes. Nothing is too much trouble and visiting is more if a pleasure for us all. We wish we had had the luxury of more choice 4 years ago, as Corinthian House would have won!
We're grateful to everyone there, without exception- a truly wonderful place.

Thank you for your feedback. It is a pleasure looking after Dad and having the family come into visit. We really do try to make it a home for home, not just for our residents, but for their friends and family too.

The staff all do their very best in difficult circumstances (quite often) with my Mum. I am kept informed when incidents happen. I think the home could do with sprucing up but I believe this is the intention. Thank you.

Thank you for your continued support and feedback. We have just started a process of redecoration throughout the home with a plan in place to improve the environment on Acorn unit. I hope you can see the improvements as they take place and that Mum can enjoy these as they come into fruition.

I would say Corinthian House Nursing & Care Home is a very good environment that offers good care, nursing staff, and care workers.
They try to bring out the best of each resident's character as the entertainment co-ordinator is very good at sorting out very varied entertainment to suit all ages and
abilities. The housekeeping is always of a good standard. Kitchen presentation could do with a little help to improve the presentation of meals. The manager and all staff very good team.

I would like to thank a particular member of staff for her time and patience, on Sunday 14th May 2023, when discussing my dad's care needs and all of the help that she gave me, with working towards a solution. She is such a pleasant, efficient young lady.
Thanks.

Very pleased with the new management team now. A member of staff is working hard to make lots of changes in the care home and it seems to be working. My mum is now getting more care which was needed so she's improving and seems a lot more settled.

I found the staff and service at Corinthian House Care Home to be severely lacking in every aspect.
The ‘care’ my grandfather received in his very short stay here (we moved him to another home after noticing his drastic weight loss in the three months he’d been a resident) was way below what should
be the average for a care home!
Having made several complaints we are still awaiting an outcome as most staff dealing with this have now left.

My mother is happy there and settled in quickly despite not wanting to move out of her home. The staff are approachable and friendly and seem to care about the residents. She has commented more than once about how nice the meals are and usually eats everything. The residents seem to enjoy the activities.
They are coping well keeping all safe from COVID-19. Mum has her own room with an en-suite toilet.

Mother was offered a respite bed at Corinthian House following major electrical failure at her property. The team came out to assess her and were very prompt, professional and polite.
On arrival, several members of the team entered her room to introduce themselves to us and mum.
We were left with
no doubt she was in very safe hands. She was so happy, we had a job persuading her to return home. Well done and thank you.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.268)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.268) out of 10 for Corinthian House Nursing & Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.725 for Corinthian House Nursing & Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (78 Excellents x 5) + (20 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 102 Ratings = 4.725
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.543 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Corinthian House Nursing & Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 70 registered maximum number of service users is 14. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 14 = 0.643
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
