All staff were friendly, attentive and professional. Food was good and plentiful and if mum wanted to go "off-menu", staff would do everything to get her what she fancied.
My mother received palliative care and died at Riverhead Hall. Along with superb district nurser support, staff enabled my mum
to have a peaceful, almost pain-free, dignified death.
She felt cared for and "special". She was treated as an individual. I felt there was a very positive culture.

Mum went into Riverhead Hall initially for respite care after a spell in hospital, all the staff were very welcoming. Mum wasn't eating so the staff tried to tempt her with various foods. Mum also didn't want to leave her room so staff regularly checked on her and took the time to chat which she enjoyed.
Mum went back into hospital and returned to Riverhead Hall for end of life care. All the staff were caring, kind and did everything they could to make her comfortable. Mum herself said she couldn't be in a better place. One staff member brought in her little boy, mum loves this. Mum received excellent care and all the staff were competent, friendly, caring and kind. This was very reassuring for us as a family to know she ended her days being so well cared for.

In this difficult time for my friend and also for me, all the staff were wonderful and also helpful. They all helped my friend in the last time of his life and gave me the strength to support him. Thanks to all of them.

Overall I think the level of care is good, however, I sometimes witness my mum having to wait long periods of time for a carer to attend to her needs. I think this is due to the ratio of staff to residents. I also think the meals are not of a good standard. Before mum would usually eat all that was
for tea, this not the case now, she rarely eats a full meal!

We have not received any other negative feedback around the meals but would encourage you to discuss this with the home manager so that a solution can be found.

Every time I have visited the home the staff have always taken time to update myself and husband on the care of my Father in law. My Father in law always looks very well presented and I feel all the staff have all built a good relationship with him which I feel is very important. My Father in law always
comments about the lovely food, cakes and tea served throughout the day and there is a wide variety of entertainment put on throughout the week, from singers to owl handlers, something to suit everyone. All my Father in laws medical/ health needs are met promptly and health needs are met very swiftly when required. The home always appears very clean and welcoming, the staff and management are very professional.

Since entering the care home in Jan of this year, my husband has gradually settled in and the staff now report that he is responding well to his change in circumstances. I am impressed with the patience and kindness of the staff.

Resident has been to Riverhead on two previous occasions when on respite. During these two stays we realise that this care home would be our preferred home should we need full-time care. My father has been a resident at Riverhead Hall for over two years. The home is located in a beautiful garden setting, which is well maintained and tended on a regular basis. Sitting in his chair in the lounge, my father is able to view the garden and often comments on the roses (he used to be a keen
gardener) and the wildlife that visits. He can also view the garden from his room, which is light, airy and always clean, on the first floor.
Meal times are always looked forward to and my father has often said that he enjoys the food provided. His clothes are kept clean and he is usually smartly but comfortably dressed when I visit.
My father is well looked after by the attentive staff in a friendly, safe environment and he has come to regard Riverhead Hall as ‘home’.

My mother and husband have lived at this care home for over two years. I have been very impressed with the work of all the staff.
They are a dedicated team of workers and show a total commitment to ensuring the comfort and well being of the residents.
Catering is of a high standard offering healthy
food presented very well.
Laundering is immaculate.
There is a very happy atmosphere in the home due of course to the dedication of all the staff.
For residents who are able to, there are many and varied activities and outings for the residents.
An outstanding care home.
