Riverhead Hall

We are always kept updated and are encouraged to visit as often as we like. On our visits, we are given tea and biscuits in the wonderful garden. They are able to provide a level of ongoing care and dignity that we sadly could not provide as Mum's condition worsens. I cannot thank them enough for their kindness.

After a horrible few months in hospital after a major stroke, my Grandma spent some weeks in Riverhead for respite before returning home. All of the staff were so welcoming and accomodating for both her and all of our family. They allowed us to visit daily (whilst abiding by Covid guidelines) which really helped to lift all of our spirits after having spent so long apart. The communication was fantastic and they were always available to answer any queries and put our minds at ease. The staff brought my Grandma on tremendously both physically and mentally - the change in just 6 weeks was phenomenal. We cannot thank them enough!

Mum was in Riverhead Hall this month for respite care. The care she received was second to none. The staff are so caring and nothing is too much trouble day or night. Mum was treated with kindness and respect from the minute she went in, to coming home. I would not hesitate to leave mum with these wonderful staff again knowing all her needs would be met.

My dear dad has now been living at Riverhead Hall for over 4 years. Obviously, the last 12 months have been very difficult for all of us, but it has given me great peace of mind that Dad has been well looked after by the amazing staff at the Care Home and for that, I cannot thank the staff enough. It has recently been a delight to see them all again whilst visiting Dad face to face at last; it feels like I am a part of their "family" as much as Dad is. I also find the managers extremely approachable and eager to listen to any concerns I might have had. The current renovations and decoration are making the whole place feel very comfortable and loved once more. He may not say it often, but I know that Dad has the same opinion as myself and is happy living in Riverhead Hall Care Home.

My mother has been a resident of Riverhead Hall for about four years. The care that she has received during this time has been exceptional, especially during the Covid-19 lockdown. All of the staff are always very helpful, but more importantly very kind and caring.

In December 2020 my mum caught Covid 19. She became very poorly very quickly and spent the following few months struggling through the dreadful effects the virus had on her and went from being a pretty active 90-year-old to struggling for her life, bedridden and sleeping most of the time. The staff of Riverhead Hall, both carers and managers, who have been mum's second family since moving into the home in August of 2019, through their dedication, devotion and selflessness in the face of this horrid virus, brought her through. She is now up and about, enjoying the lovely food and in-house entertainment. She likes her room which is very comfortable and more than anything she likes the carers who take care of her 24/7. Mum is recovering well and although not back to how she was before Covid, she is well on her way. My family and I cannot thank all concerned at Riverhead Hall enough.

My husband and I have always found the staff very helpful and friendly and we are very pleased with the way they look after my Mother and all the other residents. Over the last year during covid, they have gone out of their way to keep all the residents happy, well and entertained as relatives have not been able to visit. My mother has always seemed to be happy while she has been living at the care home and she is always clean and well-fed. All in all very happy with the way things are run.

I have always found the care excellent for my relative, nothing is too much trouble even in these stressful times. Plenty of activities going on for the residents, very nice meals, drinks when requested. I find the staff very helpful and courteous at all times. The rooms are kept to a good standard and never smell anything but sweet. I would recommend Riverhead Hall with no qualms to anyone. Lots of nice space outside for relaxing and visiting including a pod for wet days.

I have had involvement with care homes for several decades professionally and personally with several family members. My mother and late father-in-law have both been residents in Riverhead Hall for over a year. The care provided has been exceptional. The staff are professional, caring, compassionate to both residents, family and friends visiting. Nothing could be too much trouble for them. They show respect and dignity at all times. They have risen to the challenges of the covid-19 restrictions admirably and should congratulate themselves. We can't thank them enough.

Excellent administration. Very warm welcome on arrival with a surprise picnic tea. COVID restrictions are understandably tight but consistent and fair in the circumstances. Communication between staff, residents and relatives is first class. Management and staff are always extremely helpful and nothing seems too much trouble.

An excellent care home situated in pleasant countryside at the edge of Driffield. Good access. Everywhere is clean, bright, well-decorated with roomy wide corridors. On entering there is a happy, welcoming atmosphere. Visitors can enter at any time and residents have access to numerous daily activities. Has a large airy dining room and lovely gardens.

She felt cared for and "special". She was treated as an individual. I felt there was a very positive culture.

Mum went into Riverhead Hall initially for respite care after a spell in hospital, all the staff were very welcoming. Mum wasn't eating so the staff tried to tempt her with various foods. Mum also didn't want to leave her room so staff regularly checked on her and took the time to chat which she enjoyed. Mum went back into hospital and returned to Riverhead Hall for end of life care. All the staff were caring, kind and did everything they could to make her comfortable. Mum herself said she couldn't be in a better place. One staff member brought in her little boy, mum loves this. Mum received excellent care and all the staff were competent, friendly, caring and kind. This was very reassuring for us as a family to know she ended her days being so well cared for.

In this difficult time for my friend and also for me, all the staff were wonderful and also helpful. They all helped my friend in the last time of his life and gave me the strength to support him. Thanks to all of them.

I am very pleased with Riverhead Hall and hope that they will have a room for me in a year or two when I need it.

Staff are patient and caring. I feel he is safe. Good atmosphere.

Overall I think the level of care is good, however, I sometimes witness my mum having to wait long periods of time for a carer to attend to her needs. I think this is due to the ratio of staff to residents. I also think the meals are not of a good standard. Before mum would usually eat all that was for tea, this not the case now, she rarely eats a full meal!

Every time I have visited the home the staff have always taken time to update myself and husband on the care of my Father in law. My Father in law always looks very well presented and I feel all the staff have all built a good relationship with him which I feel is very important. My Father in law always comments about the lovely food, cakes and tea served throughout the day and there is a wide variety of entertainment put on throughout the week, from singers to owl handlers, something to suit everyone. All my Father in laws medical/ health needs are met promptly and health needs are met very swiftly when required. The home always appears very clean and welcoming, the staff and management are very professional.

Since entering the care home in Jan of this year, my husband has gradually settled in and the staff now report that he is responding well to his change in circumstances. I am impressed with the patience and kindness of the staff.

Resident has been to Riverhead on two previous occasions when on respite. During these two stays we realise that this care home would be our preferred home should we need full-time care. This time has now arrived and we are so pleased, happy and reassured that the person who is very dear to us is in this lovely caring friendly environment.
