As ever, the care, support and empathy is excellent. Our mum has been here for five years and has had wonderful care. Thank you all - I hope the staff get a Christmas bonus.
We'll make sure to pass on your gratitude to our dedicated care team at Cranswick Lodge.
My father needed residential care urgently on a permanent basis. The manager and deputy manager went above and beyond to make it happen quickly. My dad is extremely happy and content in the home and, most importantly, safe. The staff are all attentive and supportive. Excellent communication. The home is clean and tidy. Excellent activities and my dad is enjoying regular home-cooked meals! I would have no hesitation in recommending this home.
Thank you for sharing your positive experience with Cranswick Lodge Care Home. We're thrilled to hear that the manager, deputy manager, and staff went above and beyond to provide a quick and seamless transition for your father. It's wonderful to know he is happy, content, and safe in the home,...
The staff were so welcoming to my mother, made her feel at ease. Treated her with care and fully supported her when she became unwell. Were polite and courteous to me and my family at all times. I would recommend the care home.
We're delighted to hear that your mother felt welcomed and well-cared for at Cranswick Lodge Care Home. It's our commitment to provide exceptional care and support, and we appreciate your recommendation.
Since the appointment of the new manager in 2022 at Cranswick Lodge, my mum is looked after to a very high standard. It has been transformed into such a nice place for mum to live. The team care about Mum and always do their very best to meet her needs and make her as comfortable as possible. My mum is very happy here and sees the staff as her family. I very much appreciate that the manager always has time to discuss any concerns about Mum and she fully explains any changes that happen at the home and keeps me very well informed. I would not hesitate in recommending Cranswick Lodge as a home to anyone who needs care.
We greatly appreciate your wonderful feedback and are thrilled to hear about Mum's positive experience since joining us at Cranswick Lodge. Ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all our residents and their families is of utmost importance to us. Knowing that she's enjoying her stay and is content means the world to us. Your kind words truly mean a lot – thank you!
Took Dad for respite for two weeks with a view to calling Cranswick Lodge his 'forever home'. The manager and deputy manager, along with all their staff, could not do enough on the days my sister and I visited, and the day we then took dad, to the day he went to stay this month. They went out of their way with all aspects of his care to make him feel welcome and safe in his environment, which he hadn't felt for a long time. After only the first day, he had settled in well and we felt confident all his needs would be met above and beyond. Thank you.
Many thanks for taking the time to review our home. It was a pleasure to care for your dad. Your kind words are greatly appreciated and I will of course pass them on to the Cranswick Lodge team.
I visited my mother-in-law on her birthday and was very pleased with how I found her. I ate at Southlands and the food was very good. She seemed to be very well cared for which I was obviously very pleased about. The latest management structure seems to be much better than previously.
Many thanks for taking the time to review our home, it is our pleasure to care for your mother-in-law. Your kind words are greatly appreciated and I will of course pass them on to the Cranswick Lodge family .
The home had a welcoming feel and was decorated nicely compared to when I visited one year ago. The staff made us feel at home and were available to assist and answer questions. Good choice of sitting rooms.
Many thanks for taking the time to review our home. Your kind words are greatly appreciated and I will of course pass them on to the Southlands family.
Southlands offers a well-managed and extremely caring environment. My lasting impression is that resident welfare is the overriding priority, with residents treated as if they are family members. Due to Mum's condition, I have visited at all times of the day, and the high quality of care is uniform at all times. Southlands is clean and comfortable with all staff taking pride in their work. I have been very impressed with the amount of one-to-one time devoted to residents. I would highly recommend Southlands.
Many thanks for taking the time to review our home. It is a privilege to care for your mum. Your kind words are greatly appreciated and I will of course pass them on to the Southlands family.
My uncle has just come here and I am very happy with the care he has received. They are all very patient with him and kind.

Amazing, lovely staff. They look after my mother-in-law really well. She is happy here and that's all that matters to us.

Throughout Mum's stay at Southlands, we, as a family, have been pleased with Mum's cate. There is little doubt that Covid has had a devasting effect o the care industry as a whole. Southlands often identified difficulties and has pulled through remarkably well. The staff and management currently in post have been most supportive and have made a great difference in recent months. A big thank you to all.
Many thanks for taking the time to review our home. It is our pleasure to care for your Mum. Your kind words are greatly appreciated, and I will, of course, pass them on to the Southlands family.
Always receive a warm and friendly welcome from the staff at Southlands. With the recent management team changes, the home is much improved. The team are very approachable and helpful with any questions we may have. All the staff work hard and are very caring towards the residents.
Many thanks for taking the time to review our home. It is our pleasure to care for your Mum. Your kind words are greatly appreciated, and I will, of course, pass them on to the Southlands family.
Mum-in-law came into Southlands a year ago. During the time she has been here, we feel she has been well cared for. The staff are very caring. We would, however, have liked there to have been some activities to stimulate Mum. It is possible she declines this! I understand the activity girl has been on long-term sick. Very impressed with the food - always looks good and well presented.
Dear Barbara, Many thanks for taking the time to review our home. All feedback is welcomed and allows us to continually develop our service. Your kind words are greatly appreciated, and I will, of course, pass them on to the Southlands team.
After five years of living at home alone, I have come to Southlands to live and have settled in very well. I am enjoying being here, and all the staff are lovely.
Many thanks for taking the time to review our home. It is our pleasure to care for you, and we are delighted that you have settled in so well and enjoying life at Southlands. Your kind words are greatly appreciated, and I will, of course, pass them on to the Southlands family.
Over recent months, considerably more permanent staff have been employed at the home. Long-term staff have worked hard to provide good care, but the increased staffing has had a positive impact. The staff work well as a team, and this creates a warm and caring atmosphere. The residents receive varied meals which are caringly prepared. Everyone at the home, management, admin, housekeeping, catering, maintenance staff, as well as the carers, are welcoming.
Many thanks for taking the time to review our home and comment on the positive changes that are being made. Your kind words are greatly appreciated, and I will, of course, pass them on to the Southlands family.
Very clean premises with a warm welcome from the pleasant, neatly dressed staff. I was impressed with all aspects of the home I saw. Keep up the good work and the level of professionalism. I would certainly not hesitate to recommend Southlands!
My husband was very well treated by all the staff in Southlands. Everyone was pleasant and polite. They sometimes were short-staffed but still had time for him. The home is rather tied. There is quite often a difficulty getting through on the telephone, which is inconvenient at times. The admin officer has a difficult job being a receptionist and clerical officer.
Many thanks for taking the time to review our home. It is our absolute pleasure to care for your Husband. Feedback, such as this, helps us to improve and continue to maintain the high standards set by the team. I will, of course, pass on your kind words to the colleagues at Southlands.
Although the staff are good, senior staff when you ask them a question, you get different answers, especially regarding visiting.
I recommend Southlands. I feel my mum is getting the very best care possible. The staff are supportive, caring and professional. I know I can ring them anytime, and they will always have time to talk to me. My mum has a lovely room, and the atmosphere of the care home generally is lovely with clean and bright social areas. The food is fab, and you are always invited to join in mealtimes. Go with your gut feeling when you look around. Talk to the senior staff. Maybe you thought you'd never be in this situation, but from my point of view, I can sleep at night now knowing my mum is getting looked after so well.
Thank you for your review and your very kind words. We are delighted that you are happy with the care that we provide to your relative, and thank you for all of your support.
I have not had the chance to go into the home or my relative's room due to the current situation, but I am looking forward to being able to see their room as restrictions are lifted. It’s been difficult for residents and families, but it’s been the right thing to do to protect and shield them.
I would like to be able to sit down and have a more formal review of their care and how they are getting on, and maybe this did happen before Covid and will start again?
Overall, I feel confident they are been well cared for, and the home has done its very best to accommodate visiting in a difficult time for everyone. It hasn’t been an easy time for residents, families and staff.
Thank you for your review. I would be more than happy to arrange a review with you and your relative via a virtual meeting if you would be happy with that? I will give you a call this afternoon and discuss this further with you.
