Barchester Castle Keep Care Home

Im very happy with the care my husband receives from all the staff on nightingale unit. I feel my husband is very settled. Food and snacks are very good. Room is very clean and tidy. I cant fault anything

I am glad my brother is in this home the carers are brilliant in fact all staff even the cleaners are loving and careing to residents nothing to much trouble he has only been in a few months but he has settled realy well. He is looked after realy well always clean and tidy.

The care home is welcoming and pleasant to be in, we have not had any problems with anyone or anything in the home. They offer a variety of meals and activities for their service users which is handy for people that need different things to stimulate them.

My dad moved into this care home just over three weeks ago and has improved so much in just a short time. All the staff are so welcoming helpful and reassuring, We chose this home after we had a unpleasant experience in another home and they are worlds apart, they are not only supporting my dad but us as a family.They treat him with dignity and respect and don't talk to him like a child. Dad looks a lot happier and they are constantly interacting with him. They take him on outings and help him interact with other residents in the home. The home is a bright and lively place, his room is always clean and tidy, bedding changed all the time. I have been there for some meal times and the food always looks beautiful offering a start,main and dessert, they come round offering him drinks and snacks all the time. As a family we feel happy that Dad is safe and well cared for by all the staff in the home. Hopefully Dad will get a lot better and stay happy here for many years.

Bedrooms and living room and Dining area is always clean and tidy. My Partner has been in nightingale since December. he has dementia all I can say is that the staff are very good with personal care and understanding what their needs are. Nurse Staff are alway pacient with giving medication to all the residents.

I am pleased with the care my husband has in this care home. He is kept clean, well fed and the staff show kindness to him. The staff are welcoming and friendly to visitors. They strive to know the people they care for in depth, so that they can meet their indivual needs.

I would not hesitate to recommend this care home to anyone.

I found a marked change for the better in my brother in law since his transfer to this care home. All the staff are very approachable and answer any questions the family have. He is being well cared for and has been eating better and putting on weight. There is a very homely atmosphere.

My dad became a resident in the Nightingale dementia community at Castle Keep in January 2024. Dad was moved from another care home that wasn't meeting his needs. The positive change in my dad was immediately noticeable. He is happy and very well looked after. The staff are excellent, upbeat, fun and humorous. The interactions between the staff, residents and visitors are always positive. My dad is flourishing and I know his needs are being met, he is very well looked after and he is happy. Dad has told me several times he is happy there and the staff look after him. I enjoy visiting my dad and spending time there. The staff are fantastic and have had to save my dad from choking incidents, due to his illness, and have saved his life. The staff have the knowledge, skills, understanding, compassion and positivity to make it an excellent, supportive, caring home for my dad. The staff are the heartbeat of the home and are the best team. Thank you.

There are ups and downs wherever you go but you can't put a price on being passionate and you have either got it or you haven't so I applaud her and all the staff there that love their job because that's what it's all about.

I have friend who work in the caring sector & a lot of homes are quite rightly slated but Barchester they need to be praised. Keep up the good work.

Our father has been in Barchester Castle Keep Care Home now for a year. I would like to say, what absolutely amazing staff take care of him. With dementia causing behaviour difficulties, it cannot be easy dealing with unexpected occurrences. The staff do everything with a smile and encouraging words showing real care and commitment. In my estimation, they go above and beyond every day. A credit to their profession. Cannot praise them enough. The manager is also only too happy to discuss anything with the family. 5 star service. I felt visiting the home was the right one, clean and bright, staff friendly and professional, very organised and work together as a team. Always feel a warm welcome when visiting my husband. The care given is excellent, always ready to support and encourage the residents.

The staff are absolutely marvellous, they are all so friendly and they can not do enough for the residents or visitors for that matter. The building is kept very clean, pleasant surroundings, the food is lovely and most importantly, my wife is very happy.

I am happy with the care and support my father-in-law receives. Staff work extremely hard and often understaffed. Laundry is an issue, all Father-in-law's clothes/bedding are all named, would appreciate only named items being put in his room as ends up wearing other clothes. Staff are all very helpful and caring, they are so good with Father-in-law and cheer him up if he's down. Thank you.

All carers/staff are very caring and work extremely hard to look after my husband. At times, I feel they are understaffed and chasing around. Now it is nicer weather, is nice residents get outside but again, can't if short staffed. We like the activities you do, it would be helpful if my husband, at times, could mix with residents in Nightingale.
